Arc (4:27)
Review: In the lengthy history of UK techno, few producers have a stronger (or for that matter, longer) track record than old friends James Ruskin and Mark Broom. These days, their collaborative releases are relatively rare, but they're always worth picking up. As you'd expect, this second volume in their Basement Jams series is suitably frenetic and forthright, delivering a quintet of heavyweight tracks aimed squarely at peak-time techno dancefloors. They start as they mean to go on with thunderous, acid-fired stomper 'Latch', before cycling through thumping lo-fi jack tracks ('Twister'), intense bouncy techno (the breathless beats, fizzing electronics and raw riffs of 'Zone'), fuzzy late-night insanity (the deliciously warped 'Drive') and stripped-back drum tracks ('Arc', with its wayward acid riffs and slowly intensifying percussion).

Techno
Track 1 (6:51)
Track 2 (5:36)
Review: In 2010 James Ruskin and Mark Broom turned more heads than usual with the release of their No Time To Soon and Erotic Misery EPs, both of which found a release on Blueprint. Following this the pair formed a new project called The Fear Ratio, and they've just released a new album on Skam. But if you're after another taste of the booming warehouse techno that took hold around the turn of the decade, this two-track 12" will give you a reenergised version of "No Time Too Soon" (with extra 2015 industrial scrapings) and, for all we know, a reduced version of all time classic "Erotic Misery".

Techno
Domwen (6:40)
Screwface (5:10)
Okt (4:29)
Review: UK techno dons James Ruskin and Mark Broom are back at it again on Blueprint with three slabs of upfront peak time material that packs brains to match brawn. "Domwen" is a delirious workout that revolves around a mad-eyed synth hook to make late night ravers fly off the handle. "Screwface" is equally ear-catching with its snarling electro lead bending and flexing around the stern beat, and then "Okt" bowls in with yet more oscillating acrobatics to shock out your local techno dungeon. You hardly need assuring of the quality these two can conjure up, but suffice it to say if you're after tough and inventive fist-shakers, this 12" has got you covered.
