Fumiya Tanaka and Yoshihiro Hanno are back everyone; look out! The Japanese techno producers and staples of the Tokyo techno scene have had an enormous output throughout the last 20 years combined and this is their fourth collaborative release since 2005 on op.disc. On the A side "South Ghetto Drive (I)" features a galloping groove that's as dry as a bone and accompanied by a persisting overdriven guitar riff. The accompanying remix by Bruno Pronsato however is smooth, rolling, 9AM minimal house from a true legend of the genre. You can see from moments like these how influential he has been on the new generation of producers and he's still got it. On the flip is the 10 minute long epic that is "South Ghetto Drive (II)" a dusty deep house flavoured number more indebted to the Three Chairs sound and "South Ghetto Drive (III)" a dragging and smacked out 110 BPM slow burner that's strictly for the afterhours.
