Harking back to Mercury Rev in their David Baker days as well as early Ween, 'Pleasure Suck' is a gleeful, dizzy and wilfully drug-addled record, crammed full of queasy sonic experimentation, off-kilter humour and a particularly twisted take on indie-guitar songcraft. Nonetheless, the stubborn refusal to be pigeonholed, as well as a predilection for jumping off the aural deep end, renders them a refreshingly iconoclastic proposition in the here and now, delivering short shrift to the codified modern realm of 'psych' along the way to a messy yet satisfying destination,
