Review: The Kreuzbergkillers label kicks off in fine form with a split release from Sven Von Thulen and Spencer Parker, backed up by a remix from the mighty Shed. 'Body Music', as the title would suggest, sees Von Thulen indulging in a vintage strain of machine music where techno and EBM cross over into fiercely potent, physical club music. Shed takes a surgical approach to the track and creates his own artfully sliced and squashed techno workout. On the flip, Parker creates a feverish mood with looped up samples, discordant low end and more jack than a whole season of 24. Look out for the dub if you want the pressure in a more heads down style.

Said to be conceived during the lockdown period, the track recalls the energy of classic Detroit deep house and even features one of the city's favourite voices in the form of Javonntte. Review: Since launching two years ago, Bristol's We're Going Deep label has consistently delivered some of the deepest and most atmospheric club tracks around. The music they champion is, as many in the West Country would no doubt confirm, "proper deep". That's certainly the case with the tracks on the label's seventh multi-artist extravaganza. Acid Test regular Tin Man kicks things off with a touch of TB-303-doused proto-house minimalism ('I Said Acid'), before Rai Scott takes us 50 leagues below the sea on the ultra-deep, drowsy and hypnotic house cut 'I'll Meet You on the Dancefloor'. Over on side B, Sound Synthesis's 'Necessary Order' is a simply breath-taking trip into deep electro territory, while Roger Van Lunteren's EP-closing contribution is a deep (and deeply psychedelic) acid house trip.

Review: DJ Haus' ever-expanding deviant house music empire continues to impress with another installment of House Crime, this time committed by Szch. The 12" kicks off with the fast and freaky "Girl I Neva" which borders on juke levels of nagging sample chops, before the script gets crumpled up and tossed at the bin with the wonderfully scruffy rave deconstruction of "Peugeot 106 At Sunrise (Pingers Mix)". "Unconditional (Edit)" brings something a little smoother to the mix, although that underlying weirdness that comes with House Crime releases is still lurking in the wings. "UKLJUCEN TI JE BLUTUT" finishes the EP off in a rowdy yet reflective style - long may the strange tale of House Crime continue.

Review: The much loved Melodies International label takes another step away from its usual remit here by reissuing a second bit of classic house music following on from the excellent Hanna 12" late last year. It comes from cult London pair Synchrojack aka Dean Slydell and Greg Wheeler who first put it out on Ferox in 1995. "Daylight" is high speed, high class house with bubbling drums, bass and synths all making for a powerful yet fluid groove that is underpinned with punchy kicks that won't fail to make you move. Flipside "900th Lifetime" is similar in its full flavour grooves and tightly knotted bass. Both cuts are sure to be everywhere this summer.

Review: Swoose is next up in the UK-centric series from Partout with a sweet new EP that traverses the cosmos and heads off to the stars. 'M-Theory' is the opener that rides on retro-future techno drum funk and layers up the acid lines and squelch bass. 'Passage Of Time' is just as tight and punchy with plenty of astral synth lines weaving in and out. 'Dream State' (FTS mix) has a touch of old trance energy to the warm waves of synth that wash over the driving drums and 'Gganbu' then has a more laidback and breezy house vibe with wet finger clicks and mellifluous chords.

Sunny opens up with some happy, piano-laced party starters, well-swung garage-house grooves and steamy basement jams, then Dan T offers a B-side trio headed up by the gloriously vocal laced 'Wrong Time.' 'My Desire' cuts up the groove with some nice raw percussion and 'Want To Love You' is a sultry and jazz-tinged number for lovers.

Review: St Petersberg's Dobro label is noted not just for the quality and playability of its funky house and disco re-edits, but also for its value for money. This, their seventh release, is another great example, with no less than six floorfillers included on one 12", each bringing their own individual mood to the table. 'Flowers Festival' from Sun Rhythms has throbbing organs and fruity keys, topped off by a gorgeous Russian vocal. DJ Merci's 'Timetable' goes for chunky rave pianos and Fairlight stabs, lending it an 80s Italo-disco feel, before Ground Plane Aerial's 'Transition SP' closes the side with slap bass and stripped down house vibe that echoes some of Roule Records' more accessible moments. Side two VIGI's 'I Am You', is the most memorable of the whole package, with its idiosyncratic female vocal weaving a magical spell around the listener, before we finish off with a double whammy of Monny Me's swirling stringfest 'The Name Of The Game' and the parping horns and strutting groove of Ugly Frankie's 'Free Alcohol Shit', the latter including a bewitching and unexpected piano solo. Great work all round.

Ferreck Dawn and Izzy Bizu face off on the B side with 'Life', which brings some powerful pop hooks into the mix atop a catchy as hell house beat. That leaves it to Dawn to tackle Jem Cooke for a version of 'Back Tomorrow' that's just as anthemic, giving you everything you need to move a massive crowd.

First up, Suit & Tie Guy goes up against Dorian Electra on 'Fa$t Ca$h (Easy Credit & The Economic Cra$h)' which gets remixed by Objacktivist into eight minutes of bendy deep house with lashings of Ibiza soulfulness. The Lorenzo Vektor is a wild footwork remix with drums piled up on top of one another and the vocal chopped and diced into pieces. On the flip is a star-gazing synth house exploration of outer space and then a killer electro-funk jam. One of the most unpredictable EPs we've heard in ages.

His Illusion First Mix, Emotion Second Mix and Final Third Mix all bring something fresh to this vital 12". Do not sleep on it.

Review: Oslo-born, London-bred, Delhi-influenced DJ and producer lands on K7 here with an EP that comes after a period of "creative stagnation". To get through it she decided to try and forget what she knew, and went with the flow as she embraced experimentation. The results are fantastically deft - fresh rhythms, wispy synths, plenty of detail but also effective club cuts that make you want to move. Dub, techno and house all get collided in freeform fashion with 'Blamerke' built on double-time polyrhythmic drums and overlaid with warped synths. 'Bottlepop' is more loose and funky with wispy neon melodies and 'Ghungroo' is layered up with sonorous bell and a real sense of urgency. Colourful stuff.

Review: Subjoi delivers a luscious cut of pensive, dusty dance units, topping up his credo as a mainstay on Lost Palms since its inception. A rare example of deep modern melancholia, we're reminded of the sensibility of the adjacent lo-fi house, or Galcher Lustwerk's hip-house hearstring-pullings. 'Know You Better' opts for 2-steppy woodblocks and belly-aching piano chords, with a central vocal line stuttering in a butterflying stasis. We'll leave you to discern the beauty of the ensuing tracks yourself, but we must add that 'Rotary' is our romantic highlight, a space-age breaks lurcher with swelling strings and recondite filtersweeps.

Review: UK mainstay Subb-An makes a welcome return with this fresh new EP on Aesthetic. It finds him in great form with opener 'Seeing Colours' heading off down a nice liquid minimal route with crisp tech drums and twinkling synths up top to bring the magic. On the flip side is 'Plants', a rather serene and sublime cut with more rolling drums and plenty of deft synth designs that bring a certain celestial charm to the fizzing leads. Review: Chicago-born Byron Stingily will of course always behest known as the lead vocalist for Ten City. He has a beautiful tone and is often referred to as one of the genre's best ever singers. Here his 'Can't Help It' gets served up four different ways - the first is with big pianos set to get hands in the air on the Wade Too mix, while the Spaces Between mix is a more deep take with a fleshy bassline. Review: South African funk outfit Stimela, named after the Zulu word for locomotive, formed out of the ashes of bandleader Ray Phri's previous band, The Cannibals, and soon became an institution in their homeland. Five albums deep in 1986, they also released the astounding Rewind EP, which now gets faithfully reissued by Mr Bongo for a fresh audience. Review: Luv Shack is a little old place where good-time disco sounds never stop flowing. The Disco Biscuits series from the label is now up to the third volume and it's as crucial as the first two. Lee Stevens gets it going with 'Theme For Disco Biscuits' which is a contemporary take on a classic Italo stomper. Endrik Schroder's 'Infinity' is a glossy synth-heavy disco made with 80s hi-energy in mind. 'One Of A Kind' on the flip then slows down with a warm house chug and Golden Boogie Connection keeps it horizontal with 'Dull Grey', topped off with some nice acid.

Review: Vienna native Lee Stevens returns to Luv Shack Records for his first solo EP since 2012's 'LUV001', in the meantime exploring a more relaxed sound under his Rising Seed moniker. The opening track 'Right On' creates a sonic universe where Ennio Morricone and John Carpenter have joined forces to make synth-heavy dance music. 'Maskaron' sounds like a full homage to new wave and the obscure side of Italo disco, topped with chanting reminiscent of 1970s western movies. On 'Trippin' On Your Love', Stevens taps into proto-house and synth-dance, complete with arp bass and occasional breakbeats. Track number four, 'Ju Know' features Stevens and long-time collaborator Simonlebon in a moody jam, fit with heavy low-end synths, bittersweet vocal samples, and 80s pop-style piano chords. Finally, the closing track 'Destruction' features tight 808 drums accompanying a dark bassline and eerie vocals, with uplifting synth chords reminding us there is still hope.
