Review: Duploc continue to fly the flag for true-skool dubstep with their digital output and a renewed run of vinyl pressings. Duploc Blaxck Tapes 2.0 originally dropped back in 2022 and the tracks from the likes of Hamdi, Hypho and ENiGMA Dubz were instantly getting picked up by such respected selectors as Youngsta, Sicaria Sound and Riz La Teef. It's not hard to see why, given the label's declared focus on "the heavier dubstep sound" with incendiary results. If you want to test some subs with the gnarliest 140 gear around, this record is all you need.

Review: The ever more vital Belgian label Duploc welcomes deep dubstep legend Distance for three more of his hard hitting and atmospheric cuts. 'Sacrifices' lurches on huge drops with twisted bass and icy hats making for a stark, sparse landscape. 'Overcome' then has a wobbly low end that is fleshy and flabby and really pulls you in deep, like a comfy sofa. '808 Snake' has a darker edge, with more textured and coarse hits and squealing leads that are edgy and intense. All three of these are devastating cuts that need to be played loud.

Review: It's been a long time since the dank and dirty one last appeared on DUPLOC. 2015 to be precise. During that time DUPLOC have gone from strength to strength as a platform and Enigma Dubz has honed his sound to incredible levels. Warm, wet, trippy and loaded with a funk that seems to come out from nowhere, his signature and style is here in all its glory across four tracks. Highlights include the spooked-out desert charm of "ET" and the classic samples and barrelling sub swagger of "Lurkin". Don't take our word for it, the whole EP needs your attention.

Review: Belgian dubstep outpost Duploc celebrate five years of support with this fittingly heavy and forward-thinking five tracker. Enigma Dubz gets real with an obscene oscillator that rumbles heavily in a way that wouldn't have gone amiss on Immerse 10 years ago, Lost take us deep into the woods on a sledge of toxic bass slurry while Bukez Finezt lets loose in the freestyle way only he knows how. Elsewhere Requake spook us out with a sparse design and croaked-out bass textures while Artroniks wraps up on an iced-out sci-fi tip. Duploc know a dark groove when they hear one. Here's to five more years.

Review: Belgian dubstep label Duploc have been releasing two-track singles since 2015, and the imprint now announces the launch of a new 12? vinyl series. The first EP features no less than label resident Hebbe who was introduced to to the label in the beginning of 2018 and signed to Crucial Recordings and Artikal Music shortly after. Now, he returns to the label for the first volume of the new Dupplates series. "Watch Out" is a grimey deep dubstep journey in the U.K. tradition, and ENiGMA Dubz steps up next to deliver an incredibly stunning remix. On the flip, the off-kilter groove of "Lemon Twist" (with Melle & Mr K) closes out the EP in style.

Review: Juss B is Torrey Thomas, a producer based in Long Beach, California with releases on Uprise Audio, CPA and FatKidOnFire. He's got a new one out this week on Belgium's Duploc, the 'leading tastemakers for real dubstep' with some Stateside low end theories on the label's 42nd release. Features the Ourman remix of Sandman, which is said to be highly anticipated and we can see why - definitely some deep hypnotic vibes on this one! Elsewhere, there's the roaring bass exploitations of 'Burn This' and the bass bin destruction of 'Make It Rain' which altogether represent the standard of quality that's so prevalent on the west coast at present.

Review: Hold on tight for some low end wobblers here from this new EP, Duploc Selects Y, featuring six sizzlers from six different artists on the DUPLOC label. Ninety kicks off with the cancerous 'Snek's Kiss' with its low end snaking through a desolate urban landscape. Then comes the icy stepper that is 'Ditcher' from Zygos and Mistah's 'Shook' gets more edgy with unsettling leads and earth shattering drums. 207 offers crunchy drum textures and hefty bass weight on 'Japan Digital' and Idioteque's 'Morality' is another lurcher with scraping hits. Ghostek closed down with the dread-fuelled 'Seek War'.

Review: There's no stopping this American trio right now; after a massive year of ugly thumpers on the likes of Dank & Dirty Dubz, Chestplate and Artikal, they return to DUPLOC for another EP, this time fully vinylised and loaded with two VIPs of their label debut last year. "Forest Temple" is a real foundation shaker where the subs do all the talking and the eerie textures ripple through the spaces while "Up Up" is just a straight up stinker with full wobbles and teeth gnashing filth. Flip for two crucial VIPs as "Verify Me" and "Yellow & Grey" are given the most dapper go-gullier-stripes you ever did hear. Sound as a pound.

Review: Unstoppable US crew Ternion Sound continue to dent our senses with their 140 witchcraft with this supreme collaboration collection with some of the most respected and equally forward-thinking peers. First comes Enigma Dubz who joins the fray for an alien shoot 'em up 'The Engineers' before Opus comes crashing into the blend on the ultra crisp and dreamy 'Mediator'. Flip for two more high level banger b2bs: 'Catacombs' (with LOST) is an absolute stinker a la Coki 2007 while 'Heart Machine' (with Smith) closes the show with true chainsaw magic. Review: The fourth but not quite final instalment of the DUPLOC SELECTS compilation series is a heavy hitting double 12" featuring two tunes from each of the previous four releases. Feonix & A:Grade's "Prumeer" is an early highlight with its spacious swagger and whip-snapping synth sounds depicting a desolate urban landscape, while for a totally different vibe the lush harp ripples of Ourman's "Harpy" is a great escape. With the complete 10-track Chapter III and Chapter IV compilations landing in October and November respectively, think of the final two sides of this release as a fine taster of what to expect.

Review: Belgian bastions Duploc look back over the last decade of resonance with this crucial ten track set. Launching at a time when dubstep was at its most crass commercial EDM-ified peak, the crew have forever maintained their love for the deeper, underground and innovative side of 140 music and this collection is a kindly reminder of that.
