Alicia Keys released 'Feelin U, Feelin Me' back in 2004 and it's a rather slept-on and soulful classic. But that is likely to change with this series of fresh remixes from DJ Clear and DJ Kurtiss (aka Curtis Vodka). First up is a smooth and dusty deep house rework with curious melodies and smoky sax, then a more stripped-back version closes out the A-side. Review: While hardly a "Holy Grail"all bar a few people didn't know it existed until recently, D.J Never Sleep's sole single, the private press gem 'Teorema', can certainly be described as "buried treasure". It was reportedly the work of some experienced Italian producers, though its' sound is all Spanish guitar solos, early house-meets-Latin freestyle beats, joyous Piano riffs and evocative female vocals, it is pure formative Balearic house. This Thank You reissue not only showcases the original EP's two leading mixes (track two here, the more chugging and synth bass-sporting rework, is the pick), but also a never-released, effects-laden 'Never Sleepy Beats' drum took, plus versions in Spanish (B1) and French (B2).

Review: DJ Pirna's new EP has a rather unreconstructed title in 'It Smells Like Bootyhole On Mars Bring Me Back To Earth!' but there is nothing wrong with the beats. The six tunes are all sizzling dancefloor workouts that draw on juke, house, footwork and electro and first up is the soulful sound of 'Where You Are Is Not Who You Are' before 'Trashman' gets all wonky. 'Freak Show' is a thrill gin and high-speed electro looper, while deeper atmospheres pervade the slower 'Cleanin' Up', jazzy overtones of 'Real Thang' and then last of all is the title cut with its spinning hi-hats, funky breaks and boogie bass.

Review: Last year's Detroit Get Down EP showcased the very best of Galaxy 2 Galaxy keys-man Jon Dixon, a musician and producer who genuinely 'gets' the intergalactic tech-soul ethos of 'hi-tech jazz'. On Vocal Sessions Volume 1, Dixon also proves that he can write and produce superb floor-filling songs, too. 'Feel Your Touch', featuring the sublime singing of L Renee, is a top-drawer chunk of bouncy Motor City deep house smothered in twinkling electric piano solos, while 'I Keep Falling', featuring Kenny Watson on lead vocals, is an impeccably soulful slab of atmospheric broken beat/deep house fusion. Of the accompanying reworks, we're particularly feeling the Kaidi Tatham style 'Brixton Mix' of 'I Keep Falling' and Jimpster's gorgeous, sun-splashed rework of 'Feel Your Touch'.

Review: Digital Imagination first dropped their The Essence of Thought back in the nineties and now the cult favourite gets a nice reissue in time for summer when it will be perfect post-rave comedown tackle. It is a sci-fi inspired mixture of house, transcend trip hop of the era with lots of analogue action and dusty drum breaks, smart little samples that add a cinematic edge and some lovely basslines. It was produced by a young Ted Heinz and originally release by Concept Records. OGs are hard to come by so don't sleep on the one which has been restored from the original DAT tape.

Review: Sound Metaphors has lined up a bunch of killer EPs to drop in quick fashion and this one from Data features several different versions of one fantastic single. 'Extroscopic' is deft techno with nimble baselines and light synths that float through space on the Extroscopic version while the dub is even more warm and bubbly. 'Extroscopic' (Trancextro Scopie) has more trance-tinged chord work and then Anatolian Weapons turns out a more psychedelic version with silvery percussive chatter and last of all a Deep Mix that is indeed a heads down back room techno trip.

Review: Joe Babylon's cultured US label Roundabout Sounds has never rushed music out but when it does serve up new material it is always timeless and top quality. This latest EP is the first installment in the new All Hands series and it features some real house heavyweights. Frits Wentink kicks off with the mystic and lo-fi depths of 'Jellyfish, then DJ Aakmael layers up his soft edge chords and cuddly kicks drums with some muted horn motifs that bring the romance. The label head brings some upright drums and spoken word lyrics for a beautifully warm sound and last of all Detroit royalty Rick Wilhite links with Jon Easley for a final blissed-out and breezy deep house day dream.

Krafty Kuts is known for his unique beats from hip-hop to ghetto funk, while DJ Robert Smith is more known for his scratches and turntable work. After Krafty passed on a few beats to DJRS in 2021, Smith quickly realized that he wanted to create an EP from said beats, and in doing so set about enlisting the help of his connections, fomented and cemented all over the world. Review: Sascha Dive has been around underground house circles forever, always offering up his own deep take on the genre with a fresh European twist. The Deep Vibes Recordings label head brings plenty of dub-tech stylings to this new one which opens with 'Natural Forces' with its rolling, steel plated drums and far-sighted chords that are sustained so long you cannot fail but zone out. Add in some smoky Robert Owens vocals and you have a real classic. 'Dub Chronicles and 'Time For A Change' then complete the trip in the flip with more superbly stylish and widescreen sounds for low lit basements and cosy back rooms.

Review: American neo-soul pin-up D'Angelo has released a couple of the smoothest records of the last 30 years. He even made a welcome comeback in the mid 2010s and added some more magic to his cannon. Here Kero Uno remixes a couple of his tunes and ups their funky quotient to make them more suitable to dancefloors. First, he flips 'Spanish Joint' into a key-laced and funky workout with low-slung, hip-swinging grooves sure to seduce next to the zippy synth leads. On the flip is his hot take on 'Feel Like Makin' Love', another bona-fide gem full of heart and soul.

Review: The newly formed Dreadlionsmusic label out of Austria debuts here with a fresh EP featuring the eponymous producer Dreadlionsmusic. They take charge of two tunes - the first features the mic work of Fitta Warri on 'Full Control' which has fleshy drums wobbling backwards and forwards and natty dub vocals with some fresh and futuristic synth work next to classic chords. Dreadlionsmusic then offers up a dub take, as they also do of the second tune 'Heart & Soul'. The original is another bit of well-made dub steeped in tradition but with fresh production bringing it right up to date.

Review: Chris 'The Dub Organiser' Lane meets Soothsayer Horns here and the results are simply irresistible. 'Soul Dragon Anthem' is a real gem with heart-swelling horn leads that toot and rouse. The chords are lazy and loose and a sprinkling of percussion and natty guitar riffs are integral to the rhythm overall. This 12" comes with some fresh artwork from Jeb Loy Nichols as well as three hefty dub versions, all of which do plenty of damage on a loud system. Another crucial 12" from Ital Counsellor.

Review: A deliberate exercise in Y2K aesthetics and cyberpunk electrance comes in the creative output of DJ Natural Nate - his latest EP for Hoodwink Recordings, 'Notes To Jiggabot' - which consists of four tracks eulogizing his cybernetic partner-in-crime, Jiggabot (several releases from this pair have come out since mid 2018) and seemingly the object of his fantasmic affections. Whether the likes of new numbers 'Chasing The Rhythm', 'I Will Shine For You' or 'Far Away' originate from some angelic conceptual otherworld or this banal material one, it's hard not to love the signifiers poured into the EP: US freestyle jaunts, pure femme vocals doused in reverb-reverbs and melismatic hums; hyper-compressed, lightsabre-sculpted beats and visual cues reminiscent of childhoods spent lost in postmodern futuristic fantasies, such as those of Deus Ex or Blade Runner.

Review: German artist Sascha Dive is a true deepsmith. His house, dub and techno sounds are always for fans of heady grovers only and nothing changes in that regard on this new one for Movida. 'Natural Forces' is the sort of grainy, warming house roller that is perfect for backrooms, especially as it is graced with the smoky vocals of Chicago house legend Robert Owens. Review: 'Neat Neat Neat' might have only been the second single released by The Damned, but its timeless longevity as an essential punk staple has seen it appear in episodes of The Simpsons and The Boys while Edgar Wright would give the track yet another lease on life by using it to score the intense opening chase sequence in 2017's Baby Driver. That's before even mentioning the vastly differing artists it has influenced with everyone from My Chemical Romance to Elvis Costello taking a stab. Review: Minimal production/DJ master Ricardo Villalobos enjoys a renown that lends him just about enough credo to release anything he likes whenever he likes and this latest pair of remixes of Paul Desenne's (in collaboration with Alonso Toro and Pedro Vasquez) 'Isiminaimanin' - the lead track from his gemlike Venezuelan gem of an album, Alzheimer - is a case in point. A furtive legend of the Venezuelan folk underground, Alzheimer, which was released back in 2001, expressed Desenne's talents and tastes, expansive outwards from his own Latin cello home-stretch and into further-afield wildernesses such as the Venezuelan cuatro (small guitar), Hawaiian bamboo clarinet, and electric cello - all instruments in constructing totemic, tribal, conceptual flights of fancy. It's this eclecticism on which Villalobos evidently feeds, with his two mixes expressing both fast and slow minimal-tech iterations of Desenne's mysticism.

Review: The Spanish Hypnotic Collective label attempts to capture its take on the Detroit Legacy with what looks like a new series of various artists' EP. There is plenty of Motor City soul in the gorgeous synths of Cignol's muted acid and deep house opener 'Distance' which is a soothing and reverential groove, but then its pure party from Barce, Alex Martin offers up 313 style tech and three further tunes on the flip explore blistering electro with high-speed funk and cosmic intent. Mission accomplished and we're already looking forward to the next one.

Review: London's vital Phonica is a store and record shop of great repute amongst underground music fans. It is now a mighty fine 20 years young and to mark the occasion has put together a series of fine samplers that explore the sort of varied and vital sounds it deals in. This first one kicks off with the evergreen Nya and bouncy piano house bumper 'Broken Needs'. Ninos Indigo's 'Luna' then gets a nice future-facing electro rework from Shanti Celeste that gets you on your toes and Dam Swindle then bring some loopy and feel-good house vibes to 'Allright (Just A Tribute)', a real nod to Chez Damier's early sound. System Olympia's 'A Mezzanotte" is twinkling nu-disco with Italo arps to get lost in.

Review: Expansion's offshoot label is back with a second release and for the occasion have put together a special eco vinyl 10" here that is strictly limited to just 100 copies and is fully deserving of that treatment: Tom Browne Feat. Carol Woods combined to great effect in the 80s on this soul classic that now gets a first-ever single release. It's the sort of immediately heartwarming tune that draws from soul, jazz funk, disco and more to cook up a steamy and excellent groove. On the flip is Diplomats Of Soul with their own super cover of 'Brighter Tomorrow' featuring Brit funk and acid jazz greats Incognito & Imaani.

Review: Fresh Sounds #000 is a new and unique series, limited and numbered to 150 examples thanks to the efforts of its parent company Ribo Cochlee. For the very first edition of the series, a mockley crew of newcomers come to the fore, be they DJ Moar, Disco Flegrei or Holdtight. Centring on woozy jazzdance and disco with an airily produced bent, the highlights on this one have to be Flegrei's 'Titamesque', which basks in a kind of sexy sophistry procured by the heady combination of live drums and a (we think) muted bass clarinet, and Yured Jones' 'Far Away', which breaks from the genre prescription for a more cinematic breakdown.

Review: During the first COVID-19 lockdown of 20210, London-based afrobeat collective Eparapo, an - all-stars - outfit helmed by Afrobeat Orchestra member Suman Joshi and featuring his good friend Dele Sosimi, remotely recorded a handful of killer cuts. Two of these previously digital-only gems have finally made it to vinyl, accompanied by brand-new remixes. 'From London To Lagos' is an admirable commentary on corruption set to a fuzzy, infectious, Fela Kuti style afrobeat workout, while 'Black Lives Matter' is a slowed-down, stretched out and musically detailed affair that proudly takes aim on international racism. The 'Wheelup Remix' of 'From London To Lagos' cannily re-imagines the track as a tactile, spacey and bass-heavy chunk of shuffling deep house warmth, while Sam Redmore's revision of 'Black Lives Matter' gives the track a more dancefloor focused afrobeat twist.

Review: DJ Python is a real firm favourite here at Juno HQ. His slow motion and dubbed out reggaeton rhythms just do something to us. He takes care of the B-side of the second release from Worldwide Unlimited. 'I'm Tired' is sleepy and drowsy dub with wispy synths that reflect light like fireflies as the ever-tumbling rhythms take you down deep. 'Uwu' has a tropical feel with layers of watery droplets and jungle sounds, humidity and percussion. Nick Leon's offerings are just as lean and inviting, with a crisp, tech-edged opener then a more broken beat on 'Love Potion.'

Review: For those in the know, this new collab between veteran Portuguese DJ and producer Dedy Dread and fast-rising Hawaiian singing star Olivia Ruff has been a long time coming. But it was worth the wait. The opener 'Cover Me' features Ruff's, well, slightly rough - or at least gravelly - vocals over a rhythm and bass instrumental. It's accented with wispy chords, neat little guitar riffs and crunchy claps. Flip it over and you'll find a remix by label founder The Rebel and Roman pianist and producer Shiny D. Their version is a modern update with brilliant reggaeton rhythms.

Review: This is the third reissue of this Floridian gospel-funk/christian-soul double team, with some fantastic vocals from Freddy Fender, or so they say. Though they also say he co-wrote both songs as well as played lead guitar, so it's possible it was literally just Fender playing an elaborate joke. 'Satan' and 'Sharing' both have a sensational vocal powerhouse behind them one thing is for certain, as well as an authentic lo-fi quality from the original circa 1960s recording by Gokdbang Records. Music as powerful as it is shrouded in mystery.

Review: After a superb repress of the Volvo Una Hit Italo classic, Bottin's Cristalli Liquidi project is back and this time in cahoots with French-Italiano electro pair Deux Control which is Justine Forever and Rodion. They have cooked up a selection of versions of 'Rosso Carnale' which, we understand, lyrically touches on the colour red and the gentle carnal forces of nature sung in Italian. There is a sped-up version from Bottin, a sparse mix from Deux Control and standout Mutant version with tougher drums but nice silky dub chords and a bright Italo version full of 80s synth nostalgia.

Review: DJ Jauche's still excellent album 'Let Me Dance' gets picked apart and remixed here by some fine names, and the package also includes his own original 'Turn Up The Love.' It's a shimmering and steamy late night house crawler with loved up vocals. It comes as a dub by Glenn Davis which brings a little more energy but still has plenty dusty drums, while 'Love Muzik' (Matthias Vogt remix) is another languid groove enriched with scintillant synths that sine bright. Complete the package is 'Freedom Of Innen Evolution' (Zky Chor Of Freedom remix) which is wonky, unbalanced, and raw house.

Review: The second part of the Remember The Future series from the Greek label To Pikap is another 12" packed with electro goodness form an array of exciting artists. LEGACY opens up with 'Nom De Guerre' with its magnificently lithe and chrome plated rhythms dancing about over crunchy analogue drums. Future Draft rides a more zoned out and celestial electro vibe on 'All That Remains' and The Jaffa Kid gets into some intricate synth programming and off-grid beat work. Review: TV Hill Records starts things off rough and curiosity-rousing, with a technical itch from OG AG (Andrew Grant) in collaboration with fellow producer Dimneonsum. A mid-paced deep techno calculator, 'What's Up Everybody' pares back any semblance of emotion for pure robotic urgency, with every sound moving in juddering clockwork lockstep in an abstracted world of pure, preservative mathematic topology. Opener 'San Fran' pits nervous FM loops against an equally anxious Shepard-tonal riser, while calmer moments such as the beatless 'Drakey' still disquiet with their eerie glassiness. One for the bleepy heads, the only humanistic element is the revelatory vocal sample on 'Found Out'.

Review: If De la Soul is one of the greatest hip-hop bands in the world and 'Me Myself & I' one of their greatest singles, then that makes this 7" a pretty essential one. It is an indie exclusive via Chrysalis and comes as much of the American pioneers back catalogue has been made available for the first time digitally and via several vinyl reissues. It is one of the daisy age power group's most feel good, happy and poppy singles with plenty of samples, not least of Funkadelic's 'Knee Deep.' All these years later it is still an injection of good times direct into the veins.

Review: During the first half of the 80s, Andy Sojka and Richard De Jongh wrote and produced countless UK jazz-funk, electro, soul and boogie jams, working with both obscure and relatively well-known acts (Atmosfear included). They also released a handful of singles of their own under aliases, including this one as Distance. Long out of print and finally getting a reissue courtesy of Freestyle, 'Just One More Kiss' is a superb chunk of breezy, synths-and-drum-machine driven chunk of British electrofunk featuring sweet lead vocals from Janet Halley. Over on the flip you'll find the original instrumental/dub version, 'Just One More Mix', a fine alternative take that wisely concentrates on the groove, guitars and synths and largely avoids cheesy 80s production trickery and stuttering edit effects.

Review: Sam Diss has a buttery voice that immediately melts the heart. His tunes on the likes of Outta Sight and Kent Dance and albums on Pure Pleasure always sell out. This 7" single was written by the man himself and is one of his many majestic cuts from a career that started in the late 60s and found him recording for the next 30 odd years. An original will be hard to find and probably too costly if you do so grab this limited edition 7" and prepare to get smoochy as soon as you drop the needle on the record.

This one assembles a series of interesting artists starting with Marc Brauner & Luca Olivotto's far sighted deep house dreamer 'Hallo Hallo'. Review: Twilight is the latest piece by long time DJ, producer and remixer, Dominic Dawson. The Japanese label Flower, has released this single to 7" complete with a remix for the second side. The title track is a catchy and funky house track that while the remix is a bit more Balearic and beachy. Both versions have their place in any house setlist and will set the tone for any eclectic DJ set. With the DJing background Dominic has, he is a great guide to setting the mood with music. Like the title artwork suggests, this is perfect music to watch the sun go down to.

Terrence Parker kicks off with the beautifully uplifting 'Tonight We Luv' with its streaming and soulful melodies and nice smooth drum loops.
