Death In Vegas overseer Richard Fearless reboots the Drone label in style with a new 12" that sets the tone moving forwards for their stated focus "dancefloor distortion and other musical explorations". Originally founded in 2004 as an outlet for Death In Vegas material, Drone has been on hiatus for almost a decade and it's little surprise to see Fearless himself behind the buttons for the record that formalises the label's rejuvation. Entitled Higher Electronic States, the 12" consists of a solo Fearless cut backed by a remix from MOS and Nation don D'Marc Cantu, with the original offering a fine development in the proto-techno, peak time acid Fearless was beginning to explore in parts on 2011's DIV LP Trans Love Energies. Cantu's remix recasts the track as a murky exercise in foreboding techno.
