Reminiscent (extended mix) (6:11)
All Night Long (extended mix) (5:42)
Review: Three years after his last album the Anjunadeep label, Marsh is back with another serene exploration of his singular deep house sound. Endless is another ambitious album across four sides of vinyl that features plenty of associates guesting such as Wassu & Mariel Beausejour, Jodie Knight and Simon Doty. It has a range of emotions that go from deeply intense and personal to more expansive and optimistic, all with compelling grooves and well-executed sound designs in each tune. This is another triumph for Marsh, who by now is a master of his craft.

Contemplation (remixes)
Arno E MATHIEU / VARIOUS
Cat: CPT 6081. Rel: 23 Jan 24
Ficus Carica (Joe Claussell remix) (13:56)
Colline (Mark E remix) (5:40)
Platanes (Gigi Testa remix) (8:27)
Znith (Arno E Mathieu Reversion - alternate Disco dub 1) (9:18)
Insulae (ICube remix) (6:41)
Colline Au Zenith (Next Evidence vocal remix) (5:59)
O Zenith (GilbR remix) (5:11)
Ficus Carica (Beanfield remix) (5:10)
Aurora Balearis (Julien Jabre remix - Julien's Arak edit) (6:52)
Temps Libre (Max Essa remix) (6:57)
Review: Arno E Mathieu's 2022 album, Contemplation, was pleasingly hard to pigeonhole, though its' mixture of warming, kaleidoscopic and occasional tropical sounds and styles definitely tended towards the Balearic. It was ripe for remixing - hence this pleasingly epic and deliciously varied remix album. Eyes will naturally be drawn to Joe Clausell's epic 13-minute take on 'Ficus Carica' - a slow building ambient house classic in the making - Mark E's saucer-eyed deep house take on 'Colline' and I:Cube's spacey, Baelaric and lilting revision of 'Insulae', but there are plenty of other tasty treats on show. Check, for example, Next Evidence's dusty Balearic version of 'Colline Au Zenith', Gilb'r's deep space interpretation of 'O Zenith', and rising star Gigi Testa's Afro-acid rework of 'Platanes'.

Before I Go (3:37)
Review: Miguel Migs has been producing expertly well crafted, superbly polished house tracks for years. He has a sound rooted in deep house, but always draws on things like r&b and soul, as well as the scorching hot sun of his native Californian. This new album was written in lockdown so focuses a little more on proper song craft. The results are fantastic - these are tracks that ooze pool-side cool. Their rolling beats and bass perfectly designed to hook you in and make you smile. It might be his best yet.

The Deep & The Lost
Cat: NSRVINYL 015. Rel: 01 Nov 22
Heirs Of Rhythms (5:26)
Soulizm (4:54)
Turntable Blues (5:29)
118 Deep Vibes (5:05)
Storm Clouds (5:32)
Burnt Grooves Outro (3:12)
Review: Ricardo Miranda is a DJ and producer from Chicago who heads up Noble Square Recordings. The Deep & The Lost (A Collection Of Lost Music) is his latest album compilation featuring music from the archives that is unreleased, lost, unappreciated and unavailable. Whether it's the deeply evocative opening cut 'Heirs of Rhythms' reaching near spiritual moments in the vein of Joe Clausell, or the soothing mood music of 'Turntable Blues' on the first side, or the dusty, down 'n' dirty vinyl exclusive '118 Deep Vibes' and the sensual 'Storm Clouds' featuring the Latin Soul Brothas - this is really one for the heads. Tip!

Disko (Not Disko) (5:59)
Review: A limited release collaboration on Japanese disco dub outfit Monkey Timers' Disko Klubb, with Sound Of Vast, a record label run by fellow countrymen in Amsterdam. Klubb Lonely features collaborations with some of the scene's finest, including Berin by-way-of Italy's Mr Ties (Homopatik) on the slo-mo disco of 'Less', electronic experimentalist Ketia Sano with the deep and emotive 'Hometown', the tunneling ad psychedelic head music of 'Cold Days, Warm Heart' (feat DJ Sammo Hung Kam Bo & Manami Kakudo) and a cover of Dusty Springfield's 'That's The Kind Of Love I've Got For You'.

Provide Those Ends (2:05)
Review: WORKSHOP 32 has been a long time coming - not least as this is Kassem Mosse's first solo outing on Workshop since 2014. And what a way to return, presenting a full-length album that reflects the evolution of the artist while not denying any of the ideas and sounds and styles that first made us fall in love with him all those moons ago. A broad and varied celebration of off-centre electronic music that has as much right to be on the dancefloor as it does on a movie soundtrack. So what does that sound like? Well, in the case of 'Track 2', it's a skeletal toybox tech workout, while 'Track 6' takes us into deep and surrealist house music. Elsewhere, ''Track 7' explodes into a carnival of percussion and bleep, 'Track 4' offers lunging curveball fours, bassline seeming to bore holes in the very ground you're stomping on. Always pared back, but never truly minimal, it's one of 2023's earliest classics.

Around The Sun: Part 1

Around The Sun (6:56)
Drive (5:19)
Touch The Sky (5:29)
Coast Line Paradox (6:32)
Electrostatic Levitation (6:02)
Something's Going On (5:00)
Like The Dawn (6:05)
Pressureize (6:36)
Marrakesh (7:02)
Shimmer (6:24)
Review: Any new album from deep house pioneer and all-round legend Larry Heard is good news, but especially so when it's credited to his best-known and best-loved alias, Mr Fingers. Around The Sun Pt 1 is Heard's first album under the alias for four years and, unsurprisingly, it's as musically expansive, evocative, and atmospheric as they come. Naturally, it's rooted in the warming, dreamy, subtly jazz-flecked deep house style he's been tweaking and improving over decades, with occasional forays into sun-kissed downtempo grooves ('Touch The Sky'), angular acid tracks, Heard's take on dub house (the deliciously deep, micro-house influenced 'Marrakesh') and summery Balearic house ('Shimmer'). All in all, it's another masterpiece from deep house's most significant pioneer.

Tamburi Parlanti
Cat: FTM 202208. Rel: 28 Nov 22
Tamburi Parlanti (5:21)
Timido (4:23)
Where Is Juanito (4:09)
Guasa (4:48)
El Ritmo Cultural (4:36)
Alghero Solare (4:47)
Review: The rhythms of this new LP from Musta are so loose and jangly their likely to shake your bones free from your own skeleton. They are part disco, part house, part tribal in make-up but the results are entirely new - ritualistic dances for late night sermons. The opener might be the best of the lot as 'Tamburi Parlanti' pairs lumpy drums and rugged guitar riffs with rising synth magic a la Theo Parrish. 'Timido' is another steamy bit of body music from deep in a humid jungle and that continues with 'Where Is Juanito'. The flipside is every bit as joyful, with spiritual Afro sounds and beatdown making for a vibrant and varied EP.
