Techno
  1. Ancient Methods - "Cradle The True Side Of Reality" (6:50)
  2. OTHR - "Damage Your Pain" (5:47)
  3. Phase Fatale - "Cursing Losses" (5:20)
  4. Roman - "Break The Matrix" (5:51)
Review: The KHIDI label kicks off with a stern statement of intent from a batch of blackened souls in the techno domain. First up is Ancient Methods, who marches forth with the militant brutalism of "Cradle The True Side Of Reality" before OTHR turns in some cinematic EBM-flavoured intensity with "Damage Your Pain". Berlin-based Berghain warrior Phase Fatale turns up on the B-side with the hard thrum of "Cursing Losses", before Roman delivers the finishing blow with the mean-spirited surge of "Break The Matrix". This is maximalist techno with an industrial bite just begging to be heard clanging around darkened cathedrals of endless night.

Techno
  1. Planet Is Transparent (3:55)
  2. Wild Qualia (5:50)
  3. Vocation (7:50)
Review: Besides a cameo role on Optimo late last year, little is known about Odd Lust beyond the fact that they make some rather fascinating (and handsomely dark) techno. Take 'Planet Is Transparent', a 150 BPM broken drum electro homage that sits closer to drum & bass than it does trad techno. It's backed by the slower, more curmudgeonly electro of the title track before 'Vocation' closes with a tight weave of acid slappage. Odd by name, mesmerising by nature.

  1. Post-Typhoon Shakedown (7:14)
  2. From The Cockpit (8:22)
  3. Love The Lights (7:21)
  4. Paw Print (8:38)
Review: Conoley Ospovat is back on Kimochi Sound, who have honoured the occasion with a super limited, hand-numbered plum vinyl 12" in spray-painted sleeve. It looks delicious and sounds just as good: 'Post-Typhoon Shakedown' does somehow capture the energy after a storm - that sense of calm, with dew in the air and optimism everywhere. It's a brilliantly bubbly house cut that makes way for the more spaced out tech house minimalism of 'From the Cockpit', an expansive track that gets you into a nice calm head space. 'Love The Lights' keeps you there with an even more reduced deep house brew while the closer is a summery, leggy instrumental house cut packed with interest.
