Kansai EP (140 gram vinyl 12")

Deep House
Takecha - "Delicious Part"
Takecha - "Kirara To Sarara"
Tomoki Tamura - "Taiyo Mo Nai"
Tomoki Tamura - "Prhthemic"
Review: Holic Trax takes a trip to the Far East to celebrate the finest in Japanese house music culture with a split 12" from veteran producer Takecha (aka Takeshi Fukushima) and label boss Tomoki Tamura. Takecha's productions roll out like reams of silk, peppered with cheery MIDI horns but not at the expense of the overall deepness of the tracks. "Kiara To Sarara" is especially infectious with its sprightly jazzy demeanour. Tamura takes a tougher stance on the B side with the techy tones of "Taiyo Mo Nai" and then hits up a classic house tone for the subdued but focused "Prhthemic."

5ive Years
Polyphony Six
U’s Floppy Disk
High Chee's
Review: Holic Trax label boss Tomoki Tamura continues his anniversary celebrations by presenting his own work on this third installment of 5ive Years. The title track is a deep and crafty tech house cut suited to more subtle, heads down moments, while "Polyphony Six" keeps things equally moody but fattens out the bass and warms up the lead lines. "U's Floppy Disk" is a more taut, wiry track with gruff drums and splashes of bleepy FX - the perfect tripped out club tool. "High Chee's" lightens the mood at the 11th hour with a more playful melodic line that should fine favour with all kinds of good time DJs.

Deep House
Quiet Air Gun (feat Moo)
Foggy Jungle
DSC House
Stars In The Morning
Review: Nail's 89:Ghost label continues to march ahead with further musings on the mysterious creative realm between deep house and techno, which is a natural home for Tomoki Tamura. The Holic Trax boss man steps up with the solid four track Quiet Air Gun EP, and from the get go the quality is unmistakable. "Quiet Air Gun" is an alluring yet undeniably strange jam, with vocals from Moo only adding to the eerie, sensual tension. "Foggy Jungle" is more upfront with its tough beats n' bass exoskeleton, but between that scuffed combo there's ample room for subtle atmospheric touches as well. "DSC House" then brings the real peak time heat with its smoking samples and heavyweight rhythm section, but there's time for one more trip out with the sublime "Stars In The Morning".

Deep House
Three Thousand Stars
Three Thousand Dub
Keypella 4 U
Room 202
Ny Bassworks (vinyl only)
Review: To mark the 20th release on essential house label Holic Trax, boss man Tomoki Tamura steps up wth his first solo outing on the imprint. Coming on vinyl and digital, one of the cuts is a sample for you to use on your own tracks that you can then fire back to the label.

Founded in 2012, this go-to label is run by London based Japanese DJ and producer Tomoki, who has A&Red some rock solid, no nonsense house music from artists like Mr G, Rick Wade, Tuccillo, Keita Sano and many other key talents. Now he impresses with four of his own firing cuts which will hopefully be the first of many.

The title track gets things underway with big flabby bass underpinning trippy synth details and loopy drums. It is a straight up house jam that is deep and driving, sprinkled with twinkling melody and will make a big impact in any set. An even more stripped back and direct dub version is included for those who like it deep and playful. The absorbing 'Keypella 4 U' is a spooky thirty-second synth sample that is fluid and cosmic, and can be used in your own music in anyway you like.
The creepy 'Room 202' is an atmospheric number with sci-fi sounds and deep space synths all unfolding over a machine drum line and forceful kicks. It is back room dancing dynamite that will make anyone sweat. Last but not least, standout vinyl only treat 'NY Bassworks' is a skipping, percussive house number with wonky sine waves and crisp hits all jacking you into a groove.

This is another faultless releases on Holic Trax that will win the boss and his label many new fans as a result.

Eee Something (Tuccillo remix)
Review: Unblock Music comes back again stronger with its reference 003 , Retro City EP, spicing up the electronic with three new cuts of one of its most self-wise producers: Tomoki Tamura , label boss of the mighty Holic Trax. The title track to the EP " Retro City" , with taste of acid house lines , analogue machine and mix of vinyl samples wrestling each other for control , here Tomoki builds an absolutely mental stuff.Among the tracks is "Eee Something" Rmx , this cut reflects the imprint from Unblock label boss Tuccillo , whose eclectic discography has earned him a well deserved international following in the last years old school house sound that allowed to breathe in a warm, enveloping sound, there's not a weak point on here. Finally the " 12 " to listen the "Eee Something" Original and its secret weapon , the intriguing Rmx of Djebali that has its own distinctive flavor full of emotion and musical invention. In this latest offering of Unblock Music.Tuccillo and the camp around him , individually as well as their labels and frequent collaborators are continuously releasing solid electronic music and the result is simply brilliant.

Minimal/Tech House
Golden Ring (6:51)
Salvadanaio (8:03)
Stella (8:06)
Joint Soft (Japanease Napolitan edit) (6:24)
Review: The no-nonsense Holic Trax crew have got two superbly assured artists together on one fine 12" here. Ibiza based talent Tucillo and Fat East magician Took Tamura both have already long since proven their credentials and here they draw on their vast reserves of creativity for a varied EP that opens with the pulsing minimal house of 'Golden Ring' before 'Salvadanaio' gets deeper and more dubby, with mysterious chords slowly hypnotising you. 'Stella' picks up the pace with fatter, fleshier drums and modulated synth texture and last of all is a breezy, super cool and smooth deep house cut 'Joint Soft' (Japanese Napolitan edit).
