But rather than viewing his return to Manchester as a step back, Kennedy has used Horsebeach as a catalyst to explore and make positive strides within his mental health. From Beatles-esque balladry, fuzzed out shoegaze and a lavish cover of a 00s pop classic, Things To Keep Alive still importantly retains the Horsebeach DNA and even has moments that will take fans all the way back to Kennedy's C86 inspired debut LP. Review: Humble Pie's self-titled third album was originally released in 1970 to great fanfare. The album marked a turn for the band presenting a much heavier sounding product per influence by their new manager and new label at A&M records. The band featured Steve Marriott on guitar and vocals, Jerry Shirley on drums and keyboards, Greg Ridley on bass and vocals along with Peter Frampton on guitar and vocals, Frampton stepping into the limelight with his amazing performance on 'Earth and Water Song', a song was surrounded in thentracklisting by two of the heaviest songs they ever wrote - 'One Eyed Trouser Snake Rumba' and 'I' Ready'. The album is also known for containing the one and only song sung by Jerry Shirley 'Only A Roach', a homage to marijuana.

Review: Dark Entries takes it back to New York City in around 1982 for this previously unreleased record from Ike Yard. This cult crew was made up of Stuart Argabright, Michael Diekmann, Kenneth Compton, and Fred Szymanski and they worked in their own realm somewhere between proto-body music and No Wave peers in New York. They disbanded just a year after forming having dropped an EP on Les Disques du Crepuscule in 1981 and then a self-titled album for Factory in 1982. Using the Korg MS-20 and the Roland TR-808 they cook up plenty of hybrid electro-acoustic sounds and ramshackle rhythms that are underpinned by moody baselines and perfect to get bodies moving in the club. Whether you're a post-punk fan or lover of weird electronics, this is well worth checking out.

Review: On December 30th and 31st 1978, early demo versions were laid down in Spaceward Studios of what would eventually become the debut EP from future British metal giants Iron Maiden. The three tracks in question ('Iron Maiden', 'Invasion', 'Prowler') were all recorded within the same session, making for a far more primitive and raw offering than the finalised studio versions that would ultimately find their home on the band's self-titled 1980 debut LP. This compilation restores the original three-track The Soundhouse Tapes EP, while including a bevvy of additional demos, alternative takes and live cuts from the formative, (pre-Bruce Dickinson) Paul Di'Anno era.
