Maara - "Lose Control" (5:27)
Priori - "This Multiple" (6:07)
Rudolf C - "Bugs Life" (5:53)
HearThug - "KillAcidKill" (7:01)
Review: Needs have done a fine line in charitable releases in the last few years and here comes another one, this time in the form of a various artists release. Maara's 'Lose Control' is a bumpy techno workout with nice pinging kick drums, Priori then slows it down to a more predatory crawl on 'This Multiple' and Rudolf C allows the aliens in his machines to take over on the deep cyborg techno of 'Bugs Life.' HearThug's cosmic workout 'KillAcidKill' brings a tense vibe to the floor.

Pareidolia (5:44)
Memory Palace (5:26)
Glass Shards (5:30)
Review: Montreal-based producer Priori steps up to Midgar label and helps mark its ninth anniversary with his new EP Pareidolia. It's a sordid techno affair to start with as 'Hazard' layers up sludgy bass with menacing leads. The rolling drum transport you into a dark underworld before 'Pareidolia' then plays with deft and hyperactive minimal rhythms next to watery synth droplets. There is a broken beat brilliance to 'Glass Shards' with its skittish loops and dubbed-out rhythms then last of all, 'Memory Palace' glows with backlit and heavenly synths as minimal rhythms unfold and float you through space. It's a fantastic tune for 5AM wig-outs.

Winged (Priori Rezone) (5:33)
Review: In the wake of Priori's stunning album Your Own Power on the Naff label he runs with Ex-Terrestrial, one of Montreal's finest comes back with an all-star remix package. Donato Dozzy leads the way with a typically elegant, shimmering take on 'Winged' which taps into the hypnotic qualities of the original while smoothing out the edges. Aurora Halal opts for something more blissed-out with the bleepy ambience of her take on the track. DJ Python creates a downtempo electronica masterclass on 'Oyi' and Bambounou creates a leftfield techno workout from the component parts of '2-9-1', leaving Priori to mop up with a sweet, sentimental floor-minded 'Rezone' of 'Winged'.

Review: Montreal maven Priori's continued rush of beautifully rendered club magic manifests in a new album on the NAFF label he co-steers with Ex-Terrestrial. As you may well expect by now, his approach balances beauteous ambient passages full of advanced synthesis with delicate techno and rolling broken beat, imbued with a sense of warmth and playfulness but never at the expense of the music's emotional depth. Stand-out moments on Your Own Power include slowly unfurling downtempo bliss-out 'Shkrub' and the brooding, cerebral passages of 'The Village', but truthfully the whole album plays out in a cascade of immaculate production and heartwarming composition. The NAFF gear always flies out, so don't sleep on this one.

Priori - "Weight" (6:38)
Eversines - "Vigilance" (6:31)
O FourtyFour - "Bustlin' Monk" (5:08)
Reflex Blue - "J2PX" (4:43)
Review: One Eye Witness is mostly known for doing reissues of treasured 90s breakbeat, techno and trance under the name Kalahari Oyster Cult but this outlet under their name is for new music. Similar to the previous, the fifth edition is a compilation with submissions from different artists around the world. Starting out the EP is the Montreal producer Priori with the very atmospheric 'Weight'. Those who follow the label, know that every release will get a bit of trance and sure enough, Eversines deliver with wicked 'Vigilance'. For the second side, the 'Bustlin' Monk' by O Fourtyfour, bounces along with a trippy, broken, electro groove. Lastly, 'J2PX' by Reflex Blue is a sick, robotic funker that we expect to get a lot of attention by those who get this record. You can always expect some excellent music from One Eye Witness.

Minimal/Tech House
Voigtmann - "Automatic Chemistry"
Priori - "Receptivity"
D&S - "Expulsion"
Rupert Marnie - "Drifter"
Review: 20/20 Vision are proud to present 'Fragments Of Reality' - a brand new label homing in on tripped out shades of house and techno curated by Luther Vine (Phonica Records).

The opening track comes from London underground circuits' stalwart and the Fabric resident Voigtmann. The owner of Subsequent, the label that in itself over the last couple of years has broken a lot of new ground , delivers a big room bomb. 'Automatic Chemistry' will soak you in pulsating baselines and acid tinged minimalist breaks.

'Receptivity' jolts you in an altogether different direction.

The track that comes to you courtesy of Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist Priori is a tripped out soundscape of kaleidoscopic surprises. Yet the lush cascading sounds and pentatonic hints demand a delirious limb movement from even the most reserved of listeners. The magic that Priori brings on board has been shaped by his prior exploits eternalised on highly acclaimed releases for Dust World and NAFF.

Flip the wax ang get a load of 'Expulsion', a throbbing Dub Techno masterpiece crafted by Rotterdam based duo D&S. With a nod to genre's pioneers and echoes of analogue Detroit constantly present the Dutchmen's creation boasts silly concentration of energy begging for a prime-time attention.

The talent also comes with a pedigree. D&S had their stellar work noticed and pressed by Girada Unlimited and Space Shepherd labels to name but a few.

Your new essential record bag filler closes with Rupert Marine's blistering Acid Tech workout entitled 'Drifter'. Fresh jacking grooves that Hamburg based musician packs in this particular production are both airy and tight. Surely it's a track worthy of rave aboard an intergalactic Starship on the merit of it's futuristic brilliance alone.
