Review: Three distinctly outer space-themed cuts from Greece's Alex Celler, each with a linear minimal/tech skeleton that has other, interloping musical influences draped elegantly and classily across it. 'Ancient Astronuats' has the weird, wired mystical stirrings of early Black Dog about it, complete with melting, bendy electro notations that coax it along and add a psychedelic dimension. 'Stargate To Cosmos' has a playful, Drexciyan feel to it, with crunchy, organic drum beats flirting alongside the more rigid electrics. 'Object In The Sky' is the most minimal of the pack, sleek and stalker-like, but still contains enough action - mainly floating around up there in the ether - to hold and build attention.

Review: Baby Ford's minimal minded label is back in action with some psyched-out goodness from Alex Celler. The long-serving Greek producer has many strings to his bow, but this release finds him tapping into his foundational sound as a steady ticking groove carries a richly produced bed of chimes and tones for the deepest moments in the dance. Where "Feudade" is a lilting, soothing trip, "Vis A Vis" heads into a more mysterious headspace peppered with nagging rhythmic trysts, crafty licks and fulsome bass to get the synapses popping. It's exactly how stripped down house music should be done, inventive to the last and yet utterly danceable.

Review: REPRESS ALERT: Consistent in his output since 2006, London-based Alex Celler has carved a reputation recording on highly esteemed imprints such as Tuning Spork, Contexterrior, Broquade and All Inn to name a few. Now he turns up the heat for an impressive two-track debut on Trelik.

The A-Side "Haz" kicks off with tight, dry drums moving emotively with warm bubbling bass, subtle house stabs and soothing, mysterious vocals. Drops and licks of percussion build and fall over the 9:19 duration with the aid of cleverly scattered piano keys this forward thinking arrangement stands-out perfectly.

"Pacificon" on the B-side strips things back to the bare-essentials, a highly playable cut that takes on a more techno-orientated approach featuring persistent bass and metallic vocals creating a deadly effective backdrop of space and tension.

Review: Cecille Numbers have taken aboard Alex Celler for his first solo EP on the label after a joint appearance alongside production buddy Anthea last year. "Blue Vaudeville" is typically Celler; thundering house that boasts just enough of that classy edge to make it more than just seasonal. Long drawn out synths and a sensual vocal are the stand out elements on Celler's original, a vintage gruffness adding to its appeal. Shonky turns that gruffness on its head with a summery, modern take on "Blue Vaudeville", which seems destined to wreck many a terrace this summer! Whilst both have their advantages, it's the original that gets our vote here at Juno. "Dawn In The Jungle", whilst easy listening and enjoyable never really picks up full speed on the B-Side, leaving plenty of room for "Eccosaire" and its spoken vocal to be the highlight.

Review: Lion & Lamb Records emerges from the London-based community of underground electronic heads orbiting the venue of the same name. Considering the quality of the events, you can drop the needle on this various artists joint safe in the knowledge the same high standards apply. The killer new project from Voigtmann, V3000 is up first with the ear-snagging machine funk of "The Man Who Belongs To The Horizon", before Alex Celler drops in some utterly cheeky, wriggling micro house naughtiness to add some spice to the after party. Andre King brings things back to an electro tip for the edgy sci-fi noir of "Floating Sensation" and Unai Trotti restores the balance with some boisterous 4/4 bleep business.
