Uprising (Lauer Ghost Rider instrumental version)
Review: Thus spake Zaratustra, who clambered down from his mountain lair after ten years of brooding and solitude to let the people of the meadows and grasslands know of the true nature of reality; the overman, aka. Stolt. Nietzsche references aside, this new release by French disco artist Zaratustra, in collaboration with singer Stolt, is a riveting take on electro-disco-Italo; 'Uprising' is a ricocheting heater of immeasurable proportions, channelling the spirit of hi-NRG and new wave in its vocal shrieks, eighth-note bass runs and gated splashy snares. A veritably worthy addition to Skylax's LAX series.

Honoris III: Tribute To Bauhaus EP
Cat: SOIL 019. Rel: 12 Apr 23

Years Of Denial - "All We Ever Wanted" (5:33)
Blind Delon - "Mask" (5:17)
Selfishadow - "Kick In The Eye" (3:27)
Chris Shape - "Bela Lugosi's Dead" (feat Velvet Kills) (7:11)
Soj - "Lagartija Nick" (feat Petra Flurr) (5:19)
Radikal Kuss - "Dark Entries" (3:49)
Review: This new compilation by the (literally) grassroots Spanish label Soil pays tribute to the late incipient goth band Bauhaus - known for their volatile performances, blackened and deathly sound, and later controversial antics. Aiming to highlight the band's admixture of glam with goth, irreverent demeanour, and strange fusions of dub, regional music and post-punk, artists and groups such as Years Of Denial, Selfishadows and Radikal Kuss deliver six curveball takes on Bauhaus' great songs, from 'All We Ever Wanted' to the unmatchable 'Dark Entries'.

PRZ - "NOT NOW" (4:39)
Robyrt Hecht - "Driveby" (3:19)
Review: Hilltown Disco have been nurturing their own micro scene up in Dundee, bringing a punchy, gnarly strain of electro to the Scottish city and creating a strong community around it. Now that community comes out in force to celebrate five years of the label and club night, presenting a cast of underground operators singing from the same hymn sheet. Whatever stripe of electro you're into, you're sure to find something to sink your gnashers into here. Keep an extra attentive ear out for the opening track from W1BO, the sadly departed Wibo Lammerts, who the five-track release is dedicated to.

Body Music (6:12)
Body Music (Shed remix) (5:02)
Remember (6:35)
Remember (dub) (5:45)
Review: The Kreuzbergkillers label kicks off in fine form with a split release from Sven Von Thulen and Spencer Parker, backed up by a remix from the mighty Shed. 'Body Music', as the title would suggest, sees Von Thulen indulging in a vintage strain of machine music where techno and EBM cross over into fiercely potent, physical club music. Shed takes a surgical approach to the track and creates his own artfully sliced and squashed techno workout. On the flip, Parker creates a feverish mood with looped up samples, discordant low end and more jack than a whole season of 24. Look out for the dub if you want the pressure in a more heads down style.

Carpet Crawler (6:54)

Saffron (6:06)
Take My Hand (7:03)
Review: Voal is Shoal and Vand and is already a stamp of quality off this one EP alone if you like your techno deep. 'Carpet Crawler' is a great name for a track that is all about bendy bass and warped, low lying synth lines that creep like snakes thorough the undergrowth. 'Luficer' then has a more hiccupping deep tech rhythm that is embellished with spooky and watery sound effects. 'Saffron' is another mind melting trip through bendy techno brilliance and last of all, 'Take My Hand' slows things down and strips things back to more expert atmospherics.

Prelude (8:17)
Foundation (7:45)
Prelude (Suolo remix) (12:35)
Review: Aussie imprint Maru is back with an impressive double header from Israel's Soyro and the mysterious editor USERUNKNWN. On the first side is 'Prelude', an ethereal tech house groove that rolls deep yet aimed surely at the main room dancefloor. Over on the flip, there's the rolling and bass driven 'Foundation' which again nails that Rominimal vibe and features a truly evocative atmosphere. Over on the flip, Bucharest-based DJ/producer Suolo gets onboard for a microhouse remix of the A-side track, taking it into heady afterhours territory.

Uniix - "Mindegy" (7:36)
Shato - "Nephilim" (7:26)
Dubfound - "Sonya Baskerville" (9:11)
Review: Cough & Laugh is a rather unusual name for a label and it deals in rather unusual minimal sounds. Following a couple of head-turning first EPs it now offers up this fine various artists release with a trip of tunes from a trip of new talents. Uniix's 'Mindegy' opens up with a glitchy mix of dry hits and sinewy sine waves all peppered with a freaky mix of vocal fragments. Shato's 'Nephilim' then takes a darker turn with ghoulish sounds and synth mutations over an icy beat. Dubfound takes over the flip side with 'Sonya Baskerville', a supple minimal rhythm with well-worked samples smeared into the kinetic mix.

Karnage & Rider Shafique - "Iceman" (4:08)
DJ Sofa - "Lost" (6:02)
Sam ULG - "Continual Drift" (6:47)
Review: The bad news? We're all absolutely doomed. There's no way back from where humanity has taken us. We seem drawn like moths to a dystopic light. The good news? If this is anything to go by (or the inaugural one back in 2018) then hell has a ruddy sick soundtrack. Deep, beguiling, disarming; vibes on this black mirror menu range from the pure drama and stern soliloquy of Rider Shafique over 'Iceman' with Karnage and the tribal hypnosis of Sofa's 'Lost' (which is a really interesting departure from the jungle she is best known for) and plenty of dubby reflection rippling throughout. See you on the dark side.

Troy - "Yann" (6:44)
Svarog & Ma-Gooch - "Spaces" (5:44)
Luigi Tozzi - "Haboob" (6:02)
Jonas Korbl - "Primal Grade" (6:24)
Review: Dynamic Reflection keeps up its impeccable run of form with a tasteful various artists EP featuring some innovative talents. Troy is first out of the blocks with the stripped-back and dubby techno energy of 'Yann' which locks you in with its loopy melodic riffs. Svarog & Ma-Gooch offers the much deeper and heady 'Spaces' with its groaning loops and super smooth linear drums. Luigi Tozzi follows a similarly economical path with the seductive bass and synth loops of the undulating and transcendental 'Haboob' which leaves Jonas Korbl to close out with 'Primal Grade.' Though still steeped in hi-fidelity sound design, this one hits harder with a more bulky low end and swinging bass.

Trisicloplox - "Megastructure" (5:48)
Sectra - "Dead On Arrival" (5:29)
Review: Denver dark lords Trisicloplox and Sectra gear up for DNO's 10th release with four uncompromising schematics the flex across the IDM / electro spectrum. Taking two tracks apiece, the pair lay down some stern sonics; 'Mail Theft' is a steppy piece of pulsating rattler, 'Bruised' is a slow-mo stomp-out, 'Megastructure' has that industrial funk swagger while 'Dead On Arrival' brings us to an apocalyptic conclusion with rasping acid and brittle, swinging two-step breakbeats. Dead or alive these structures are coming with us.

Dirty Dubstep/Trap/Grime
Carnage (5:09)
Nocturnal (6:28)
Ninety Nine (5:33)
Review: Grime legends Trends, Boylan and Slimzee have made independent names for themselves over the years for their enduring contributions to the underground; the former two artists first cropped up on our radar after a string of horror-movie-themed grime bits which first proliferated virally on the internet. Slimzee, on the other hand, has been there from the beginning, co-founding the legendary Rinse FM pirate station among other things. We can't contain our excitement for this fresh, psychotic release for Etch's Sneaker Social Club; returning to the trio's penchant for oppressively trappy instrumentals, there are newer explorations in breakstep and garage, fleshing out the many teeth-gritted possibilities of the eight-bar rhythm. Haunting, atrophied sonic skeletons from a dream trio.

Toby Tobias - "On My Mind" (Freak mix) (5:27)
Shy One - "Uncle G" (4:33)
Kieran Jandu - "From My Soul" (6:15)
Review: London wax institution Phonica continue to celebrate their 20th anniversary as a label in deep-digging, highly eclectic style. This fourth sampler continues to hint at a much larger VA album with a wide range of sounds across the techno/jungle axis. Tim Reaper & Comfort Zone get us in the groove with the savage drum funk of 'Subterranean' while Toby Tobias eases down the tempo and takes us to some mystical places on the Balearic-on-Mars funk of 'On My Mind'. Meanwhile on the flip Shy One goes full-on Co-Op / Bugz vibes with its sparse broken beat jazziness while Orphic's Kieran Jandu closes the EP on a bumping early 90s-inspired techno roll-out. Happy anniversary Phonica.

Fluid - "The Man With Three Heads" (8:47)
Review: Kalahari Oyster Cult serve up a three-way split here, but all of the different alases are the same artists. That man is Dominic Glynn aka Syzygy (a duo with Justin McKay) who is also Fluid and Luke Warmwater. He has been hiding in the shadows for a few years until now but makes a welcome return with two unreleased tracks and another two enhanced re-edits. Each one shows his knack for hi speed, glistening techno that is riddled with acid lines, bright chords and a sense of machine soul normally associated with the Motor City.

Review: This translucent purple vinyl looks as good as it sounds thanks to the work of DJ PESHAY, Sync Dynamix and The Advanc3d. They draw on an authentic 90s sound but with plenty of modern production touches to bring it up to date. The drums are well defined and dance about the stern field with warm soul synths and well chosen vocals. Part jungle, art rave, but good vibes - this is a classic EP in the making. Big shout out to the artwork too which is from the one and only Junior Tomlin.

This most effective and useful scratch tool comes on 12" from Symatic and celebrates a decade of the imprint with two sides and over 20 minutes of re-mastered samples and new vocal scratch sentences. Secret Ceremonies (4:08)
Lost In 1st Avenue Loop (4:47)
Microdot (6:32)
Review: Mystique is a brand new label out of the always fertile Dutch scene and it opens its account with a no holds-barred EP from Sylvester Javier, aka Stefano Curti of Vibraphone fame. He offers three originals and two versions starting with 'Secret Ceremonies' (Italo Disco mix) which is a pulsating house cut awash with plenty of across textures and percussion. The Cocorico mix has shimmering vocal sounds stitched into the arrangement and the original has a spooky, rather eerie feel with its hurried drums and squirrelling synths. 'Lost In 1st Avenue Loop' is a gritty Detroit house cut with heart of the dance floor intensity and 'Microdot' gets as twisted as you would expect of such a track title. A fine debut EP overall.

A staple of DJ sets by everyone from Derrick May and Laurent Garnier to James Murphy, this Harvey Fuqua and Patrick Cowley production from 1979 is a truly timeless classic whose spirit still lives to this day on modern dancefloors. James Reid - "Absence" (6:55)
Review: Hungary's Juuz label clocks up a third outing here with another tasteful various artists affair. Swoy gets things going with 'Life Is Love,' a fat slice of cosmic tech funk with sci-fi effects. Martin M's 'Think Of Ways' is another disco-tech exploration with clean and crisp sound design and punchy drums, then Ckb brings some low-slung and dubbed-out business on the Villalobos-esque 'Accents.' James Reid is last up with his slightly more thoughtful and sparse 'Absence', the gloopy bass and freaky designs finished with some introverted pad work.

Gaia Planet (8:54)
From Within (3:40)
Review: Warm Sounds hits release number 15 with more of its signature house grooves and they come from a pairing who have often worked together before to great effect. That is John Swing feat David Soleil Mon and they offer up a trio of delightfully left-of-centre deep house and minimal cuts starting with 'Find Your Way' which deservedly takes up the whole of the a-side and is a sublime excursion. 'Gaia Planet' is a dusty, lo-fi and mysterious beatdown with chords full of suspense and 'From Within' closes down with more paddy kick drums and wispy synth details.

Review: House music has been huge in South Africa for some time, and not just in the underground but everywhere - it can be heard on radio, bleeding from car stereos and out of boomboxes all over the townships. It has its own distinctive twist and influences and some of those are explored on this new Voom Voom 12", which is just the second from this label. It features different remixes of two originals and all are steeped in sun-drenched synths, with funky Afro rhythms underpinning the lush vocals. A heart warming EP of real house depth.

Super Deep (6:18)
What's Wrong (6:51)
Underwater Adrenalinn (8:01)
Against Your Idea (5:28)
Review: Hot on the heels of his rather good - though not particularly sub-heavy - Beast In My Bass EP on Automatic Writing, Sweely pitches up on Mulen for the very first time. In keeping with his evolving style, opener 'Super Deep' sits somewhere between deep house and tech-house, with warming, fluttering chords and whispered female vocal snippets riding bumping, US garage-influenced drums and heavy, chunky bass. 'What's Wrong' employs similar beats and bass but sees Sweely opt for jazzier chords, glitchy electronics and spacey stabs, while 'Underwater Adrenalinn'[sic] is darker and creepier in tone whilst retaining his usual funky drums and deep bass. Closing cut 'Against Your Idea', meanwhile, doffs a cap to late 1990s UK tech-house while being framed for 21st century dancefloors.

Teaming up with local electronic scene pushers Secret Society, we get the grand tour of Sweater's system, i.e. a blooping calculus of endless machine-dance tabulations, kept accounts, and electrified convertible dancefloors. 'S F D' and 'Portals' make neat use of FMs, sine tones and filterswept retrosynths, while a much looser breaks-house remix from fellow producer Sit of 'Portals' is also heard on the B.

Review: UK-based Yuri Suzuki has been sneaking out high-quality machine jams for a long time now, riffing with DMX Krew on 7777, popping up on Herbert's Accidental Jnr label and bringing the heat to Super Rhythm Trax last year. Now he's landed on German label Sketches for another expert excursion into raw outboard expression, where tension and restraint become as potent as distortion and intensity in making these dancefloor bombs. 'Drastic' is a fine case in point for build-up and release that doesn't resort to brute force but instead focuses on psychoactive sonic results. If you value rugged acid delivered with finesse, you'll be more than satisfied with Suzuki's latest set of squelchy work outs.

Kelly is always out to disrupt and subvert and does so with aplomb here as the a-side title track starts with a whisper but soon grows with layers of found sound, piano, percussion, and ethereal voices. Next up is Supersanity with one much such track that is pressed up to a one-sided and hand-stamped vinyl. 'Bender' is named after the Futurama character who is stamped onto the label and is a warped and late-night afterparty take on deep techno with percolating synth motifs and a spoken word vocal that sounds emo and indie. It's sure to make for some brilliantly WTF moments in the club.

Review: Leading the way for minimal sounds in their hometown of Venice, Caposile present the second volume of their The Sound Of Garden series with another four high-quality workouts aiming at the subtler kind of dancefloor. Mihai Pol is up first with 'Sugar Rush', a trippy delight with bouncy bass and shimmering synths garnished with an iconic sample. Francesco Maddalena ups the tempo and creates a swirling dream of garage house-meets-jazzy ambient that should grease up the dancers a treat. Giuliano Lomonte locks in for a heady ride through gated chords and teasing patterns with elegance at their core, and Sublee drops something rougher with the old-skool stylings of 'Day Six', a boxy jam that would sound right at home on Nu Groove.

Eastward (5:10)
Review: Super JV is a new name on us, but the producer's debut EP - the first 12" to come from the freshly minted DISCO.VERY imprint - is genuinely brilliant. Check first opener 'Secret Dream', an analogue-rich and sonically kaleidoscopic fusion of turn-of-the-90s Italian dream house/ambient house sonics (including the obligatory piano-powered breakdown), TB-303 bass and rolling electro breakbeats. Lipelis remixes, adding sparkling jazz guitar solos and a chunkier groove for maximum Balearic house pleasure. Elsewhere, 'Caribbean Queen' joins the dots between the Balearic end of the synth-pop spectrum and some of the smoother, NYC electrofunk influenced things in the Pet Shop Boys' mid-80s catalogue, while 'Eastward' is a saucer-eyed slab of organ-sporting revivalist Italo-house.

Review: If you love the sound of Get Physical and similarly anthemic German techno labels, you're going to love this release on new label Didschn. The label nods to a track Super Flu released back in 2010, which was remixed to great effect by Monkey Safari a couple of years back. Now Super Flu open proceedings on this new release in partnership with Ivan Mas on the epic, infectious 'It's A House Day'. Monkey Safari then hop on the B-side for 'Malmedy', which hits a sweet spot near the mid-00s melodic minimal you'd hear from the likes of Gabriel Ananda. The A-side cut is sublime ambient techno awash in layers of intricately woven textures, led by a gently bouncing arpeggio. Track 1 (7:22)
Track 2 (7:37)
Review: Suoni Incisi is very ably marking itself out as a new school leader in tribal, trance-tinged new age and mind-melting deep techno of the sort that Need and Voices From the Lake have mastered before now. The eponymous artists steps up again here with two more long-form cuts - the first being an undulating, rubbery cut with heady flutes and super-deep bass rotations that sink you into a mindful state immediately. 'Track 2' is no more hurried and again takes a slow-burning approach with languid synths and liquid details peeling off the linear but loose drums. What an EP.

Review: Sun's Signature is one of the many diasporic offshoots of the dream pop world trailblazed by the Cocteau Twins and bands like them. The collaborative project of the Twins' Elizabeth Fraser and Bunnymen/Spiritualized percussionist Damon Reece, the duo's debut EP - now reissued on vinyl a year after its digital debut on Partisan - came as a unique curveball for either artist. Five tracks of distinctive chamber pop whirl away on the hi-fi, playing out in a midst of synaesthetically yellow-tinged dream haze, with forensic traces of trip-hop and film music to boot. Afraid netiher of folk harmonies nor huge-roomed drum workouts, the likes of 'Apples', 'Bluedusk' and 'Make Lovely The Day' are sure to go down as enduring additions to the dream pop continuum.

Review: German techno mainstay Markus Suckut has been churning out tunes and high profile DJ sets since the 90s, always tweaking his own template while remaining true to seductive and loopy sound. His own SCKT label is now well into its second decade and still, he is finding freshness in the studio. The latest fruits of his labours include 'Observe', a stripped-back, economical and heady techno roller with dubbed-out drums. 'Illusion' has more swing thanks to the rolling kicks and fresh hits underneath icy hi hat ringlets and 'Alteration' then explores more of a dubbed-out deep house sound that is gritty but inviting. 'And Dreams' is dubby again, this time in a minimal style for those 5am sessions.

Review: Marcus Suckut has proven himself to be remarkably consistent when it comes to turning out high grade techno weapons. Most of them come on his own SCKT label and now he kicks off 2024 with some more of those tantalising tools. 'Metal' is deep and stripped back with rubbery drum thuds beneath pulsating synth loops and rising hi hat tension. 'Pressure' is another deft cut that floats in deepest space with barely-there synth whispers and 'Moving Walls' then rides deep on dub techno under currents. 'Concrete' closes out this classy EP with a widescreen dub cavern fulled with watery details.

Review: Marcus Suckut is a bonafide techno titan and his own label backs that up as it approaches its 100th release. It might be true that you always know what you're going to get here but that doesn't mean it isn't always high-functioning techno. 'Metal' is a dubby and linear cut made from minimal components, then 'Pressure' gets even more paired back and deep with an eerie sense of tension pervading the whole groove. There is a little extra energy to 'Moving Walls' but it's still a heady roller and 'Concrete' then shuts down with a nice languid bassline and dub hits that echo to infinity.

Review: 'Keep Fighting' is a mantra we can all live by no matter our circumstances, whether they are personal, financial, emotional or on a more global scale and affect us all. And what better way to stay empowered than with some belting techno from Subradeon who is now back with a fourth transmission on his own self-titled label. 'Improvement' opens up with bulky techno kicks and screwed synths, but it is the political speech layered over the top that really puffs out your chest. 'Keep Fighting' is a surging, pulsing, euphoric techno pumper, and 'Brothers & Sisters' sounds like a perfect mix of the first two tunes. 'We Are Still Struggling' ends on head-held-high Detroit tech soul.

Review: Submorphics deals in a unique sound: lo-fi drum n' bass. Yes, what was once reserved for a new style house can definitely be abstracted into other genres, contrary to what the less open-minded among us would have you believe. 'Verona Highway' is just that: working in old soulful house samples and self-recorded highpassed radio synths, the Netherlands-based artist works in a serene palette of sounds to convey a drum n' bassy idea of a late night Detroit to Chicago road trip aesthetic.

He is someone with a unique style that is built on 174 bpm British foundations but adds elements from the foundational and more contemporary US styles of his homeland, from Detroit house to Chicago footwork. This debut 12' shows that to be the case again with 'Blastoff' bringing a lively juke-inspired rhythm with silky synths and nice lush chords. 'Cinerama' is another smooth roller, this time with spine-tingling female vocals.

Review: Subjoi delivers a luscious cut of pensive, dusty dance units, topping up his credo as a mainstay on Lost Palms since its inception. A rare example of deep modern melancholia, we're reminded of the sensibility of the adjacent lo-fi house, or Galcher Lustwerk's hip-house hearstring-pullings. 'Know You Better' opts for 2-steppy woodblocks and belly-aching piano chords, with a central vocal line stuttering in a butterflying stasis. We'll leave you to discern the beauty of the ensuing tracks yourself, but we must add that 'Rotary' is our romantic highlight, a space-age breaks lurcher with swelling strings and recondite filtersweeps.

The boss himself offers up a Bluetrain special edition dub of Hidden Sequence's 'Synapse' which is all icy lines and liquid rhythms which make you think of some frozen lake on a misty morning. Review: Steve O'Sullivan's Mosaic label is back with a second volume of its dubs series, this time on nice yellow vinyl with Sub Basics and Fletcher given one side each to shine. Sub Basics goes first with 'Mediterranean', a lovely liquid dub with bottomless depths and perfectly smooth, frictionless drums. Lovely soft melodies drift in and out as the echoing hits and icy hi-hats help oil this most heady of grooves. On the flip, Fletcher offers up 'Sludge' which is a little more tense and menacing, with darker bass and more texture as well as distant groaning pads that keep you guessing and on edge.

Review: Styloo was a collective of musicians who turned out a handful of successful Italo disco sounds back in the genre's heyday in the eighties. Rino Facchinetti was on vocals, programming and was the founder of the band and he was joined by Tullio Colombo on vocals and guitar and Alberto Signorini with more keys. Pretty Face was their compelling debut outing on Hoel Records back in 1983 and it has been reissued to mark its 40th anniversary. It's a perfect Eurodance and Italo fusion with drums and synths very much redolent of the 80s all characterising the cut next to the flamboyant and camp vocal turns.

Review: Diego Strausz's first outing on Razor N Tape, a seven-inch single released in January 2021, was a thrillingly vibrant and hard-to-pigeonhole affair, with the Brazilian joining the dots between Batacuda, Brazilian disco, boogie and deep jazz-funk. This belated follow-up features superb, never-before-heard extended versions of those two tracks: the Azymuth-esque drums-synths-and-percussion explosion that is 'Emancipacao' and '50 Anos Em 5', a TB-303 acid-sporting slab of Latin jazz-fusion with bonus spacey synths. Perhaps the package's most notable moment though is Ron Trent's inspired remix of the title track, which in typical fashion sees the legendary deep house producer add extra layers of musicality, sun-kissed positivity and plenty of killer house-not-house beats.

The San Bernardo Superstrada Version is a glorious one with heady Italo synth work and subtle strings lighting up the retro-future electronic disco grooves. I:Cube brings more depth and weight to his house learning version while Laur goes for a blissed-out chugger that will get your head amongst the stars. Last of all is the In Flagranti Remix Dub with nice loose percussion and soothing chord work.

Review: The debut EP by Stranger In Paradise, a new solo project of Irish producer Dibby Dougherty, thoroughly impresses us, thanks to its clever use of suspense in melody and sensitive treatment of an often unsensitive genre. Mixed for a subtler breed of listener than your average wiry electro enjoyer, the likes of 'The Waves Of Hamo Bay' and 'Stranger In Paradise' are softly mixed, with pads and synths prioritised before drums, recalling the feeling of soaring over utopian Metropoli in a luxury hovercar - not scouring their desolate post-apocalyptic ruins, as is a more common theme in much electro. Shinra and Gurd's remixes are simpler, but still provide a nice counterpoint to the A-side's subtle cleverness.

Review: Low, crunchy, textural new techno from Rob Stow, reflective of a distinctively Northern UK sound. Influenced by the incipient points of Detroit and Chicago but filtered through a Brutalism that could only ever come from an English morbidity, the likes of 'Mono 90' and 'Chug' unfurl like the quick construction of a prefabricated housing estate. Simple and to the point, with its bouncy, sharp lead bounce-synth, you likely won't want to cross whoever runs the local pirate 'Don't FM' in a dark alleyway either.

Review: Music From Memory are spending some time exploring the world of music created for dance and performance. There's a common interest in experimentation between the mediums, but not at the cost of musicality, which comes here with a distinct 80s veneer. Gerard Stokkink has a thread of drama and poise about the vivid synthscapes of "Yellow Turtles" while the self-titled track from Ivory Playground calls to mind the delicate fingerpicking guitar you might expect to hear from Alexis Georgopoulos & Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. Atlantis Transit Project have a heavier tribal lilt to the percussion on "Bird Perspective", and Ramuntcho Matta's "Zoique III" holds a mirror up to the freaky disco drum work of Jan Schulte and Niklas Wandt.
