Review: Mystery surrounds the story behind this edit-style two-tracker - and, indeed, the identity of Baggy Leggins and Duke Hobo themselves - but there's much to admire about it. Check first A-side 'Keep Marching', where a lightly beefed up and housed-up semi-acoustic groove offers a platform for sweet, bilingual female lead vocals, jaunty guitars and simmering strings. It's a genuine dancefloor revision, but one that will suit Balearic DJs and confirmed party starters as much as dusty-fingered crate diggers and selector sorts. 'Shuffleupagus', meanwhile, sees the mystery artist cut up and tool up a vaguely familiar Latin workout with predictably energetic and party-starting results.

Review: Coolly stepping out like a white-suited player on a Miami club strip, the high expectations set by any mention of Italian disco pioneer Daniele Baldelli are easily matched by the opener and title number. And things really only get better from there.

On the flip, Mind Fair have their way with that original, turning it into a more grounded four-four workout if you listen beyond the top layer of rolls and snare crashes. For many, though, this one will be all about the Warehouse Preservation Society remix of 'Taylorpo', which puts Italo right back at the top of the disco agenda, sounding at once space age yet nostalgic, and unquestionably, unstoppably danceable.

Review: Monsieur Dimitri from Paris works his magic on Casbah 73's organic disco grooves with a remix treatment that surpasses all expectations. Casbah's original track may sound like a band-recorded take with added production sheen, but it's actually a deceptively well-made track recorded by a talented solo artist. Dimitri brings added wompy disco-house heat to the track in two parts, with the first part focusing on the more bangerific elements of the original, and the B (part two) stripping things back to focus on the more minimal, solo dubby parts.

Review: Daddario proves he is the daddio with a new electro excursion on the fledgling Ragoo label. Rather than all out cosmic dance floor assaults, this is electro steep in funk and boogie from the off. 'Shift' is a playful one with stiff melodies and lush chords while 'Boogie Night' (feat JZP) is just that. 'Space Lou' has a feel good disco tinge to the hip swinging clasp and jazzy keys and after an Astratto Fool mix that slows 'Boogie Night' down to a soulful slow dance the flipside brings dazzling electro-disco and downbeat analogue grooves that seduce and tease. The Mechanical Man remix of 'Brazillionaire' might just steal the show at the end.

Review: If you were able to track down an original copy of Dana's soul single, 1977's 'Estate', for sale, it would most likely set you back a few hundred pounds. Helpfully, the excellent Disco Segrata label has tracked down the creators and cut a deal to reissue it. The title track (side A) is a fine example of eccentric, sun-splashed Mediterranean disco of the sort that Italian producers excelled at before the more electronic and synth-pop influenced Italo-disco sound emerged some years later. It does feature some spacey synths, but also organic grooves, infectious lead vocals and some sparkling, suitably summery melodies. 'S'inghelada' takes a similar sonic approach, opting for even heavier bass, liberal use of jazzy and Spanish style guitar solos, and even bolder 'dancing by the beach in Rimini' lead lines.

Review: Dayton were an Ohio-based band who named themselves after their hometown, and for the first half of the 80s they were enjoying a prolific run of original funk and boogie jams including five studio albums. This single on Expansion leads with their misty-eyed 1983 groover 'Promise Me' - a smooth-as-silk cut with not a lick out of place. On the flip, Expansion have dialled back to the band's self-titled debut album from 1980 and the noticeably more organic sound of 'Eyes On You'. If you simply love great 80s soul tunes or want to get to know Dayton a little better, this is a 7" well worth your time.

Review: The Innovative Leisure label is here with more of that irresistible hand-stamped white label goodness. This one comes from the super cool LA duo De Lux (who have a new album out this month) as remixed by Dan Tyler and Conrad McDonnell aka Idjut Boys. They bring plenty of their signature and spacious cosmic dub sounds to 'What Life', layering in the echo and spring reverb in fine style. The dub mix is on a constant upward trajectory that never resolves and so will have the floor in raptures with cowbells and big splashy drums. The original is also included as is their Seven Slackers remix.

Following long-time collaborator Kaidi Tatham in releasing his first 7" on the label, Dego keeps things cool on 'Drop it now! Pick it up!' - all shuffling drums, sparse synths and boogie-funk swagger. Review: The third volume in Tiger & Woods Unleashed Tapes series is a rare solo outing from Larry Tiger (real name Valerio Del Prete) under his occasional Delphi alias. As you'd expect, it boasts the same loop-based, synth-heavy, house-not-house style as the Tiger & Woods material he produces with Marco Passarani, albeit with more of a focus on sounds more often found in Italo-disco and new wave records. Highlights include the spacey robo-disco thrust of 'Vector', the mid-tempo Italo-disco shimmer of 'Silicone Emotion', the hard-wired heaviness of 'Riscio' - all undulating sequenced bass, echoing drum machine hits and mutilated talkbox vocals - and the squelchy, Bobby Orlando-influenced 'Metropole'.

Review: This record is a re-make of a Carmen Amez disco and boogie gem from 1983. The original goes for well over L200 and isn't even that good a pressing. This cover first saw the light of day as a 12" in September that was only acquired by certain DJs. It soon started trading for high prices as people wondered what the hell it was, who it was by, and whether it was a shifty bootleg. That's all resolved now as it gets a proper out with a freshly re-recorded version with strings, horns, bells, whistles and Vanessa Haynes on vocals. It's a lush bit of floor filling heart swelling disco, funk and soul gold with soaring strings to boot.

Review: Dave Lee is of course the given name of Joey Negro, the tireless UK music head, disco lover, record label owner, DJ, producer and archivist. 'Hey Uh-What You Say Come On' (Dave Lee Revibe) is first and is a big percussive workout with man Roy Ayers bells and xylophones over a steaming groove. 'Steal Your Heart' (Dave Lee Showtime mix) reaches for the big Philly strings and sets them free over a more chunky and funky groove that gets right under your skin. Lovely stuff.

Review: Infamous Parisian afterparty Discomatin update the edit series they launched earlier this year with another clutch of beautifully modified obscurities. Once again we're treated to the full spread as the collective lay down the sunny side grooves: "Show Me" is a brilliantly kitsch moment in disco with spoken word that guarantees dancefloor humour. "I Need To Meet You" whisks us off to the horizon on a yacht while "Le Paradis C'est L'enfer" is an emphatic piece of French electroboogie that's so raunchy it could make Gainsbourg. Finally we hit "Deboto Love Song". A serious end-of-night (or end-of-morning in the case of Discomatin) unity cut, if the harmonies don't have grown men on their knees you're doing it all wrong.

Review: Discotecas kicks off a new label devoted to tidy disco edits. This one opens up with the brilliantly sleazy 'Disco Steel' which is all about the rickety drums and filthy bass down low. It's one that is sure to work the club into a real peak time lather. There is a strong Blaze-style deep house vibe to 'Love to the World' with its low-slung beats and bass and snaking bassline overlaid with seductive spoken words. The vibe completely flips for 'Any Day Disco' which brings tropical vibes, Latin flair, wild percussion and a shuffling samba rhythm to close things down in colourful fashion. A fine first EP of edits.

Review: UK re-edit label Moton Inc. present more late night boogie down antics the way the man upstairs intended and courtesy of two undisputed experts. The first is Greg Belson: a veteran known as the 'go to authoritarian for gospel soul music', compiler of the Divine Disco series and host of the Divine Chord Gospel Show on LA's dublab.com. He teams up with Paulo Fulci: a DJ and producer out of Bristol who some of you may know from his work as part of the Situation edit crew. Some crafty resplices on offer here: the A side features the funky and lo-slung life affirmer "The Problem Solver, while on the flip there's an uplifting dose of classic disco on "Brand New Feelin'" and some good ol' fashioned soul power as heard on "Try Love".

Review: Moiss Music released a hot pair of EPs in February and repeat the same trick in May with another quality double drop. It is a various artists offering as always with DJ Delivery's 'Never Gonna Give You Up' a sure-fire floor-filling anthem to start things off. It's got loopy drums and string samples as well as sumptuous vocal harmony then Borka & The Gang keep the feel-good vibes alive with 'Kidding Feelings and Even Funkier's' Dance With Your Feet' is another smile-inducing bit of disco warmth with withering sic-fi synths and hip swinging claps. Jordan Reece's 'Prayer' has hints of gospel in the vocal while noodling keys and tight kicks all get looped to perfection.

Review: DJ Fett Burger returns on Sex Tags UFO with with the growling junkyard beats of 'Galaxy Of Synthesis'. Speaking of which, DJ DOG provides a remix which is more straight ahead and optimised for the dancefloor, while retaining the strong acid and Motor City motifs of the original. Review: Fett Burger and Cato Canari, a Norwegian DJ and producer based in Tokyo, have teamed up to brilliantly Balearic effect here on this new outing on the cult Sex Tags UFO label. They offer up three different versions of 'Para Siempre' that are all suited to sunset sessions on the beach. The tune features Florencia and first comes as an Italo Balearic vocal mix which is doused in lush synths and has steady bass rumbles below the rich chords. Review: Producer and DJ MES (aka Jason Sutton) is the man behind the Guesthouse label out of California and has overseen it serving up more than 100 releases. His own music is never far away from influential charts and record bags and now he serves up a funky number packed with soul samples. 'Soul Glow' kicks off with playful drum loops and filters, a neat bassline and infectious claps. 'Party People' has a more edgy feel with silvery drums and tumbling congas while 'Homage' is the most raw and direct and possibly the best of the lot with its chunky drums and razor-sharp hi-hats.

Review: As always, Washington DC' Peoples Potential Unlimited have resurfaced another rare-as-hens-teeth boogie number and, while we are madly in love with this label, we need to appreciate more just how important they've been to the survival of funk music in recent years. This time, it's Donald Walker's only EP to grace their catalogue, an artist who went by the name of Dohnnie on his solo projects. "Dancin Is Your Love" exudes funk from every corner, backed by a badman bassline, some freaky guitar strings, and Walker's own seductive disco tone. It's a one-track EP precisely because this tune deserves to grace a whole side of a 12". Utterly unmissable, and heavily recommended.

Review: More quality grooves from Washington DC label specializing in reissuing obscure and unknown 70s and 80s dance music. This time around is Dreamcast who are Davon Bryant in conjunction with Swedish guy Sasac aka King Al. "Liquid Deep" is sexy late night deep funk the way it was always intended and Bryant's smooth as silk vocals are just like... Wow! So with Dreamcast on the vocals and Sasac on the beat, we are hoping there's more things on the way from this trans coastal duo in 2017.
