Review: Legendary UK indie hopefuls turned leftfield dance-pop institution Everything But the Girl aka Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn have got their first album in over 20 years dropping around about now. Before that though they have commissioned some superb remixes of the lead single. One is from Four Tet, whom they say they have always loved for the "meditative but propulsive thing in his music. The restraint mixed with momentum." He pulls off that trick again here with a fine remix, and he also supplies an instrumental, then comes extended club and dub mixes of the original from Ben Watt and Bruno Ellingham.

Review: In the wake of their acclaimed return with This Is What We Do last year, Leftfield take a loop back around for a great tradition of dance music LPs - the dub remix album. Leftfield's sound has always displayed an affinity for Jamaican music culture, and so it makes perfect sense to hear their latest works run through the echo chamber to make for a wholly different, and reliably excellent listen. From blissful ambience to heavyweight, head-nodding soundsystem rhythms, this is a worthy record in its own right. When paired with the more upfront OG version it's a strong reminder of how potent a force Leftfield remain within the album-oriented dance music sphere.
