Burning (5:36)
Moving On (6:00)
Review: Fresh from unveiling his dancefloor "Dreams" on Warehouse Rave, Soundbwoy Killah pops up on the recently launched Hundred Flowers label with two more peak-time stunners that are sure to become anthems before the year is out. Loleatta Holloway-sampling opener "Burning" has been hyped to the heavens thanks to DJ support from Mall Grab and others, but it's more than worthy of praise. Built around classic, hip-house-era breakbeats, weighty sub-bass and one of the most recognizable vocal samples in dance music history, it's the kind of cut that will do the business every time it's dropped. "Moving On", meanwhile, is glassy-eyed and gorgeous, with ricocheting vocal samples and dreamy chords rising above a polyrhythmic breakbeat groove.

Into U (vocal) (4:58)
Into U (instrumental) (4:58)
Review: Grande designs from Ikonika as she unleashes her long coveted bootleg of Ariana's massive "Into U". Built around an industrial-strength 80s style track that Madonna would have swapped her full holiday entitlement for, it's less of a bootleg and more of a complete revision as the vocals cut through the mix and wrap around each element like they were meant to be. Your crowd don't want the full vox treatment? Flip for the equally sharp instrumental.

New Style (4:42)
Too Nuff (3:30)
London Warehouse (3:20)
Ready Again (5:36)
Review: Sometime Arcola artist Basic Rhythm returns to action via a fine four-track missive on Hypercolour's rave-inspired little sister, Sneaker Social Club. As you might expect, he's hit the mark once again via a quartet of cuts that gleefully blur the boundaries between a myriad of bass-music styles. We're particularly enjoying the broken computer style electronics, scattergun drums and discordant sci-fi sounds of "Too Nuff" and the Actress style madness of "London Warehouse", though we could also make a case for the sludgy vocal samples, post-dubstep pulse and weighty sub of "Ready Again" and slightly more melodious "New Style". In other words, it's a very strong EP.

Agrippa - "U C Me" (6:27)
Henry Greenleaf - "In Same" (5:23)
Meta - "Fault Line" (6:51)
Review: Agrippa builds on his previous on the likes of Version and Brotherhood Sound System and takes to the runway with his brand new imprint Par Avion. Flight path set to the darkest corner of the known bass universe as the captain lays down another brutal fractured neck snapper in the form of "U C Me", label mate and compadre Henry Greenleaf flips the coin for a more intergalactic mission before Meta brings us right down to earth with the techno shatter jam "Fault Line" that feels like an appropriately venomous and paranoid update on Woolford's classic "Erotic Discourse". Ready for take off?

The Mandrake (4:55)
Tinned (6:36)
Review: We all know that the cry of the mandrake is fatal to anyone who hears it... But when its cries are being conducted by Italian bass fusioneer Piezo, we are safe from harm. In fact we're safer; Piezo's jams have been building up serious tension since his Artikal releases a few years back, and these are his most inventive yet. "The Mandrake" carries ghosts of his signature percussion but kick with a much heavier techno sensibility. "Tinned" then takes those mandrake cries, packages them in cans and rolls them from the nearest high hill. Watch them bounce, clatter and cause total chaos.

Review: Little is still known about Butterfred besides the fact that their melting pot can withstand a lot of ingredients and influences. From lo-fi hip hop to grime to dancehall to UKG to bass to Detroit to bare naked experimentalism, the flavours are tangible. They also seem to be pretty prolific as this is the second album in less than a year. And, just like LP 1, it's a beguiling, far-reaching experience that spans from the broken b-boy grunts of "Make It Work" and "Now You Know" to the glacial slo-mo techno of "Magnesium" and the oceanic bliss of "Shove It". Vast and stark; we can believe it's Butterfred.

Pressure (6:47)
Frenzied (5:57)
Dirty Palette Cleanser (7:50)
Review: Glaswegian bone shaker Pseudopolis returns with his long awaited second release on his own highly limited Redstone Press and it's straight business with the gritty bumping bleep jam "Yaris Crew". More thunder follows with the rolling dubby techno hypnosis of "Pressure" before "Frenzied" hits home with a vicious Stingray joint, all bleak breakbeats and pad harried paranoia. Finally, "Dirty Palette Cleanser" closes the set. While it sounds like it's something straight out of the Viz Profanisaurus, it's actually the softest cut of the bunch with its skipping beats and soft trancey arpeggio. Grab this while you can.

Grandeur (5:35)
Review: Enigmatic Myst returns to Fent Plates after over a year and a half of release silence. Picking up the pieces of us he left shattered all over the floor with "Naturesque", once again is a sprawling, beguiling saga that takes in the broadest of scenes from far away strings and poignant cries of "Calina" to the upbeat warm classic house subversions of "Betamax" by way of the tightly coiled graveyard twostep of "Ender". And that's just half the story. Myst's mystery continues...
