Fisherman's Bend vinyl

As debut original material goes, few acts can claim to keep us waiting as long as Swedish duo Tiedye! Arriving on the scene via Mike Simonetti's Italians Do It Better imprint back in 2008 with a sumptuous cover version of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters", Tiedye have merely hinted at their capacity to captivate with original material, instead teasing us with a succession of (admittedly fine) remixes not least their classic take on DJ Kaos' "Love The Night Away". Praise be then to Simonetti and co for unleashing the first original material from Tiedye in the shape of "Fisherman's Bend". The track is a natural extension of their previous work, built around dextrous use of guitar and gently rising melodic touches that set the tone for Edvinsson's throaty vocal lead that signals a richly detailed amble through warm grooves and good moods. Of the remixes the AMO1 effort is typically unique, the track is filled with delightful live instrumentation, rippling analogue flourishes and ushering vocal swerves, whilst Dan Lissvik works his Studio magic with gently throbbing Italo glee.
