Review: Prague based label Neo Violence releases music from all over the world and with no genre restrictions. Or as they claim "simply anything good from house, techno, electro, acid or bass music" in addition to running a bunch of club nights in their fair city and we salute them. On their second label sampler, we get treated to a bunch of gnarly and jackin' lo-fi grooves from the current mainstays of the label roster. On the A side, there's some ethereal house music from Jupiter Jax (100% Silk/Opal Tapes) with both "Midnight Drive" and "Just How U Do" reminiscent of Larry Heard's evocative deepness from his Trackmode days in the early noughties. Meanwhile, New York City's Baltra stays on the same retro tip; Windy City style (but circa '86 this time) with the raw and emotive "Through The Seams". On the flip, Russia's Low Tape comes up with some worthy additions, but for our money it's all about the woozy, dust covered sultriness of "Untitled 15". Finally Cologne's ROWVN serves up "BNKRS" (naturally) where he goes for that overdriven and tape saturated retro house vibe of Lobster Theremin.

Review: Welcome to the wonderful world of DEL, a new label from the Cartulis crew specialising in warm and inviting electronics with a Balearic tinge. Heading up this new enterprise is Low Tape, aka Gennadiy Manzhos, and DJ Mostoles, taking a side each to lay down some cool and classy sonics. Low Tape lets the synths do the talking on easy-paced trippers like 'Aliens Are Humans From The Future', while DJ Mostoles has a smokier quality to the downtempo electro strains being explored on the B side. For those craving a selection of cool-headed beats for lounge situations, look no further.
