Notes: This is the main module of the mixer and the only indispensable one, the only one that needs the eurorack power cable. It provides power to all the other modules and contains the summing circuit for all channels in every audio bus.

Video games had a bumper year, and it didn't take long for the historic relationship between computer entertainment and contemporary musical compositions to start finding favour with content-starved editorial teams.

They say there's no turning back, ever, and as such the smart money is on albums like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice not just becoming more commonplace, but taken more seriously going forward. Soundtrack to Activision's critically acclaimed video game of the same name, in which players take on the role of a shinobi in feudal Japan, as you'd expect it's a deeply atmospheric collection that invokes misty mountaintops, shadows dancing off bamboo and patient heroics. An OST equal to any major movie.

Notes: 3-inch records were originally released and marketed for a short time in Japan in the early 2000s, just before the worldwide re-birth of vinyl began to take hold. Fast forward 14 years, the idea of resurrecting the format stemmed from a trip to Japan when representatives of Record Store Day met the only factory that used to make these "8ban" records. After a year of ideation, prototyping, tweaking and collaboration with the Record Store Day team, the RSD3 Mini Turntable by Crosley was born. Don't be fooled by its small stature! This mini belt-drive turntable has a lot of the same features as its big brother: AT3600 moving-magnet cartridge, adjustable pitch control, fully supported platter and aux out port with RCA adapter. The RSD3 has a built-in speaker that gets the job done, but use the aux-out and included RCA cable adapter to hook this mini turntable into larger speakers and you're in for a surprise. Summer 2023 will always be remembered for the cinematic battle that was Barbie vs Oppenheimer, two polar opposite Hollywood smashes that spawned a wave of memes. Both managed to break records but one stands out when it comes to the soundtrack - and that is Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, the three-hour epic about the genesis of the atomic bomb. Written by Ludwig Goransson it now arrives in full, on nice opaque orange vinyl, via Mondo. The music matches the deep trip into the psyche of a singular American mind J. Robert Oppenheimer with plenty of drama and immersive, emotional moments.

The Expression Ramper allows you to pick two expression settings and move between them, either in one motion or as a continuous LFO activated by a single footswitch. Just hook up the Expression Ramper to your expression-enabled effects pedal, simply pick your first expression setting in the A position, then your second in the B position and you're good to go.

From here, you can set Expression Ramper to move between A and B in three different ways. In TRI mode, it glides in a linear Triangle wave sweep from A to B, while in SQR mode it will make instant Square Wave jumps. Both TRI and SQR are LFO modes - you start the LFO when you hit the footswitch once, then stop it as you press the switch again. Alternatively, A<>B mode triggers a cool one-shot sweep, where every press of the footswitch jumps from one position to the other. The speed of the LFO and One-Shot movement is set via the Rate knob.

These simple and intuitive features can unlock worlds of sound. For instance, if you have Expression Ramper hooked up to a pitchshifter, you can create classic Whammy-like octave glides in one-shot mode, stretchy modulation in Triangle wave mode or hypnotic pitch sequences in Square wave mode. Got an expression-enabled phaser? Turn it into a step-filter with Expression Ramper's square wave. Or maybe an expression-enabled delay pedal? Use Expression Ramper to create swelling Feedback waves in Triangle mode or jump between two preset delay times in one-shot mode. The list goes on and on and the possibilities are basically endless.

While it should suit most effects pedals right out the box, Expression Ramper can easily be configured for different polarity or types of expression pedal simulation by using the internal jumpers. Plus, you can even change the supplied internal 50K digital socketed potentiometer and replace it with one of 10K or 100K values if needed. This enables the pedal to be specifically tailored for whatever expression-enabled devices you might have like keyboards, synths, vintage gear or more esoteric sound devices. Notes: Mixup is a versatile, expandable audio mixer for Eurorack format. It has eight inputs (6 on the front panel) and two outputs. Pico BBD is surprisingly great sounding (we were surprised ourselves), full analogue 4092 stage bucket brigade delay module; the smallest BBD in Eurorack.
