Review: Slinky nighttime acid tech from Cirkel Square, laying down his debut 'Outside The Dome' EP for Subwax. Despite the title's focus on the hemispherical exterior, this is actually a two-track study on both the inside and outside of said dome. We begin life inside the hydroponic homestead, with surreptitious trance-acid and dimly lit pads suggestive of a secret plot to escape. The B-side's 'Outer Limits' responds with a more excitable jaunt, though by no means has our escape plan been scuppered by the authorities, with the mood continually driving, techy and methodical. Two remixes from Len Lewis and Magnus Asberg only add to the edge-of-your-seat excitement.

It finds him in great form with opener 'Seeing Colours' heading off down a nice liquid minimal route with crisp tech drums and twinkling synths up top to bring the magic. On the flip side is 'Plants', a rather serene and sublime cut with more rolling drums and plenty of deft synth designs that bring a certain celestial charm to the fizzing leads. Review: Art Gang Records bursts onto the scene with Volen's Stinger Pinger EP, shows the LA-based producer's highly energetic and intergalactic sound. The three original tracks are excellent dancefloor numbers perfectly suited for the dark-lit rooms of underground clubs. 'Go' kicks things off with a great groove and techy atmosphere, offering a fun and futuristic dancefloor workout complete with infectious melodies. 'Last Tab' follows suit with its heavy acid house stomper, delivering a relentless assault on the senses. On Side-2, the title track 'Stinger Pinger' is successful with its deep rhythm machine programming, catchy hooks, and jackin' beats, sure to keep the crowd moving till dawn. Markus Sommer's Gary Ablett Double Drop remix of 'Stinger Pinger' adds a groovy twist to the original, offering a fresh take that complements Volen's raw energy perfectly. 'I'm Down' is another rugged deep house cut with loose kick patterns and swirling pads. Ruh then brings her signature smoky basement house sounds to 'S41' with its rickety percussion and warm infusing of supple synths. 'S45' shuts down with dubbed-out drums and molten chords that serve as a perfect early evening warm-up.

Review: Romain Reynaud is one of the most respected names in techno for the past 15 years and over the last handful, he has also evolved to dabble in other styles as well. One of those different names he uses to create other styles is Brako and tthis is the fifth record he's made under this newer offshoot. 'Bandit' on the first side should really work well on the dancefloor regardless of their experience level in dance music. The beat is catchy and the rhythm is ideal to work in any part of an up-beat house DJ set. The underlying melodic parts sneak up on you which adds and extra treat for the depth of the production. 'Police' on the second side, has a more traditional house style to it. The magic is in the addictive simplicity of a well worked loop made perfect for the late-night. If you are big house music head and you want some unique takes on the style, then check these out!

Review: Burnski's Constant Black kicks with yet more robust tech house for considered dance floors. This one comes from the ever-present underground stalwart Diego Krause and he opens with 'Bound', a perfectly driving and deep cut with slinky drums and smart vocals that are brought to life with sci-fi synth effects. 'Munro' is brilliantly lithe and elegant, with wispy synth motifs peeling off a super smooth and slinky groove. 'Phantom' ups the pace with a little more tech house urgency but still plenty of deftly designed cosmic pads. 'Flux' shuts down with kinetic, tightly coiled drum funk and popping neon colours. Great work all around from Krause.

Review: Burnski and Kelper are two of the hottest artists in the game right now - their output is relentless, and their quality is always high. It is now on the former's Constant Sound that they appear with three fresh new collaborative cuts aimed squarely at the floor. 'Follow Me' has nice hooky drum loops and subtle synth stabs under a seductive vocal. It's fun and functional in equal measure and on the flip things get more naughty with hints of a dirty speed garage bassline under 'Frequency'. The vibe flips again on closer 'Frequency' which has disco-tinged loops and more laidback groves that bring a little warmth and sunshine.

Review: Tetsu Shibuya, better known as simply Tetsu or BRISA is a Japanese producer and DJ known for works on the iconic Japanese Jazzy Sport imprint, King Street sub-label Nite Grooves and his own BRISA Music. Leading the EP is title-track 'Stir', in collaboration with Turbojazz BRISA delivers a classic slice of deep house built upon layers of bright stab sequences and loose organic percussion. Detroit's beloved Jon Dixon turns his hand to 'Stir' next, encapsulating the soul of his hometown in reshaping fragments of the original composition. The original of 'Reverie' opens the B-side, laying down a broken rhythm, low-pitched vocal hooks and elongated bass grooves for a more bruk tinged feel. Byron The Aquarius then extracts the core of 'Reverie' and spins it into bumpy, subtly nuanced house workout. Lastly the third original 'Flux' rounds out the release, shifting deeper in funkinfused realms with a playful plucked bass groove and heavily swung drums.

Review: After the much loved Delano Smith remix of Gigi Galaxy's 'Interview With An Alien' turned so many heads, Det 313 label has secured three originals from the Detroit producer otherwise known to as Gary Martin. Each shows he has a unique approach to the art of groove making, with 'First Night In Lemuria (DET313 version)' slower and more restrained than many in the game - almost like a Sheffield bleep anthem pitched down and augmented with a delightful, prodding bassline. 'Spirit World' is the big room pleaser of the trio, with a bubbling acid arpeggio slowly degrading and re-building throughout and some lovely sci-fi synthery going on. 'Inevitable' is the cheekiest and cheeriest of the three, all sharpened hi-hats and swirling electro beats and breakdowns that reveal its simple but damn effective musical heart to all and sundry. Nice work all round.

Review: The latest on Djebali's label comes from M High, who knows exactly how to step up to the flavour of Parisian minimal tech house Djebali has made his name on all these years. 'Try To Make' is a perfect opener, riding on a sweetly swung groove with heavy, subby bass down low and Mood II Swing style dub chords chopping in up top. 'Othirty' is a more delicate affair with some psychedelic sound sweeps which really elevate the track into exciting new realms - something which could send an after hours dance spiralling. 'Stripped' locks back into that heads-down bounce from the first track and then the 'M Groove' mix of the track slips some extra funky percussion into the blend to make it a sassy strutter for the ages.

Things get punchy for 'Let's Get This' with its warped low ends and amped-up beats all seven to get you on your toes and vibing. Two classy and effective tunes for sure.

His EP The Fruitier The Better opens with a nice vibrant sound composed of smeared synths, fractured vocal loops, sultry female spoken words and pumping basslines that bring some fun to the 'floor. 'Heavenly Sedated' is another mix of tech, house, acid and minimal with a 90s vibe and lots of bright colours while 'Yo Yo Leven' gets more percussive and detailed with jungle sound effects and wet synths. 'Ode To Syd' is the trippy closer that rounds out a characterful EP.

Review: For those in the know, Marek Hemmann's 2009 album In Between is a mini classic of the era. It encapsulates the prevalent minimal styles of the day - a time when, in many eyes, the genre was at its creative height. Dubby undercurrents, stripped-back but effective drums, moody synth work and a range of different rhythms all make this a great album either digested as separate tracks for DJing or as a start-to-finish whole. The colourful melodies and weird and wonderful samples of 'Yvette' are a clear highlight, but there are plenty of standouts here.

Review: The Future Sound Of Sardinia follow hot on the heels of London, fixing yet one more cog to their prospective time machine with a new V/A compilation. 'Centuconcas' welcomes one contribution each from Claudio PRC, Agi Thoriu, Andrea Ferlin, and Jarpp. Each artist is caught exercising a deeper-into-their-own-pysches dub flavour than usual; PRC's sonic epigraph 'Uraki' is an impressive demonstration, unconsciously driving its sticky chording ricochets unto semi-conscious ears; Thoriu's 'Aressi' follows up with a neat fusion, yielding something between ambient future garage and a deep tribal entrainment; Ferlin's 'Hydra' is far more muted and operational in mood, veering more on lo-fi tech; and to close, Jarpp summons his inner MPC for 'Su Passu Turrau', taking its namesake from a traditional Italian line dance (but in actuality, the track sounds like nothing of the sort, unless we entertain the idea that this is the soundtrack to a line dance beamed in from the future...)

This one is another perfect masterclass in precise, stripped back grooves and it come son limited edition hand stamped 12". Opener 'Would We' is a dubbed out and loopy affair with nice deft chord smears, then 'Six's Vibe' picks up the pace with a more busy and driven drum line but still its of lush dub chords. 'Attenuation' closes out with another smooth causing groove that is warmed by the deft pad work and exudes real machine soul.

The record begins with the chunky house burner 'No Tantrums' that features MC Pryme laying some vocals over the track. 'Ochtend Glunderen' has a great mix of spacey sounds while still remaining focused and directed at a peak time dancefloor. For the second side, 'LSD (Love Saves The Day)' works a hedonistic tribal beat over some top tech house business. Lastly, 'Ghetto Mind Groove' is a clever change of pace that features a nice broken beat. Rocky Mc's over the top and helps get the party started right. Boris Werner is an experienced producer who know what kind of dance music works in the clubs.

Review: Toothpick aka Swirl People step out with their newly entitled label Lost In The Swirls, which they have distilled to the more simple name L.I.T.S. Records. The Belgium-based project is an alias of Dimitri & Raoul and they bring fresh house sounds here even though this is a reissue of some classic 90s material. The title track has lush and bright summer pads over driving, tight kick drums. The opener 'May The Funk Be With You' has a classic UK flavour to it with woodpecker-like hits and dusty drum loops under some smart chord work. Last but not least is 'Naked Speedway' which has a warm bassline meandering below expansive chords that bring an early morning vibe. Good stuff.

It's subtly epic, charged with sweeps of orchestration which tease at a big drop to come. Review: London's Mindhelmet label continue on strong with the whopping 14th top-up to their vinyl-only 12"s series. This time they welcome Cologne's very own Johannes Kolter to the fore, for four originals compared to his usual penchant for edits. Glitzy sonic skylines come portrayed on the likes of 'Euro Night' and 'Eternity', with hints of Italo and electro-pop conjuring mental glimpses of high-end fashion houses and handbags, while 'Crashy' revels in a skilful use of speed garage swing reminiscent of MJ Cole's production approach; finally, closer 'Lion, Ne Kaufen' indulges a muted chord sequence for a eventidal rave vibe.

Review: Wiremu popped up back in 2018 on Pathway Traxx, and now the wriggly minimal upstart is back with another crafty workout for those who like their stripped-down club gear a bit on the wonky side. 'The Subtle Hustle' has a springy, playful funkiness which calls to mind the mid-00s era of labels like Trimsound and Minibar, where there was space for a little jazziness in the miniscule samples darting around the drums. It's a quality which follows through the whole of this standout EP, which is teeming with detail and soul in equal measure.

Review: Mosaic main man and peerless UK dub techno titan Steve O'Sullivan has paired off against Fletcher for this latest heavyweight 12". As ever the foundations are solid on the opener 'Passenger' - smooth drums and bass perfectly sit with one another, but this one really comes alive with the most impossibly subtle but inescapably uplifting little chords that suggest that no matter what shit you have going on in your life, things will be OK. It's a classic amongst many on this label. 'With That' is another tight, compelling and tech tinged dub roller with real bite and drive, and 'Treading Water' then blisses you out with its liquid chords and sense of endless infinite groove.

Review: London/Brighton starchild Leo Christopher lays down his first EP for Murmurations after so-far forays with the likes of Blind Vision, Habits and Zingiber Audio. A hotbed of minimal tech tekkers in humanoid form, Christopher demos an adept flow, teasing his skills with the opening, natant knocks-and-bubblings of 'Pequena', shortly followed by the spits and synth swirls of 'Tubby'. The B-side brings further zoneouts in the form of 'Laidback' and 'Don't Worry About It', suggesting an easygoing turn of phrase and/or lifestyle.

Review: It has been a while since we heard from Subb An, the Brummy beatmaker who arose on the crest of a new school house wave more than 15 years ago now. He lands on My King Is Light here with a nice and stylish EP that brings dub and minimal to his usual tech sounds. 'Hoarfrost' is an icy and frictionless opener rippled with soft melodies that soothe the soul. 'Hoarfrost' (Meditation dub) is a beatless lullaby, and 'Point Of View' then brings a little more drive but still has plenty of depth to its designs. 'Breeze' is the best of the lot - a nice Bluetrain-style dub-out for the afters.

Review: Asad Rizvi, known as Silverlining, presents this white hot three-vinyl set showcasing his collaborative work with fellow artists. This collection spans the genres of minimal and tech house, tagged with elements of tech house, minimal, and breakbeat house. Some of the highlights include 'If You Were A Cat You'd Follow Me' by Appleheadz with its jazzy downtempo future jazz vibe, evoking a smooth and melodic atmosphere. Followed by 'In My Sky' (instrumental), delivering smooth melodic tech house adorned with jazz guitar and soft keys. The set continues with 'Taken Over,' a melodic house gem from Bluegoose Vs Silverlining, exuding infectious rhythms and melodic hooks. Review: Omakase, which is the name of a style of Japanese dining that means literally 'I leave it up to you' and gives full control of a meal to the chef in question, is also now an ever more vital minimal label. This is its third outing and one with Antraum at the helm. It kick off with 'Hyaku' with its bluesy vocal samples and lazy, infectious drum loops, then has 'Shichi' has more silky and spaced out pads and smooth grooves. 'Rei' is a dreamy one with balmy chords making for a trippy late night day dream and is the sort of track that will zoned out dance floors at 5 am. A tasteful EP for sure.

Review: The secretive Only Music Matters label rolls out its seventh EP here and it's from an unknown producer or producers who seem to have a love of tech house. Opener 'AAA001A' is a warped cut for freaky 'floors with trippy vocal details and gloopy beats and bass. 'BBB001B' is more airy and light in its silky minimal rhythms but is detailed with some paranoid pads that keep you on edge while 'BBB002B' rides a nice gritty, propulsive beat and has some wonky, detuned keys adding colour. Another great outing from this low-key but high-quality label.

Review: Overground label co-founder Rickie is next up with four classy outings that operate in the worlds of minimal and tech house. First out of the blocks is the nice and futurist 'Foreknowledge' with its beeps and pulses colouring steely tech grooves. 'Controversial Sequence' is more zoned out with balmy pads bringing some far-sighted cosmic ambiance and 'Experiment X' on the flip does as all B1 cuts should - gets more loose and weirder for the late-night crew with wispy melodies and panning synth drones. 'Revolution' shuts down with a nice rueful and melancholic feel in the pads.
