Review: Two years have passed since Mollono.Bass (real name Ronny Mollenhauer) last released a compilation of his remixes, so this fifth volume in the ongoing series is arguably well overdue. There's much to enjoy amongst the 13 tracks on show, which generally tend towards the more warmer and melodious end of the tech-house spectrum. We're particularly enjoying the exotic, mind-altering throb of the Taster Peter remix ("Desert Night" being the track undertaking renovation work), the similarly seductive - if a little more big room-ready - flex of Mollenhauer's revision of Dandara's "Pororoca" and the pleasingly tuneful, life-affirming vibe of the Einmusik rework. That said, the quality threshold remains high from start to finish.

Review: Mollono Bass (AKA German producer Ronny Mollenhauer) has long been a prolific remixer. He's reworked dozens of tracks over the last decade, with the best featuring on his periodic Remix Collection compilations. Here he delivers the fourth volume in the series, which gathers together interpretations mostly produced in the last two years. While the vast majority of his reworks are underpinned by hypnotic late night tech-house beats, there's still plenty of musical variety on show. For example, contrast the jangling Eastern European instrumentation, Turkish vocals and rubbery bass of his version of Brigade's "Done Dying", with the fragile indie-goes-deep house shuffle of the Into Lala "Golden Voice" rework, or even the evocative, mid-tempo progressive house bliss of Mollenhauer's take on Shkoon's "Napauken".

Review: Under the Mollono Bass alias, Ronny Mollenhaur is amassing a sizeable discography. The hard-working producer undertakes a lot of remix commissions, and has previously showcased the best of these in two volumes of the Remix Collection. There's more high quality fodder to be found on this third edition, from the pop-tinged tech house grooves of Jan Plotzlich's "Go Away", and the string-laden downtempo beauty of his rub of Noetics' "Rotterdub", to more bass-heavy, late night dancefloor revisions of Tagtraumer 2, Be Svendson, and Just Karl & Oliver Sylo. Throughout, he impressively fuses his own Germanic, tech-house vision, with the finest elements of his source material.
