  4. Area Forty One - "Prtctn"
Review: The ever-dependable vinyl arm of the Dutch deep techno stable Field Records continues apace into its eighth outing with four carefully selected inner space travellers perfectly suited to the hazy end of the party. Artefakt kicks off with a brooding jaunt through interlocking 4/4 grooves and luscious Detroit pads, while Mark Du Mosch opts for a more punishing tone to his fuzzed out techno. Steffi locks in for a smooth and focused bath of deep house, while Area Forty One switches things up with a refined and textured take on electronica propelled by a prominent broken beat.

  2. Interstellar Funk - "1999"
  3. Mark Du Mosch - "Soulsearch"
  4. Deniro - "Bobcat"
Review: Holland's fearless Tape series returns with a hefty dose of electroid groove science from some of its most talented members. As per usual, the beats are murky and the melodies swamped, ingeniously blending shards of techno together with bursts of electro. The killers have to be Mark Du Mosch's "Soulsearch", a blistering clusterbomb of a track reminiscent of Gesloten Cirkel at his finest, and "1999" by Interstellar Funk. Don't miss this one; it'll go for bucks in the future. Hand-stamped.

Electro
  1. D'marc Cantu - "Mine Motion" (4:59)
  2. Mark Du Mosch - "Bermuda" (5:41)
  3. Paul Du Lac - "Beta Rhythm" (5:31)
Review: It's the tenth outing from Holland's 030303 imprint, and we're good and ready for some jacked-up, screw-face techno-house from this bunch of misfits. Wildcard D'Marc Cantu opens the EP by dropping a vicious electro bruiser in "Mine Motion", a tune would go down a storm in a dark basement with nothing but a single strobe to accompany its industrial bleeps, while Murder Capital associate Mark Du Mosch's "Bermuda" is a gentler, more opaque house duster with a dubby afterglow. Finally, Bio Rhythm overseer Paul Du Lac delivers the hypnotic "Beta Rhythm", a kick-less techno scorcher with a frenetic percussion and a bassline that would make Plastikman circa 1998 a very proud man indeed.

Techno
  1. Delta Funktionen - "Work"
  2. Rod - "Mlmkfr"
  3. Mark Du Mosch - "L Argeant"
  4. Roberto Auser - "Fatal Attraction"
Review: The latest release on Field pulls together four wildly diverse tracks and in the process proves that fresh thinking in techno need not revolve around Berghain-style repetition. Dutch producer Delta Funktionen though does demonstrate on "Work" that there is still some life left in the dub techno sound, presenting a tougher, jacking track with a visceral filter that tears its way through the arrangement. Rod's contribution is also an unusual proposition, rougher than his dense, loopy releases on Klockworks, as doubled up rhythms and metal-plated, gained drums vie for the listener's attention. Counteracting these intense peaks is Mark Du Mosch's "L'Argeant"; the groove is stripped back and bassy, but suddenly Du Mosch lets loose with a flamboyant Italo melody line, breathing colour into the greyscale surroundings. Roberto Auser throws one final curveball on "Fatal Attraction" - a beatless affair, its epic synths loom as ominously as a Resse bassline and will tingle as many spines as Derrick May's strings.

  3. Special Forces (5:07)
  4. Vigil (7:06)
Review: Dutchman Mark Du Mosch is the latest big-name recruit to the Pinkman ranks. The techno producer has previously starred on Tabernacle, Tape Records, Dekmantel and Moustache Records - amongst many others - and here delves deep into his industrial, post-punk and Italo-disco inspirations. Throughout, there's a loose, jammed-out feel, with Du Mosch wringing heaps of energy from what sounds like an impressive collection of music-making machines. We're particularly enjoying the moody, Motor City flex of "Vigil", and the EBM-tinged fuzziness of "The Red Hour", but the EP's other tracks - and, in particular, the muscular "Special Forces" - are almost as good.

Review: With a debut LP from Joey Anderson and more Juju & Jordash material on the horizon, 2014 looks like being another interesting year for the Dekmantel label, and they kick off in style with a label debut for Mark Du Mosch. For those who don't know, Du Mosch is a regular contributor to a like-minded enclave of labels, racking up excellent 12?s for Lunar Disko, Tabernacle, Cyber Dance and Dutch labels Field, SD and Moustache Records. Having added some heritage to the fledgling Amsterdam operation Tape last year, Du Mosch adds a more established capital-based outlet to his discography with this Bay 25 12". Contained within are two snapshots of Du Mosch's production palette with the rough and rugged Rotterdam squat techno of the title track complemented by the deeper burn of "Living It Up". An added bonus comes in the form of Du Mosch's Moustache Techno pal Gesloten Cirkel who also makes his Dekmantel bow with a typically haywire modification of "Bay 25?.

  4. Passion
Review: Dutchman Mark Du Mosch has been responsible for some fine analogue heavy and raw sounding techno over the years with his 2011 Exegesis 12" for the Tabernacle label up there as one of his best. Du Mosch makes a superb return to Tabernacle with Freewind, a record that just might match or even better his aforementioned debut in our affections. These four slabs exemplify perfectly the diverse sound Du Mosch has been perfecting over the years; lead track "Red Jam" bucks chaotically through the analogue mists whilst its A Side accompaniment "Indigo Jam" is a markedly calmer production. The highlight however is "Passion", a wonderfully lilting concoction of rough, rugged drums, searing disco stabs and the most uplifting of simple vocal hooks.

  2. Outerworld
  3. Getting Off
  4. Shields Up
Review: Moustache regular Mark Du Mosch is at the helm for the second release on the Dutch label's techno offshoot with splendid and varied results. "Captain Bligh" opens this release in vicious form, tunnelling deep into furthest corners of machine built cave techno, rasping Roland drums cascading around tape saturated acid textures with the kind of panache that seems so natural to the Lowlands. "Outerworld" provides a nice deviation from the guttural opening, commencing in floating disco house territory before setting off into a bezerk drum machine freakout! The B Side opens with the tightly wound bounce of "Getting Off", which doesn't prepare you for a concrete weight B-more flex that's countered by raising swathes of pads for a production that brings to mind Karizma at his finest. Du Mosch ends on the Martian techno bump of "Shields Up" which bucks through several rhythmic directions in a style Jamal Moss
would be proud of.

Review: Nuno Dos Santos' ever-excellent label presents a mini-compilation of intriguing leftfield sonics from a nicely varied cast of characters, leading in with a gorgeous ambient piece from Stijn Sadee. Rahsaan Nova brings a fractured delicacy to "Selfishness" while RDS drops some dynamic needlepoint rhythm science in "Smwajkb". Mark Du Mosch has some suitably strung out jacking business to attend to on "In A Flash", while Tripeo brings the muscular, dystopian electro vibe. Then Freek Fabricius smooths things out with the gorgeous, lilting "Astronaut Prinses". If you're into artfully sculpted electronics across the tempo and style spectrum, this record comes highly recommended.
