Review: It is 11 up for You Know What and it comes in some style as a three-pronged attack from Funk E, Narcis and Naf Naf. 'Out Of The Blues' opens up with stylish and stripped-back tech with nice dry hits and a rasping bassline that is peppered with toms and wispy chords. They occupy to mind while the feet tap out the rhythm and then 'Flipstone' gets more watery, dubby and ethereal for those freaky after-hour sessions. It is 'Fara Numar' which closes out with more of that lovely dry tech sound design, barely-there synth works and suggestive rhythms that lock you in.

Review: Bucharest's vinyl-only imprint, Dilated Records, joins Romania's contemporary minimal scene, a particular variation of the genre that succeeds in merging the analogue and digital worlds together. Like a high-end DSLR, this music is warm and cold at the same time, carrying the weight of analogue beats together with a sharper, HD sort of aesthetic to the melodies. Their fourth VA comp is nothing but deep, dark minimal bass, featuring Nea Marin, Negru & Narcis, Livio & Roby, and Pirku, who all proceed to slam down some fat-ass grooves for one thing only - the dancefloor. Smash this out, son - it'll work every time...
