Review: The Brooklyn-based producer and White Material Records affiliate Galcher Lustwerk re-emerges with a new imprint and four of his own deep, contorting house cuts with The Parlay EP. Fans of his "100% GALCHER" promo mix will immediatedly recognize the tracks on this release, which have been re-mixed and calibrated for club play. The hazy but hard hitting production and laid back vocals are all here, with a bonus dub version of the title track.

Review: Dungeon Meat are back with a bang and start 2015 with a mighty slam of the hammer . The 4th EP to come from the dungeons and a special one as the boys enlist one of their long time inspirations POINT G aka DJ Gregory to deliver his first ep for the label . This heavy 3 track collection marks the first collaboration between the Parisian don and Leeds' finest beat butchers . An alliance that will have fans of both artists hot under the collar . DM are very honoured to be the first label outside of POINT G's own imprints to release a full ep from him. Here POINT G delivers a selection of his trademark stripped back club bangers ready to do the damage on any dance floor . If this is a taste of things to come then we can't wait to hear what is served up in the near future from this united force.

Mme Hayo (Deep Terror mix)
Mme Hayo (Esa remix)
Mme Hayo (William Kouam Djoko Dreammix)
Review: REPRESS: The second release from the Hlanganani label lives up to it's MO to provide a platform for talented producers from South Africa to shine, focusing here on Deep Sixty, aka young and fast-rising producer Johannesburg producer Thabiso Mamogwa. Back in 2010, the producer made it to London to take part in the Red Bull Music Academy, which is when the HLANG team first heard the tracks that make up the Mme Hayo EP whilst some studio time on the same trip with Todd 'Soundmurderer' Osborn resulted in the "Thursday Nights" track which Mamogwa previously self-released. In addition to Deep Sixty's own 'Deep Terror' mix of "Mme Hayo", the label have coaxed some fine remixes out of Esa and William Kouam Djoko.

Review: REPRESS ALERT: Despite only a few releases, the Electronic deep house sound of Vibraphone Records and the production team behind it had a major impact on the international 1990's dance scene. The original 90's vinyl are now considered precious collectors items. Revitalized by an increasingly new young audience interest this label has reached a cult status and it is now been re-launched via Juno Records. Produced by The True Underground Sound of Rome team all the tracks included in this re-released are characterized by a heavenly atmosphere and a cinematic sound. This 2 X 12" EP contains the analog re-mastered version of the original 6 tracks first released in 1992 plus 2 new bonus tracks.

Review: Galcher Lustwerk's second release on his own Lustwerk Music imprint presents more tracks off the revered Blowing Up The Workshop promo mix, "100% GALCHER", as well as a bonus dub of the title track. These murky, chugging club anthems continue Lustwerk's tradition of menacing synths, hard hitting percussion and smokey hip hop vocals. A must for the inclusion of the immense "Cricket's Theme" alone!!!

Sly (5:58)
Ghost Dub (6:50)
Review: The Adesse Versions project has previously given us superb re-edits, remixes and re-makes of tunes from Photek, Mikey Dread, Madonna and Vikter Duplaix. Here he once again mines the past, delivering dancefloor interpretations (available in Dub and vocal forms) of cuts from Japan and Massive Attack. The two versions of the former's tearjerker "Ghosts" stick to the feel of the original, turning them into moody, atmospheric, stretched out and dub-wise deep house cuts with serious dancefloor potential. "Sly" sounds like a speeded-up version of Trevor Jackson's Underdog remix with added house swing and delay-laden vocal cuts. It's actually rather good, and impeccably executed as always.

Pacific Paradise (4:35)
I Can't (8:03)
Relaxed (6:59)
Review: London's Lobster Theremin doesn't care about being limited or exclusive and the label have no problem in repressing the more in-demand records. Route 8's Dry Thoughts, for instance, has been getting plenty of repress requests from you lot, and here it is, packed in a lovely 2nd edition look for the collectors. In case you didn't know about its existence, these are three rough-edged house-techno hybrids for the long sets: "Pacific Paradise" is a driving head-nodder with plenty of atmospheric processing, "I can't" is a swinging house duster, while "Relaxed" bops to and fro with mild chords and a gritty layer of analogue fuzz. Don't miss it again!

Review: New Kids on the family! From Malta arrives two masters of deep house. OWEN JAY & MELCHIOR SULTANA. Pure groove and elegance is what overflows in all of their tracks. Last year they release a lot of top tracks on labels like Minuendo Recordings, Moods & Grooves and also work on their own acclaimed label Batti Batti. With this level of production, could not miss a top remixer. And for this occasion Troubled Kids has an eminence of Deep House. KAI ALCE owner of NDATL MUZIK. Review: There was much gnashing of teeth from committed vinyl enthusiasts when Maurice Fulton decided to release his latest Boof full-length - the follow-up to 2011's inspired Sshh, Dandelions at Play - solely as a digital download. Having rescued that album from obscurity via a physical release, Gerd Janson has decided to do the same with The Hydrangeas Whisper, here delivering a vinyl version. Given the album's undoubted quality, it's something of a result for wax-maniacs everywhere. While Fulton takes a few odd turns - see the dubbed-out, trippy title track and after-party techno throb of "Backlash" - for the most part it's as expected, with the Chicagoan-in-London delivering a typically jazzy, disco-flecked range of sweet, life-affirming dancefloor cuts.

ADG (8:43)
Review: Since re-launching his Point G project following a 14-year absence in 2012, "DJ" Gregory Dorsa has provided listeners with some killer deep house. Here he unleashes four more gems, with each track afforded its' own side of wax to guarantee the best sound quality. "You" is moody and atmospheric, with dense, African-influenced percussion, bittersweet strings and wonderfully drawn-out chords. "Air" retains the same depth whilst reaching for some gently bumpin', Chez Damier-influenced rhythms, while "Strike A Pause" is delightfully sweaty and breathless, thanks in no small part to Derrick Carter style beats and cut-up saxophone stabs. Finally, "ADG" offers a sub-heavy riff on the same theme, which odd vocal samples adding to the hedonistic mood.

Walk (6:10)
Walk (Soulphiction remix) (6:19)
I On You (6:12)
Review: Delusions Of Grandeur have been relatively quiet on the release front this year, but they're back with a bang thanks to this latest collaborative effort from Dan Shake and Medlar. The former has gotten a name thanks to being the first non-Detroiter on Moodymann's Mahogani Music, while the latter has been pushing his disco-friendly take on house music largely via the Wolf Music imprint. They got two cuts on here, the first one being a boogie-leaning, hazy summer club jam in the form of "Walk", and the second one a jazzier affair with plenty of soulful vocals and tribal drums called "I On You". Philpot bossman Soulphiction takes care of transforming "Walk" into a pot of filter-licking madness, where the percussion is stretched and freaked out further out into the ether compared to the original. What a package!

What's Your Nem (5:53)
Review: Fabrizio Ortella, or simply Ortella as most house aficionados know him, bounces his way through with the second chapter of the Mad In Lyon series for DJ Steaw and Gunnter's Rutilance Recordings. Much like the first instalment, the EP opens with heavy licks and laid-back trips in the form of "Suck My Deep" and the faster, more dubbed-out "Dirty Mindz". Over on the flip, "This Beat" swings and grinds its way through gun-toting kick drums and funky swirls of melody, whereas "What's Your Nem" goes in deeper and takes out the classic deep house chords for a spin. Quality output.

Review: Vienna in da House! The latest release from Intimate Friends invites Viennese producer par excellence Roman Rauch into the fold for the Essig Jazz EP. Straight from the home of the Wiener schnitzel, Roman is of course known for almost a dozen releases on labels like Endless Flight, Philpot and Quintessentials. The Austrian is on fine fettle here with three twisted and rolling productions; the spoken word delivery from Caits Meissner on "Got To Be" is something of a highlight as is the wonderfully messed up remix of the title track from Glenn Astro.

Review: SMALL and Paco together make the Politics Of Dancing project, a Parisian duo who operate their label under the same name, offering deep and funky house cuts aimed at the dancefloor. This time they've brought the legendary Hector Moralez along with them "No Pressure", a percussion-heavy house tool with a bumping Chicago bassline and a deep, menacing offspring of a dub mix, to boot! There's a couple of remixes, too, the first coming from John Dimas who strips things down to their bare bones, and Paris' own Franck Roger, master of funky yet dark club house.

Review: Yoshinori Hayashi should be a familiar name to those who follow Going Good's podcast series. The Tokyo-based DJ/producer's contribution remains one of the series' most magical moments. Here, he graduates to the label proper, delivering a debut 12" single packed full of thrillingly loose, languid and organic deep house gems. Seemingly as influenced by experimental jazz-funk and vintage ambient house and tried-and-tested dancefloor grooves, there's an intricacy and oddity to Hayashi's tracks that make them little less than essential. Opener "Gecko" is a hazy downtempo delight, while bongo-laden, lo-fi deep houser "Madame Moo" comes smothered in seagull samples and humid synthesizer lines. Best of all, though, is "A Castle", a delay-laden saunter through jazz-funk/deep house/soundtrack fusion.

Fresh from his EP on Fina Records, Detroit-based producer Appian contributes a thumping track to this 12". Russian producer Alex Danilov returns to RHR with a love story to acid. The Rainbow Song (7:18)
The Rainbow Song (S3A Broken SSL remix) (5:40)
Review: Following a surprise outing on House of Disco, Ludovic Llorca returns to Local Talk for the first time since 2013's much played The Same Thing EP. In its' original form, The Rainbow Song is a near perfect example of Llorca's particular brand of deep house - all stretched-out chords, a bustling bassline, tough but shuffling beats, cute cowbells and bluesy vocal samples. It sounds like an underground summer anthem in waiting. There's more of a funk-flecked urgency about the excellent S3A Broken STL Remix, which introduces further vocal samples and, arguably, an even more addictive groove. Certainly, it feels a little wilder than the original, whilst retaining Llorca's unique deep house perspective.

Review: A fifth edition of the Mosaic Split Series arrives, pairing up productions from Anne Errez and Clandestine, the production duo consisting of UK house/techno mainstays, Neville Watson and Justin 'Peace Division' Drake. Errez, of course, featured on the previous edition of this series and it's clear the Leeds-based artist has made an impression on Steve O'Sullivan with her tough stabs and dub flecked groove of "Discovery Inn" a perfect fit for Mosaic. Complementing this, the Clandestine project looks to be a most promising endeavour for Watson and Drake on the basis of their two searing contributions with the urgent machine funk flex of "Slave To The System" a proper highlight.

Review: The recently found Soul Imago label delivers its first 'various artists' compilation and makes itself known thanks to some help by a rather talented fellow. Soulphiction, founder and label-head of the ridiculously on-point Philpot imprint, comes through with "Swing Low" and it's as jazzy as the dude gets, where nervous piano keys meet a big wood-bass and a little electronic post-production. Luna City Express - "Good Condition" (5:18)
Sek - "Thug Life" (interlude) (6:26)
Iz & Diz - "Happy" (7:55)
Rick Wade - "Do It" (5:41)
Review: The second part in the Hudd Traxx 10th Anniversary 'Now & Then' compilation sees tracks from Luna City Express, Sek, Iz & Diz and Rick Wade. Berlin duo Luna City Express serve up a lush deep house groove that builds throughout the track, and will bring a smile to the faces of those who follow them on their beloved Moon Habour Recordings. Sek uses slick beats, trippy leads, a driving bassline and some 'Thug life' vocals to ensure this one has 'future classic' written all over it. Go back in time (to 2006 to be precise) on the 'Then' side to find Iz & Diz's 'Happy'. The words 'epic' & 'journey' are often misused in music but both can be mentioned about this track. It had devastating effect on first release and is set to do the same again nearly 10 years later. Rick Wade closes things out in fine style to fly the Detroit flag on an all Chicago / Detroit side.

Mrs J (Cab Drivers remix)
Mrs J (original)
Mrs J (Leonel Castillo remix)
Mrs J (Constant mix)
Review: After kicking off their label in style with Burnski's 'Your Love' backed up by remixes from Trus Me and Steve O'Sullivan, Constant Sound use their second release to showcase a pair of up and coming producers from Newcastle., A Scott & Richard Rowell. 'Mrs J' has been burning a hole in Burnski's bag for some time now, waiting for the right opportunity to get unleashed on the public good and proper. The quality of the production belies the youth of the pair behind this addictive, bumping tech-house cut, although years spent as residents for the Jaunt parties in Newcastle and London have undoubtedly fed into the quality of their sound. This time around, the choice of guest remixers shows the true digging nature of the Constant Sound team, as cult German production duo Cab Drivers are invited up to do their thing. With a multitude of aliases running since the mid 90s on their own Cabinet Records imprint, Daniel Paul and Jens Augustowsky have received praise from high places for their finely honed, crisply executed house and techno. Leonel Castillo meanwhile brings a hypnotic South American touch to 'Mrs J', as the Argentinian producer draws upon more than a decades worth of experience releasing on labels such as Aux-Rec, Airdrop and Sushitech. That leaves it to label bosses Burnski and Jon Woodall to team up under their shared Constant guise, giving the collaborative project a debut airing with this sleek and strutting reinterpretation of A Scott & Richard Rowell's original track. Whether from well-established or just emerging artists, there's a consistency to the tracks forming around Constant Sound that shows it to be a trusted stamp for critical house and techno.
