In 1980, Grace Jones turned her back on the disco scene with which she'd previously been associated and headed to Compass Point studios in Nassau. Under the supervision of legendary dub players Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, and with Wally Badarou lending a hand on keyboards, the iconic model-turned-singer recorded Warm Leatherette, an album of reggae and synth-pop-infused cover versions. This deluxe, re-mastered reissue features the original full-length on disc one, and a bonus disc containing 12" versions and alternate reworks of classics such as "Love Is The Drug" and "Private Life". It's perhaps this, more than the hit-and-miss original album, which makes this version of Warm Leatheratte so desirable.
