Nice Up The Dance (2:36)
Michigan & Smiley & Sound Dimension - "Nice Up The Dance" (version) (2:35)
Review: Yet another good ole Studio One classic. Michigan and Smiley's 'Nice Up The Dance' is widely understood as one of the dancehall scene's most formidable classics. First out in 1979, this edition also comes with 'Real Rock', one of the most enduring tunes in reggae from time. Two rootsy monsters you won't regret hearing.

Style & Trend
Style & Trend (Choppa Riddim)
Review: This unique heavyweight release of 'Style & Trend' mashes up Ragga/Grime/Dubstep/Dancehall and is the latest release from the ever forward-looking Tayo
(this time with his studio partner Baobinga), and features original jungle/drum and bass MC Spyda on the mic. Hard-as-nails, this tune has been destroying
dancefloors worldwide on dubplate for the last few months and now sees a full release on Soul Jazz Records. Most recently Tayo featured on Soul Jazz Records'
successful 'Box of Dub' series alongside artists such as Skream, Digital Mystikz, Kode 9 and Burial
With residencies at both Fabric and Radio 1, Tayo is currently one of the UK's busiest DJ/producers releasing numerous projects on a variety of labels and has
remixed artists as diverse as Basement Jaxx and Lady Sovereign.
MC Spyda started out emceeing on reggae sound systems in the 80s and when Jungle came along in the early 90s his reggae style vocals fitted the music perfectly
and he's been in demand ever since.

Things Change
Things Change (Piano riddim)
Things Change (DJ C remix)
Review: New killer dancehall bomb from Warrior Queen on Soul Jazz Records! Warrior Queen is one of the most in-demand vocalists on the dubstep,
dancehall and grime scenes at present. She has released records with Skream, The Bug, Kode9, DJ Zinc and many more (on labels such as
Rephlex, Soul Jazz, Hyperdub, Tempa, Casual and more). Warrior Queen began her career in Jamaica, MCing on her uncle's soundsystem in
Kingston and quickly elevated to releasing dancehall tracks on the Penthouse label. Since first releasing records in the UK she has worked
with some of the finest underground producers in the country. Her previous release on Soul Jazz Records was as Ladybug (with Kevin Martin,
AKA The Bug) with 'Them A Bomb We', about the 7th of July Tube bombings. This new track 'Things Change' is about the politics of life
between Jamaica and the UK. Heatwave's original productions and re-mixes have previously been released on their own Scandal Bag,
Punchline and Heatwave labels including their infamous DJ-friendly dancehall versions of Kelis's 'Trick Me' and Lily Allen's 'LDN'. Warrior
Queen's 'Thing Change' is taken from the forthcoming 'An England Story', a history of UK MC culture featuring an incredible array of dancehall
/hip-hop/grime MCs from the last 25 years, with artists such as Roots Manuva, General Levy, Estelle, London Posse, Stush, Tippa Irie, Warrior
Queen and many, many more.

Review: Soul Jazz Records/100%Dynamite returns with a massive slice of dancehall bringing together music from the last 25 years up to the present. The album mixes up classic cuts, rare tracks and brand new material from the likes of Digital Mystikz - who lead the current UK dub step movement - and Ladybug (aka The Bug and Lady Sovereign) - two artists at the front of cutting edge of the digital/dancehall/grime scene as well as featuring classic dancehall from the originators - Dillinger, Lady Saw, King Tubby, Beenie Man, Kiprich, Michigan and Smiley and many more. This album features non-stop dancehall party classics and comes in all its many styles - digital rhythms, Nyabinghi drumming, dub step and more. From the electronic wizardry of King Tubby to the Digital Mystikz and from the lyrical poetry of Tippa Irie, Shinehead, Lady Saw and many more this is dancehall all styles!

Review: The Studio One catalogue is the gift that keeps on giving, and Soul Jazz continually play Santa. This latest comprehensive collection is a great compilation of some of the best DJs and MCs to have been involved in reggae. Vital Jamaican stars like Dillinger, Prince Jazzbo and Lone Ranger all feature next to more hardcore names and some choice rare cuts. Spanning the 70s and into the mid-1980s, this 18-track offering gives a glimpse into the evolution of reggae to more digital and dancehall styles that come later, all with specially commissioned sleeve notes by Fashion Records head honcho Chris Lane.
