Double O - "Straight 98" (Escher remix) (5:47)
Tim Reaper & Dwarde - "Mendoza" (5:11)
Mani Festo - "Caving In" (6:31)
Review: Rupture takes us to Uranus with this new various artist and special blue marled 12" featuring the don Tim Reaper as well as Double O, Dwarde and Mani Festo. It's an Escher remix of 'Straight 98' that kicks off and traps you in unresolved, tense and atmospheric drum loops with a subtle sense of funk. Reaper and Dwarde then combine for the dark and all-out breakbeat assault that is 'Mendoza'. Last of all is Mani Festo's 'Caving In', another heavy one with fizzing electronics, crunchy percussive textures and prying bass that is not in a hurry to go anywhere and instead keeps you trapped in the moment.

Eusebeia - "Shape The Future" (5:35)
Mani Festo - "Next 2 U" (6:43)
Necrotype - "Fruittella" (4:54)
Review: Essential damagement jams from one of the most consistent and forward-thinking labels in the contemporary jungle game, "Full Repertoire Vol. 02" features fire from friends old and new. Label owner Law tags up with rising artist Kola Nut once again to ease us into the EP with "Somewhere New" where goodlooking-esque soft arpeggios and pipes disarm us before the darkness unfolds. Eusebeia returns to Repertoire with the pressure cooker hardcore pads of "Shape The Future", newcomer Mani Festo follows his killer Rupture debut with the equally menacing tightly coiled spring that's "Next 2 U" before Necrotype closes with the coldest cut of the collection, all strange humanised noises, melting droplets and complex breaks. Full to the brim.

Eyes Open (6:32)
Dreadnaught (6:31)
Eyes Open (Denham Audio remix) (6:17)
Test Flight (5:21)
Review: Dext have always been right on the money with their releases, pursuing a sharp and snappy take on modern club music that celebrates the best in techno, electro and the grey area around bass music. Following a return to active service with Dawn Razor earlier this year, they follow up with an incisive transmission from Mani Festo, who is normally found shelling it down as part of Club Glow amongst other endeavours. The pressure is turned up from the get-go, whether through the metallic machine funk of 'Eyes Open' or the wild-eyed rave wrecker 'Dreadnaught'. At all times Festo keeps a firm hand on the tiller and delivers intrigue to match the intensity of this peak time, hardcore-licked club gear.

Digital Projection (5:17)
Jungle Poison (5:16)
Roam (5:41)
Sleepless In West Norwood (6:24)
Review: With a string of forthright, club-rocking releases to his name for labels including Denham Audio, E-Beams, WNCL Recordings, Sneaker Social Club and, most recently, Shall Not Fade, it would be fair to say that Mani Festo is currently one of the UK's premier rave revivalists. Here he brings his trademark sound, which doffs a cap to breakbeat hardcore, jungle, techno and electro, to Lobster Theremin for the very first time. There's plenty to admire throughout, from pulsating metallic bass, darkcore breaks and paranoid sonic textures of 'Digital Projection', to the opioid chords, drowsy melodies and shuffling 4/4 garage beats of 'Roam' and the thunderous techno beats and 'Selected Ambient Works'-era Aphex Twin chords of 'Sleepless in West Norwood'.

Neutronics (5:49)
Come Wid It (6:14)
Disengage (5:44)
Iron Fist (4:54)
Review: Now here's a treaty we can all sign: following cuts on the likes of E-Beamz, Warehouse Rave, Hooversound and his own co-owned Club Glow, Mani Festo comes crashing down in West Norwood with four more incendiary slap-downs. Raw diesel powered breaks with every rave echo you could ask for. 'Neutronics' hits with a cold slice of electro in the synth department, 'Come Wid It' hits with that stripped back technoid sound Bassbin Twins were so good at back in the day, 'Disengage' is all about the drum edits and that metallic, futuristic Botchit style while 'Iron Fist' closes the EP with a drum funk KO punch that's so hard you'll forget all about lockdown.

What You've Done To Me (4:40)
Review: Monsieur-of-the-moment Mani Festo continues to flex his beats in all directions as he arrives at the equally flexible E-Beamz imprint. Following releases on the likes of Repertoire, Rupture and Boysnoize, he runs the full gamut here; 'Continuum' is a wobbled-out slab of breaks that nods towards instrumental grime, 'Baltic Sea' rekindles the old TCR or Botchit flames with just a wee smidgeon of rave magic, 'Full Circle' is all-out jungle while 'Explorer' drops the breaks entirely for an exercise in minimal techno. Finally 'What You've Done To Me' closes the show on an emotional one. Sublime.

Immortals (7:16)
Hold The Line (5:54)
Awake (5:54)
Warehouse Theory (6:19)
Review: Their first release since the almighty "Fifth Column" V/A album last year, London's finest jungle night Rupture return to the label game with this crucial four tracker from serial beat slicer / tempo flexer Mani Festo. Here we find him in pure stripped back mode with strong tendencies towards '95 style steppery. Opener "Immortals" pays homage to the highlanders out there with a venomous two-step and unhurried momentum in the fluidity while "Hold The Line" takes us right back to early Moving Shadow with crisp rolled out breaks and spine melting pads. Flip for "Awake", the bounciest cut on the EP with its Dread style pitching and playful sense of funk. Finally, "Warehouse Theory" closes the show with a proper breakbeat slap; expect nothing but nasty sinewy arpeggios and a serious 4/4 turbo jungle techno kick. Hell yes.

Foul Play - "Black Sun" (Skeleton Army remix) (5:19)
Denham Audio - "Mercury Tint" (4:50)
Mani Festo - "Spiral" (6:34)
Review: Relooping the generations; John Morrow (AKA Skeleton Army AKA 4 Horsemen Of The Apocalypse AKA Foul Play) serves up a collection that nods in both directions. 4 Hero's Marc Clair takes the lead under his old school hardcore alias Manix. Bouncy and loaded with positivity, it sets the scene before Morrow remixes his 23 old Foul Play track "Dark Horse" into a slinky, technoid breakbeat jam. Flip for some future flavours: Denham Audio looks to early Good Looking for inspiration on "Mercury Tint" while Mani Festo goes wild on a percussive dnb finale. Smile or kill trying.

Review: Diving deep for rave treasures, Seagrave unleash their Quarters series with a whole range of talented beat freaks, all flexing across the tempos. Sicknote and the legendary pioneer Justice take the lead with the hardcore-infused 4x4 stomper 'Neon Fizz' before man-of-the-moment Low End Activist gets his breakbeat fury on with 'Code Of Codes'. Flip for more bruk gold: Mani Festo gets us juiced up with ethereal organs and brain shattering breaks before Phase Velocity goes loco with the finale 'Drumskull'. Ooof.
