Review: German beat mutant Acid Lab dents the discogs on provocative burgeoning imprint AGN7 with four cavernous beasts. All flexing around the Samurai/Metalheadz axis in terms of space and palette, each cut hits hard with authenticity. "Secret Weapon" hits like it's 97 but on a halftime flex. "Unleash" is a savage Rupture level piece of breakbeat chaos. "Shadow Recruit" goes on some cosmic 160 Tipper style elastic bass funk while "Before The Storm" takes you right into it eye then blasts you out with a creepy breakbeat hurricane. Serious tackle, this.

Review: Split personality vibes: the acutely on-point Repertoire invite Daniel Schwerdel to the fold for a 12" of two aliases. His flagship Acid Lab takes the A with two brutal break-based crusades; the white knuckle "Shimazu Clan" and the steppier, subtly Photekian "Planets". Flip for two deeper excursions as he exposes his Ahmad side once again... "Symbols" (with Artilect) is a tunnelling pummeller that gradually rises in tension and pressure while "Blackout" is a naked cave creeper, all lithe and slimy. Four cuts, every single one of them a persy. Repertoire smash it once again.

"Warriors" sets the tone with a rim shot blasting 45 King break and crypt delving atmospherics, "Environment" sets an even starker tone with eerie warped textures and a Krust circa "True Stories" style drum arrangement, "Underdog" wraps up with a dangerous dichotomy; the drums say jazz, the bass says gully. Review: Acid Lab gets all two-face on this new EP for burgeoning jungle imprint Convoluted Records. First up are two collabs under his Ahmad alias; "Grinder" sees Gremlinz join the fray with a nasty hornets nest bassline and pitched breaks that seem to melt through the LFOs while Parallel helps him unleash the soul of Beelzebub himself on "Judgement Day". "Jericho" closes on a savage jungle note with haunted choral effects and broadsword breaks. For a label called Convoluted, this sure cuts straight to the point.

Review: Lazy days and hazy plays... Tommy and his pack take a strut around the park once again. The main cat himself is in a very stern and tightly coiled mood as 'Frictional' has a taut, stalking nature. Elsewhere Acid Lab trims our whiskers with the razor sharp breaks of 'You Know Something', Qant purrs Goodlooking nothings in our ears on 'Aero' and Nour Fawzi springs around with jazzy claws. We've got a good feline about this one.

Review: Soul Intent opens the gate to his Lossless castle once again with a beautifully presented triple-track trip into rave heritage. His own "Bad Boy" is all about the loose, jungle scuffing roughage that rolls for days. Acid Lab joins the fray with the Reinforced style edit festival that's so detailed your ears will need spectacles to hear every dice and splice. Finally "2 Bad" sees Soul Intent team up with Ms Tempz for a SUAD-style hardcore homage. Proper.

Review: Soul Intent's Lossless imprint continues to delve deep into the underground jungle psyche with three seriously on-point talents. Michigan's SPKTRM lays a really weighty halftime smack down beneath an array of space-age noises. Rupture's Acid Lab nods towards Digital & Spirit's legacy with "Tundra" while Chromatic follow up their incredible "Over There" EP on Innerground with a Hadron Collider-sized stepper "The Machine". Finally label boss Soul Intent wraps up the package with a devilishly techy jam where the drums hit with such metal awe you can taste the rust. This "Hoth" doesn't need hassling...
