Review: Released in 1993 and now reissued via its original label Demon, Belinda Carlisle's fifth solo album was notable for its standout singles 'Big Scary Animal' and 'Lay Down Your Arms', both of which showed off her raunchy, large, all-American style. At this stage in her career, we witnessed Carlisle deliberate on her femininity; re-form her agency under patriarchy; and subvert classic Westernized images of opulence, romance and wealth; all while keeping things instrumental energized and hey-ho. Review: Demon Music's 'Disco Discharge' series was originally issued in a series of 2xCD collections between 2009 and 2012. The themed compilations of full-length, extended disco originals, lovingly curated by the mysterious Mr Pinks and with detailed sleeve notes by author and disco aficionado Alan Jones, have long remained in demand among collectors and the club Cognoscenti. Now recompiled and reissued on a striking orange double 140g LP, we're once more transported back to the golden era of the likes of Change, Manhattan Transfer and Cheryl Lynn.

Review: Demon's Disco Discharge compilations first appeared on CD around the turn of the last decade, offering on-point, themed selections from the mysterious 'MrPinky' and authoritative liner notes by disco historian Alan Jones. Now some of the sets are appearing on vinyl for the first time. As the name suggests, this edition celebrates the contribution of the USA - the original home of disco culture - to the sound's evolution. What's on offer is a mix of well-known hits (Teddy Pendergrass' Philly Soul special 'Life Is A Song Worth Singing'), Earth, Wind & Fire's 'Boogie Wonderland', featuring in the lesser-known instrumental mix form), crossover classics (Slick's 'Space Bass', Karen Young's 'Hot Shot', Fern Kinney's slow motion reggae-disco gem 'Baby, Let Me Kiss You') and cult favourites (Dennis Parker's 'Like An Eagle', Paradise Express's 'Dance').

Review: Back in 1990, Electribe 101 were riding high on the success of 'Talkin' With Myself', a Balearic house classic that ranks among the most saucer-eyed and loved-up songs of the era. The album that followed, Electribal Memories, was a gem, too, though has been largely overlooked - though not by those who fell in love with it at the time - ever since. Happily, it has finally been reissued on vinyl, with half-speed remastering and a deep cut to guarantee aural pleasure. With singer and creative force Billie Ray Martin providing some of her most memorable vocal performances, highlights include the early morning E-soul hypnotism of 'Inside Out' (a genius-like cover of a funk-soul classic), warm-up classic 'Heading For The Night' and the tactile deep house delight of 'Diamond Dove'.

Review: This one is an absolute treat for fans of Ocean Colour Scene - a special signed edition of their Days Like These: Live 1998 - 2015 albums on Demon. There are three in all (Travellers Tunes: Live From Sterling Castle 1998, Live Acoustic At The Jam House 2006 and Live at The Bridgewater Hall With Q Strings 2015.) and they are a fine reminder of the much loved UK indie band and all their most glorious moments. As well as all the most popular hits, there are special acoustic versions of some tunes and much more. Ocean Colour Scene are one of Britain's finest bands and this live album will show you why.
