Notes: A young talented documentary maker followed the organisation, creatives, decor designers, acts, partners, artists and many other people who have made Mystery Land the most colourful festival in The Netherlands, if not in the world.

This document shows the diversity of the festival and a unique behind the scenes glimpse in the history of Mystery Land. It contains video footage from Mystery Land 1993,1994,1996,1998, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Notes: 2011 marks the 20th Anniversary of 1991: The Year That Punk Broke, a pivotal film centred around the lives and experiences of avant-garde music pioneers Sonic Youth during their 1991 European club and festival tour. Available for the first time on DVD the film also features Nirvana, The Ramones, Dinosaur Jr., Babes In Toyland and Gumball. Filmed just a month prior to the release of Nirvana’s Nevermind it includes the last footage of the band before their meteoric success and sees them performing anthems such as “Smells Like Teen Spirit“, “Polly” and “Negative Creep” and a very rare and unseen performance of “In Bloom”. All footage has been fully restored with the audio re-synced and re-mastered. There is also 65 minutes of unseen bonus material.

Notes: This 30 track DVD is a collection of the best performances by the biggest bands taken from the most recent series. Also included are the interviews with REM, Billy Preston, Coldplay, Solomon Burke, Franz Ferdinand and Pearl Jam, 10 tracks have also been included from the other 'Later...' Notes: For the 13th year in a row, another undoubtedly fantastic edition of Dance Valley took place at Recreation Park Spaarnwoude. An average of 50,000 partygoers from all over the globe find their way to the Recreation Park Spaarnwoude each year in order to submerge to the sets by the absolute DJ elite. "Dance Valley 2007: The Live Registration" is an excellent DVD of the event.

Notes: Never Stop: A Music That Resists (2016, 76 mins)

Featuring the pioneers of techno music Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Carl Craig and Jeff Mills, Never Stop takes us into the fascinating universe of techno labels in Detroit.

This film highlights the deep root of the creation, more than thirty years ago, by each of the African-American pioneers of techno music, of their own record labels. It also tells and shows us how each of these artists bypassed the crisis of the record business, even though this powerful movement paradoxically emerged in Detroit.

OVERVIEW: On November 7th, Warner Bros Records will release the special and highly anticipated two-CD and 3DVD collections that feature unique live performances from many of the phenomenal artists who've performed at the beloved Annual Bridge School Benefit Concerts over the past 25 years. Neil Young organizes the event each year with his wife Pegi Young. A documentary DVD includes 'The Bridge School Story', which gives a special look into this wonderful school and the truly phenomenal services they provide children with advanced physical and communication challenges. Another documentary on the DVD, 'Backstage At The Bridge School Benefit Concert', offers a bird's-eye view of the event itself, along with special features that include heartfelt interviews with the students and the artists.

Notes: The Vision Quest annual main festival "The Gathering" has always been blessed with good sunny weather and we partygoers assumed this would last forever! Well for two years in a row the skies have decided to cool us off with a fair amount of rain. This did not stop thousands of dance fans showing up for the three days extravaganza. Notes: An intimate look at the Woodstock Music & Art Festival held in Bethel, NY in 1969, from preparation through cleanup, with historic access to insiders, blistering concert footage and portraits of the concertgoers; negative and positive aspects are shown, from drug use by performers to naked fans sliding in the mud, from the collapse of the fences by the unexpected hordes to the surreal arrival of National Guard helicopters with food and medical assistance for the impromptu city of 500,000.

Notes: 'Armin Only' is the English version of the Armin 'Road Biography' written by Coen Bom. Armin van Buuren was voted world's most popular DJ In the 'Top 100 DJ Poll' in 2008. This book takes a closer look at him in the year leading up to this important event. Across countless trips around the world, sharing and creating great music, numerous performances at interesting places and interviews with friends, parents and his manager it reveals an in-depth and personal glimpse into the life of the DJ we have all come to like and love. Notes: Let the Music Play: How R&B Fell in Love with 80s Synths is the overlooked story of how R&B, disco and funk were transformed by the explosion of music tech in the era of ghetto blasters and Ronald Reagan. Notes: To resonate: re-sonare. To sound again with the immediate implication of a doubling. Sound and its double: sent back to us, reflected by surfaces, diffracted by edges and corners. Sound amplified, swathed in an acoustics that transforms it. Sound enhanced by its passing through a certain site, a certain milieu. Sound propagated, reaching out into the distance. But to resonate is also to vibrate with sound, in unison, in synchronous oscillation. To marry with its shape, amplifying a common destiny. To join forces with it. And then again, to resonate is to remember, to evoke the past and to bring it back. Or to plunge into the spectrum of sound, to shape it around a certain frequency, to bring out sonic or electric peaks from the becoming of signals.

Resonance embraces a multitude of different meanings.

Or rather, remaining always identical, it is actualised in a wide range of different phenomena and circumstances. Such is the multitude of resonances evoked in the pages below: a multitude of occurrences, events, sensations, and feelings that intertwine and welcome one other. Everyone may have their own history, everyone may resonate in their own way, and yet we must all, in order to experience resonance at a given moment, be ready to welcome it. The welcoming of what is other, whether an abstract outside or on the contrary an incarnate otherness ready to resonate in turn, is a condition of resonance. This idea of the welcome is found throughout the texts that follow, opening up the human dimension of resonance, a dimension essential to all creativity and to any exchange, any community of mind. Which means that resonance here is also understood as being, already, an act of paying attention, i.e. a listening, an exchange.

Addressing one or other of the forms that this idea of resonating can take on (extending, evoking, reverberating, revealing, transmitting), each of the contributions brought together in this volume reveals to us a personal aspect, a fragment of the enthralling territory of sonic and musical experimentation, a territory upon which resonance may unfold. The book has been designed as a prism and as a manual. May it in turn find a unique and profound resonance in each and every reader.

Notes: This book has been conceived as both a prism and a manual. Following the "traditional" arc of electroacoustic composition (listen-record-compose-deploy-feel), each of the contributions collected together here focuses in on a personal aspect, a fragment of that thrilling territory that is sonic and musical experimentation.

Although the term "experimental music" may now have be understood as referring to a genre, or even a particular style, we ought to hold on to the original use of this term, which was based more on an approach than on any particular aesthetic line to be followed. The experimental is first and foremost a spirit, the spirit of the exploration of unknown territories, a spirit of invention which sees musical composition more as a voyage into uncertain territories than as a self-assured approach working safe within the bosom of fully mapped out and recognized lands.
