Iredream! 11 (vocal mix) (10:37)
Iredream! 11 (dub mix) (10:42)
Review: The mysterious Redream! 11 pops up out of nowhere with an instantly winning sound present on this 12" of the same name. Two tracks, two pieces of soulful minimalism: the vocal mix splatters its way left, right and centre with clicking beats and a growling low-end which slowly surfaces from beneath along with poppy blues vocals, while the dub is more militant and strips those vocals into fine threads which disappear into the deep realms of the mix.

African Man (Ricardo Vilalobos & Max Loderbauer remix) (12:12)
Go Back (feat Damon Albarn - Fort Romeau Absolut remix) (5:50)
Review: Tony Allen's most recent long player, Film Of Life, is revisited here with both Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer, and rising house producer Fort Romeau tasked with remixing the Nigerian drummer's work. Vilod, as they are preferring to be called these days, sit up top with a typically long form take on "African Man" which reconstitutes the blaring horn funk of Allen's original piece into a subtle 12 minute reduction of electronic house music. On the flip Ghostly artist Fort Romeau reimagines the Damon Albarn featuring "Go Back" as whispy, deep house with some charming analogue synth flourishes.

This Thing For Wil (7:04)
Track 2 (Locked Groove) (1:00)
36th New St (7:31)
Track 4 (Locked Groove) (1:00)
Review: A byword for quality house fare, the Djebali label has proved liberating for Paris fixture Medhi Djebali and popular with vinyl selectors. After handing Hold Youth the keys to his monstrous track "Only Time Will Tell" for the most recent Reworks 12", Djebali is back on the original productions flex here with a 12" that pairs up two classy cuts with two locked grooves. You know what the latter do so let's focus on the full productions from Djebali with "This Thing For Wil" a fluttering groove that will ease into any DJ set whilst the flip "36th New St" sees the Parisian opt for a classic New York garage flavour.

Presamble (6:45)
Addicted (Sinob Satosi Paranormal mix) (7:33)
Review: Active as a producer of minimally-inclined techno since 2007, Barcelona's Chris Turan has come to wider attention of late as Sonodab thanks to contributions for the likes of Fear of Flying, Trazable Recordings, Kina Music, Infuse, and his own eponymous label. A debut here for Tokyo-based Fasten Musique will only help facilitate this rise with the Monomial EP a suitably solid 12" featuring three originals by Sonodab backed by a remix from emergent Japanese talent Sinob Satosi. Crisp drums, deep bassline grooves and far off crackling textures punctuate the mood for the most part, with "Inverse Rhythm" a standout inclusion.

Northern Lights (11:02)
Drawn From The Side Of Crime (12:49)
Review: It's been a while since we heard from the Cobblestone Jazz boys and given their massive influence over contemporary house and techno, it's always a pleasure to listen to their truly singular take on dance music. The Matthew Jonson-led outfit return with an EP for the Itiswhatitis label, the original birthplace of Jonson's beats. "Northern Lights" is classic Cobblestone, where an ultra compressed kick meanders amidst calculated drips of sound pouring mathematically from every angle. "Drawn From The Side Of Crime" is a little more chirpy, its sounds bleeping away with greater intensity and freedom. It's a must have for fans of the group, recommended!

Wu Wei (10:42)
Drumu' Starii (9:49)
Review: The Great Empty Circle label launches with a 12" from Funk E, a Romanian producer who's been plying his trade on various imprints since 2012. To date, his material has largely stuck to the German techno blueprint, with powerful rhythms offset by minimal-influenced textures and late night electronics. A-side "Wu Wei" continues in this vein, with intricately programmed, rolling percussion and occasional bursts of downbeat melody tracking an impressively addictive bassline. "Drumu Starii" flips the script slightly, pairing the producer's usual locked-in rhythms with yearning vocal samples and "Deep Burnt" filter chords. The result is a track that blends the melodic, soul-flecked idealism of deep house, with the metronomic rhythms of techno.

Nu Zau - "Noise" (11:35)
Anrilov & Bvoice - "Budet" (8:32)
Adjusment Bureau - "Times Goes By" (7:55)
Clovis - "Rose Bleue" (11:20)
Review: Moscow label BodyParts Records has become a byword for quality minimal fare since its emergence a few years back and this latest offering is their most comprehensive yet. V3 pairs up six producers across two slabs of vinyl and will probably become one of those double packs that doesn't leave your box. The future tribalism of Nu Zau's "Noise" stands out here, as does the bristling abstract grooves of Anrilov & Bvoice collaboration "Budet". The chiming beauty and simple beats of "Rose Bleue" by Clovis might just be our favourite contribution here however.

Seraphim (Frank & Tony Breakaway remix) (5:55)
Worship (feat Qzen - Dana Ruh remix) (7:17)
Feel Free (Dorisburg remix) (6:45)
Worship (feat Qzen - Alan Doe remix) (6:34)
Review: Following the release of their debut LP, 'Keep Up Appearances' on their new label Modelmaker, Dan Berkson and James What draft in Frank & Tony, Dana Ruh, Dorisburg and Alan Doe for remixes.
Berkson & What have chalked up many releases on Poker Flat and Crosstown Rebels over the years whilst most recently turning heads outside of their own Modelmaker imprint via singles for Dogmatik and Seth Troxler's Play it Say It. The duo's LP, released in January, marked a new chapter in their production history and has seen support from Josh Wink, Mr G and Skream over the past few months.
'Keep Up Appearances - Remixes' opens with Anthony Collins and Francis Harris' superb Frank & Tony alias taking on 'Seraphim' which results in a tense but understated piece of layered, classic sounding house music while Dana Ruh, fresh from her excellent debut LP on Underground Quality last year, drops an eerie recreation of 'Worship' that draws on spacey synths and unsettling ambience.
Dorisburg, known for outstanding material on Sweden's Aniara amongst others, continues a sterling run of form with a rendition of 'Feel Free' which employs soaring chords to fashion a luscious and elevating take on the original. Rounding off the package is Berlin producer Alan Doe, an artist who debuted on Rue De Plaisance in 2014. Doe's 'Worship' remix is squarely dancefloor-aimed with punchy kicks, smokey effects and teasing keys.

Sweet Potato (10:17)
Salted Lemon (10:32)
Review: After a breakout debut 12 months last year with a triplet of killer 12"s, Ilario Liburni's emergent Cardinal operation has really built on that momentum so far in 2015. The founder himself kicked proceedings off with the two-part release The Devil Is In The Details and now Cardinal have secured some polished groovers from Romanian producer Zefzeed. Hailing from Timis, Western Romania, Zefzeed has quickly established himself as one of the country's brightest production talents and the two tracks on Sweet Potato are an apt demonstration of why he's so highly regarded. There's a delightful off-centre feel to the drums on "Sweet Potato" with a thick atmospheric soup slowly enveloping the track, whilst "Salted Lemon" pulses with kinetic energy over a steady kick arrangement.

Barrump (6:24)
Make A Cake (6:03)
Review: Claude Vonstroke, the American minimal house and techno sensation who has always released quality output through his very own Dirtybird imprint and who has also catered us with a vast collection of previously unknown artists from around the world. While he has been keeping busy doing a&r work in recent years, the man returns with two of his own tracks, a pair of ingenious little floor stompers to blow your speakers out. "Barrump" is classic Claude, where miniscule vocal samples are torn down and manipulated into quasi-melodies amid his inimitable blends of tribalism. On the B-side, "Make A Cake" is similarly playful in its sampling approach and it's sure to work wonders on those August beach parties on the Balearic islands.

Alfred Tailor (original mix) (10:10)
Torino Soul (original mix) (4:45)
Alfred Tailor (Laurine Frost remix) (11:21)
Review: The second of the UNTLD Protagonist Series, by Furz, savours the spirit of Alfred Tailor, an influential figure in the development of the bright young artist, whose first EP is strong and smooth, with raw energy, sultry and primal. The title track is remixed by Laurine Frost, who inspired by the South American hypnosis of the artist, takes it further, developing the dialogue and deepening the percussive structure, whilst maintaining the mystique and spirit of Alfred Tailor. The second original work on the record, entitled 'Torino Soul' is an ode to the automobile of Alfred Tailor, it opens serenely as if racing through the valleys of Cordoba's horizon, scenery rushing by on a hot day. Amidst this, the mechanical metal of the engine revolves in it place, as we are rushed forward, and the voice heard a memory both of the machine and the man, Alfred Tailor.

Cybekks (6:11)
Anton I (2:25)
Volta Cobby (7:24)
Anton II (2:30)
Review: You could say Robag Wruhme has been around the block a few times, thanks to a storied career that's seen him release music with Sonar Kollektiv, Circus Company and the many extensions of the Kompakt family. This latest release for Pampa is his second appearance on DJ Koze's label and he delivers a varied EP of sounds, ranging from the sewer techno of "Cybekks" to the crackly, John Beltran-like ambience of "Anton I". "Volta Cobby" is a sizzling cut for the summer festival stage (good timing Pampa) while "Anton II" is another ambient session, this time a little more animated thanks to chimes similar to what's heard in Pantha Du Prince's music. A record for the festival or the chilled out lounge room.

SOTU'z (6:42)
Review: Last year's Personal Momentz was perhaps Colin McBean's finest long player to date as Mr G, and a fine way to pay homage to his father whose passing away inspired the set. How to possibly improve on the album? What about a 12" addendum featuring a quartet of Mr G productions laid down in the same recording sessions. Personal Momentz (Add On+) is, obviously, quintessential Mr G, four cuts of dub tinged house music that will slot perfectly into any selector's sets with the unashamedly vibrant "Lot To Say..." a stand out inclusion. Mr G you are just too good to us.

Nomans (9:45)
Review: Kreon aka Markos Spanoudakis has quietly unleashed his own brand of club-ready tool house over the last nine years and he's appeared on the likes of Robsoul, among others. For this latest slice of slap-up tech-house he comes through for the Equivalence label's second outing with two ripe and ready floor cuts: the first "Yosone" is a twisted and utterly caved-in mutant for the more daring of DJ sets, while "Nomans" clicks and clutters its way through beats and hi-hats, a minimal timebomb in a that true Minus flavour. Hot and raw, glitchy and wet!
