This fine re-edit 12" marks the start of a new collaborative project between Macadam Mambo chief Sacha Mambo and Les Disques Superfriends boss Keeto. While the latter had a hand in selecting the source material, the actual scalpel work was left to the Macadam Mambo supremo. He typical does a bang-up job, delivering celebratory, summery reworks of a trio of obscure jams. Our pick is probably the drum madness and woozy Latin disco feel of of "Santo Chrystal", though the looser, synth-laden "Midnight Run" is almost as good. That said, the EP's final moment - the popping and fizzing soulful electrofunk of "Sending My Love" - is almost as good.
