Review: As the matter-or-fact title suggests, '80s Remixed & Extended delivers three discs of alternative 12" versions of well-known and mostly well-loved pop, soul and dance cuts from the decade of hairspray, MTV and rampant consumerism. Naturally, there are plenty of stone cold classics present - Coldcut's "People Hold On", Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up", Hall & Oates' "I Can't Go For That", and so on - but the collection's strongest selling point are the lesser-known 12" versions dotted across the three discs. These include a long forgotten Francois K remix of Adam Ant, a sparkling Shep Pettibone tweak of Five Star, and the surprisingly dubby, low-slung 12" version of Men At Work's gloriously silly "Down Under".
