Despite production credits dating back some four years for labels like 2nd Drop and Seclusias, it's only recently that Manni Dee has found his creative groove. Last year saw the Brighton-based producer really enter the wider techno consciousness with two appearances on the Berlin label Black Sun Records, straddling the divide between heavy UK bass and industrial sounds. After signing off 2013 with a contribution to Perc Trax, Dee resurfaces on Candela Rising with the Amid The Collapsing Scenery EP. In addition to two bracing, floor punishing tracks from the producer, Candela Rising have secured some high profile remixes from Ancient Methods and Shawn O'Sullivan, whose recent work for Avian and L.I.E.S. has made him one of New York's hottest techno exports. A fine record for fans of modern techno.
