Noise Engineering Loquelic Iteritas Percido Complex Digital Voice Module
Cat: 657487 Rel: 14 Aug 17

20HP drum synth voice module
Notes: Loquelic Iteritas Percido is an extension of the original Loquelic Iteritas. Like Loquelic Iteritas, it is a digital VCO with interpretations of three classic synthesis algorithms involving dual pitch control parameterized by four tone controls. LIP adds an envelope that can be shaped, modulated, and routed to pitches and tone controls, making it into a stand-alone voice.

Noise Engineering The Extra Mullet Small Active Multiplexer Module
Cat: 655384 Rel: 14 Aug 17

Combining buffered multiple module
Notes: The Extra Mullet is the bigger, badder version of the Mullet. It's just as business in the front, but has way more party in the back: an extra 2HP strip mixes inputs for 7 extra outputs that sum combinations of the four inputs.

Deep House
  1. Echoes (6:35)
  2. This Way (7:04)
  3. Unhidden Blues (6:03)
Review: Since debuting with an EP of Detroit revivalism on ClekClekBoom a couple of years back, Parisian DJ/producer Aleqs Notal has been touted as one to watch. Ascending Nodes is his first release of 2017, and switches from Detroit techno to melodious deep house. A-side "Echoes" is a sublime piece of electronic machine soul, with cascading melody lines, fluttering synth solos and rich chords riding a smooth but skittish groove. It feels a little like a cross between Nu Guinea and Rick Wade, which is no bad thing. Flip for the bongo-driven deep house dreaminess of "This Way", and the Larry Heard meets Ron Trent bliss of "Unhidden Blues". Notal is clearly a talented producer, but this EP proves that he also has the musicianship to match.

  2. No Wonder (5:53)
  3. The Swan Song (5:28)
  4. Replica (5:27)
  5. Surrender (2:22)
Review: While his full-length excursions on Further have seen Manuel "Nuel" Fogliata explore the furthest reaches of leftfield electronica, his 12" singles largely remain a bastion of thrusting, dark-side techno (with an occasional side order of fizzing electro). This five-track excursion on Kontra is a little more varied in tone and texture, but is still weighed heavily towards the needs of dancefoors. Check, in particular, the rumbling, dub-flecked techno melancholia of "No Wonder", the pitch-black, Donato Dozzy-ish "Replica" and opener "Ballet", a beat-free excursion whose rising and falling melody lines surge forwards at a techno tempo. Elsewhere, "The Swan Song" is a fine chunk of bass-heavy, deep space electro, while "Surrender" is a clandestine slice of dark ambient sludge.

Review: What a 12"! Given their stature, International Feel could probably pull in a DJ Harvey or a Theo Parrish to remix cuts from the Jose Padilla LP (maybe they will ooh!) but they've indulged their more esoteric urges here. Chicago house originator Ben Cenac comes through with a truly rare Dream 2 Science remix, turning "Lollipop" into a brisk, star gazing production rich in the musicality that characterised his (now) cult 1990 album. Complementing this are two fine remixes from Versatile's genius I:Cube with his marauding Balearic rave remix a real pearler of a production! International Feel include Padilla's OG version too!

Review: One part experiment, three parts dedication to details, a million parts celebration of Columbian salsa: Don Pascal's piano heavy "Tributo" and "Tumbao" bridge the gap between timeless Latin folk and modern dancefloor soul with instrumentation recorded direct from the source (via Quantic of course) and skippy, swinging broken beat grooves. With only 300 copies pressed, a whole range of creative DJ tools and a remix from the highly on-point producer and editor The Reflex, Tru Thoughts have gone to town on this in every direction.

Review: "Paunetto's Point", by Bobby Vince Paunetto, is a landmark in seventies Latin and jazz music. Easily one of the most unique voices of his generation, Bobby's got an approach to melody that's all tied up in the rhythms - one that has most of the instruments in the group vamping along with the grooves, while solos take off in wonderful flights that soar to the skies on waves of sound and soul. Don't miss this historical slab of wax.

Review: This far, US producer Phase Fatale aka Hayden Payne has released on pretty much every label focussing on the rougher, more post-apocalyptic dude of dance music. Techno, to be precise. With balls the size of industrial warehouses. After several outings on Jealous God, he lands on Hospital Productions with Redeemer, a wacky mini LP fit for those who like their cuts to be cooked raw and bitter, a flurry of dance sketches spanning everything from post punk to noise and EBM. Among our favourite tunes on here, "Operate Within" is particularly satisfying thanks to a looming, glacial bassline which engulfs anything in its path; "Order Of Severity" equally makes a mocking of traditional 'club' techno, and the likes of "Beast" add to the sense of mystery and doom through vast, crestfallen landscapes of hollow sound. Magnetic from start to finish. Another Hospital trophy in the making!

Review: Jealous God arrive at their tenth issue, seemingly treating the minor landmark as the point they no longer include mix CDs, but the crepuscular focus of the music remains ever intact. It's yet another label debut, with Berlin-based New Yorker Hayden Payne getting his most high profile release to date under the Phase Fatale name. Once heavily involved in New York's cold wave scene, Payne's move to Berlin and the adoption of Phase Fatale has seen him develop an EBM flavoured style of techno that is eminently suited to the Jealous God cause. Lead cut "Steel" sounds like Silent Servant hocked up on steroids, contrasting nicely with the stealthier pump of "SOL740". On the flip, the rhythmic construction of "Cut" is reminiscent of Jam City reworking Front 242, whilst "Castor" is pure sonic brutality.

Pigtronix Philosophers Tone Micro Compressor Pedal (B-STOCK)
Cat: 647198 Rel: 24 Oct 16

B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order
Notes: ***B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order***

Turn Lead to Gold with the Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone Micro. Famous for its noiseless clean sustain, the Philosopher's Tone stands out as a uniquely powerful guitar effect in the crowded world of compressor pedals. The Philosopher's Tone Micro packs all of the optical compression and unrivalled sustain of the original award winning Pigtronix pedal into a micro size chassis that runs on standard 9V external power.

In addition to VOLUME and SUSTAIN controls, the Philosopher's Tone Micro features a parallel BLEND knob that allows the musician to mix their instrument's original tone with the compressed sound effect. This technique restores natural pick-attack and allows more extreme sustain settings to remain musical. The TREBLE control provides up to 6db cut or boost at 2KHz for fine tuning the frequency response of the effect. The Philosopher's Tone Micro features True-bypass switching and internal 18V power rails for maximum clean headroom, even when used with hot pickups and line level signals.

Practitioners of the mystical and ancient art of alchemy long sought an element called the Philosopher's Stone, believing that, if found, it could turn lead into gold and bestow immortality upon the person who wielded it. The Philosopher's Tone Micro represents an analog musical equivalent to this mythical substance in the world of guitar.

"People have been trying to get clean sustain from a pedal for decades, and the alchemists at Pigtronix seems to have found the secret to make it happen." - Art Thompson, Guitar Player Magazine

Presonus Temblor T10 Active Studio Subwoofer
Cat: 538678 Rel: 23 Jun 14

10 inch glass composite powered subwoofer with built in crossover and resonance suppressing enclosure technology
Notes: To hear what's really going on at the bottom of your mixes, you need a subwoofer that speaks the truth. The Temblor T10 lets you take charge of the low-frequency foundation of your mix with a combination of quality components and design, plenty of inputs and outputs, and extensive user controls not normally available in this price range.

An ideal companion to Eris and Sceptre active reference monitors, the T10 complements full-range monitors without overshadowing them, extending the reach of your full-range system's low end with a musical and natural approach.
Powerful and musical, Temblor features high-quality components and design that enable it to deliver fast and accurate transient response, extending low frequencies without a hint of "tubbiness" or overshoot.

The Temblor T10 is an active subwoofer with a 10-inch glass-composite driver, built-in crossover, high-temperature voice coil, and damped rubber surround. Its cabinet features a front-firing, bass-reflex acoustic port and optimized, resonance-suppressing internal bracing. The enclosure has integrated rubber feet for stable placement.

In addition to outstanding accuracy and a frequency response that ranges from 20 Hz to 130 Hz, this combination of features enables the subwoofer to produce higher volume - up to 113 dB SPL - with less power than a sealed-box design. But make no mistake; the T10 has plenty of juice: 250 watts of Class AB power.

The result is a subwoofer that delivers accurate, tight low end and outperforms subs costing far more. With Temblor T10, you hear what the foundation of your mix really sounds like so you can produce your best mix from top to bottom.

The T10 provides more user controls than any other subwoofer in its class, enabling seamless integration into your listening environment.

The Temblor T10's extensive user controls include input gain (-30 dB to +6 dB, continuously variable) and a continuously variable low-pass filter (50 Hz to 130 Hz) that let you create a seamless crossover transition between your full-range studio monitors and subwoofer for a more accurate listening environment.

A switchable high-pass filter removes frequency content below 80 Hz from the full-range signal sent from the T10 outputs to the main monitors, avoiding destructive cancellation and reinforcement in the T10's upper range.
The result is a subwoofer that can be adjusted to perfectly complement not only our Sceptre CoActual and Eris active studio monitors but virtually any studio monitor.

The T10 also features a momentary footswitch (included) that bypasses the subwoofer, high-pass filter, and Sub Out. This allows your audio source signal to pass directly through the Temblor T10 to the full-range studio monitors, making comparing your mix with or without sub frequencies quick and easy. This helps to ensure your mix will sound good on a wide variety of systems.

Of course, we didn't forget the "small things" that can make a big difference: polarity invert and a ground-lift switch.

No other subwoofer anywhere close to the Temblor T10's price range offers a comparable selection of inputs and outputs.

The Temblor T10 provides a choice of three input pairs: two sets of balanced inputs (XLR and 1/4" TRS) and one pair of RCA unbalanced inputs. Pairs of inputs are provided in order to accept a stereo signal from your audio source.
When both of the balanced connections are in use, the TRS inputs will take precedence over the XLR inputs. The RCA inputs will sum into either balanced connection.

You get two pairs of balanced outputs: XLR and 1/4" TRS. The full-range signal connected to the stereo inputs on the T10 is passed through to these outputs so you can connect them to your main left and right studio monitors. If the High Pass Filter switch is engaged, frequencies below 80 Hz are not sent from these outputs.

The T10 also has a balanced XLR output that sends the low-frequency signal from the low-pass filter to a second Temblor T10 for the ultimate in smooth low end.

The Temblor T10 lets you take charge of the low-frequency foundation of your mix with a combination of quality components and design, plenty of inputs and outputs, and extensive user controls not normally available in this price range.
