Review: Liebe*detail man Matias Meyer was handed the reins for the 20th edition of Watergate's official mix CD series, packing in cuts from Giegling acts Traumprinz and Kettenkarussell, Palms Trax, and Innervisions alongside exclusives and some of his own material. With the dust settling on a fine mix, Watergate now do the right thing and gather up those exclusive cuts for an accompanying 12" which sees Meyer sharing space with Gorje Hewek & Izhevski on the A side and YokoO & Retza on the B side. A classy affair from start to end, Meyer is on hypnotic form with the pulsing, orchestral "LA Strings" whilst Hewek & Izhevski's "Turgoyakk" is deliciously deep. Simillar things could be said of Meyer's other contribution "Uluwatu," whilst YokoO & Retza showcase their dual talent for intricate percussive rhythms and ornate keys on "Satori."
