Sem Crew (5:32)
Grillz  (4:42)
Front Door (4:24)
Love U (4:12)
Review: The journey of intrigue on Secretsundaze continues unabated as they welcome Lisbon-born, London-based producer Silvestre to the label. He'd previously dropped bombs on Meda Fury, Diskotopia and Padre Himalaya, and now he's bringing an unconventional flair to the Sundaze crew in line with the ear-snagging leftfield club fare they've been tapping into of late. Cheeky samples, analogue synth wriggles and snagging breaks are all par for the course, but more crucially there's a warm and gritty flavour to all the tracks that makes them stand out from so many pristine modern mixdowns. Classy, inventive stuff from a talented producer on the rise.

The 90's Generation (8:56)
Cold Touch (8:08)
Review: Priku's Atipic Lab turns to local Romanian artist Cosmjn who returns in a fine vein of form. He makes no bones about his intentions and influences on the opener 'The 90's Generation' which is a dark, stark, cold tech beat that is albeit inviting. The hi hats spin endlessly and the bass is blippy and bleepy. 'Cold Touch' then heads off into the cosmos with roomy pads and an airy groove that is tinged with electro goodness. Both of these are timeless cuts that will work on a wide range of dance floors.

Past Present (8:06)
Path Of Most Resistance (7:08)
Vitamin (7:13)
Review: Pepe Bradock's - Path Of Most Resistance is a seminal EP, and not only is the title of this new one from Direkt very similar, but his sound design is just as off grid and curious. That makes his tech house tunes all the more appealing. 'Past Present' is squelchy beats, tinny hist and warped pads that all coalesce around a dry beat. 'Path Of Most Resistance' then gets lost in the cosmos with circling pads and dreamy soundscapes layered up over another subtle metallic drum groove. 'Vitamin' cuts loose at the afters, with alien forms and speedy, overlapping kicks hurrying you ever deep into the night.

DJ Deep - "Batu" (6:09)
Traumer - "Batu" (9:34)
Review: You don't get producers any more versatile than these two Parisian experts. DJ Deep and Roman Poncet team up once again to throw down some quality house music on new imprint Tatum. DJ Deep takes over the A side with some low slung and dreamy deep disco vibe on 'Batu', while Poncet takes over on the flip. It is business as usual under the Traumer alias with the hypnotic and bass driven minimal/tech house of 'Batu' (yes, same name) with Latin-infused elements throughout. Perfect jams for the warm-up or afterhours alike - tip!

Waiting For Rob (7:02)
Waiting For Rob (Tim Schlockermann remix) (6:14)
Vimto Paradox (7:07)
Cap Snatching (5:26)
Review: Following on from Robert James' Revenge Of The Wasp 12" and a classy VA release, Body Movement is back with a new drop from Harry Wills. Wills has been building up a name for himself across a slew of releases on labels like Holding Hands, 2X, Lemak and Subsequent, and his sound is accomplished and engaging on this fresh batch of tracks. 'Waiting For Rob' is a warm and shimmering track that splits the difference between sharp tech house and fluttering melodic electro, which Tim Schlockermann then remixes into a low slung, broken beat mood that leans on the bass. 'Vimto Paradox' takes things into moodier territory with a broad sweep of keys spelling out an eerie mood around a minimal beat. 'Cap Snatching' finishes the EP off with a more overtly electro construction marked out with snappy acid flecks and a crisp 808-esque beat.

Cop Porn & Pop Corn (5:44)
We Shall Not Surrender (7:15)
Review: Stirring sounds from Marc Leclair as he reminds us what we're all fighting for right now with 'We Will Not Surrender.' The battle kicks off with his signature bounce and jazzy flurries on 'Crackerz & PBJ', the type of dynamite that would kick right off the middle of a Derrick Carter set. It's back by plenty more firepower; the springy disco glitches and waves of 'Touch It', the supreme boogie of the deliciously titled 'Cop Porn & Pop Corn' and the almighty climax that is the title track; big pianos, emotions and pure euphoria... That's what we're fighting for. Viability never sounded so sweet.

Monza (6:55)
Levo (6:54)
Review: Nick Curly's ever-present 8 Bit Records has always served up slinky and loopy tech house. The Mannheim based label continues with that trend here thanks to a new one from Oliver Schories, a venerated producer whose handy tunes always sell out whether on triple vinyl for Pracht, as was the case with his album last year, on a red hot 12" for the likes of Parquet. Here he kicks off with the dreamy deep tech loops of 'Monza', with wonky piano chords draped over the grainy beats. 'Levo' ups the ante with more raw texture and extra bite in the beats, but also a fine soulful vocal sample.

NND - "Electronic Device" (6:03)
Review: Having previously offered-up well-regarded EPs from Samo, Matteo, Robbenspierre and Samuel Padden, Where We Met offshoot THREADS has now decided to deliver a multi-artist extravaganza. Dormald kicks things off via the rugged and intense stomp of 'Electrodorm', where ragged acid lines rise and fall atop a tough but shuffling drum machine beat, before Jos wraps sci-fi synth motifs around foreboding bass and crunchy tech-house beats on 'Transmission'. Grapevibe reaches for spacey bleeps and echoing chords on the smooth and hypnotic 'Night Distance', while NND's EP-closing 'Electronic Device' is as blissfully picturesque as its rhythmically addictive.

Review: After a strong 2020 on labels such as The Other Side, Pleasure Zone and Damn!, Romanian artists Guy From Downstairs serves up his debut studio album Oceanic. Every bit as deep, wavey, and full of hidden secrets, across the two 12"s we're treated to tidal wave of soaking wet grooves. Highlights include the slippery filters worming their way all over 'Low Life Low Bass', the depth plunge bass/kick hits and soft harmonic ebbs and flows of 'AMC' and the gentle rolls and pushes of the 10 minute delight that is the title track. Dubfound - "PDLK" (10:08)
Amin Ravelle - "Ladarto" (8:11)
Dorothy's Dream - "C'Hai Creduto Eh?" (7:31)
Review: Berlin-based imprint Rumenigge return with more abstract and ominous expressions in minimal techno on this various artists EP. On side A we have Dubfound, a Moldova based producer and DJ who heads up the labels Swoon, Nurum and Zimotik. His contribution on Trident Vol. 3 is 'PDLK', a deep and woozy number on the tribal side, which is perfect for getting weird at the afterhours. Even more Sunday morning styled tackle awaits you on side B, with the very disorienting groove paranoia of Amin Ravelle's 'Ladarto' where the Barcelona-based producer serves up something you would expect to hear during one of Rhadoo's infamous Monday morning sets at Hoppetosse. Closing it out is Dorothy's Dream with the funked up Sunwaves breaks of 'C'Hai Creduto Eh?'.

Magnus Asberg - "Do It (FilOu remix)" (6:48)
Review: After a turn from Ted Amber last year, Romana returns with a split release from FilOu and label mainstay Magnus Asberg. FilOu takes the lead on the A side with dark and seductive piece 'Avron', which Asberg then completely shakes up with a classically minimal remix populated by all kinds of wriggling blips and beeps. On the B side, Asberg's original 'Do It' continues the theme of playful micro elements bobbing around the mix. FilOu then hops back on for a remix, dutifully spacing out the original with some more immersive elements that sit around the steady, stripped-back beat

The Darkest (8:13)
Expression (7:48)
Review: No one does minimal techno as well as the Romanians (bar a few famously notable exceptions) and that remains as true as ever in 2021 as Arapu proves here. This sumptuous three tracker comes on the Liniar label and opens with a 2 minute epic. It's all subtle sine waves and blistered sound effects, delicate melodic hooks and flappy, floating drums. 'The Darkest' heads more into the shadows and rides along at a slicer pace with freaky vocals and haunting keys then 'Expression' sits somewhere in between. It's abstract electronic sound sources meshing well with a fluid rhythm that gets right under the skin.

Jazzed In Time (Chris Stussy remix) (6:33)
Review: East End Dubs knows how to craft compelling minimal tech and house grooves from the most economical of sound pallets. He still has a sound that is all his own and manages to make you want to dance for days despite his own self imposed limitations. This new EP for Up The Stuss is another case in point. 'Holo' opens with a farting bassline under nice slick hi hats as the drums duck and dive and you do too. 'Bec's Groove' then gets more heady, with swirling pads circling round a nice vocal and nimble hits and 'Jazzed In Time' plays with more freeform chords over punchy, rubbery kicks that make you thrust your fist skyward. Chris Stussy remixes with a sense of late night cool.

Scenario (Arapu remix) (11:55)
Review: Think returns for second EP after a well received debut last year. This one is from the mysterious Italian artist Viceversa, who on this evidence likes deep, melodic sounds from the fringes of the dance floor. 'Scenario' is impressively trippy, colourful, airy and light as the beats skip along beneath reflective melodies. 'Tentenone' gets more unhinged and deep, with twisted bass funk and rasping synths all bobbing up and down and taking you with them. Arapu is left to close out the Ep with a nice floating groove that suspends you in the cosmos.

Review: Adam Pits gets his 'International Wafter' served up on its own 12" here along with a super selection of remixes. It still sounds fantastic with its rubbery kicks and corrugated bass rolling at an inviting mid tempo. Label mainstay Ciel then steps up for a first remix that pairs everything back to cavernous, bouncy drums and watery effects and rhythm innovator Roza Terenzi remixes '
Motion Sensor' into a brightly lit and pixelated melodic rave up with thumping kicks and endless cosmic rains. Last of all, Seb Wildblood brings a tribal take on deep techno with his surging kicks and pulsing pads all melting your mind.
