Review: Neighbour Recordings release an intriguing and arresting new ambient dub record from lifer Quantec. Journey Of Mind is a thrumming, swelling, electric record, seeming to grasp at those rumoured-to-exist, deep-seated fields of electromagnetism extant below our everyday sensorial antennae. In the label's own words, Quantec's approach is all about the D (deep) and titles such as 'Depth Of Immersion', 'Atmospheric Noise' and 'The Unknown' should tell you all you need to know before you even so much as lift a tonearm; this is a potent psychic aid for self-reflection indeed, our favourite among the tracks on which has to be the synaptic gut-tugger, 'The Mystic Moon'.
