If you needed further proof of Claremont 56's position amongst the finest of labels right now then it can be found in abundance on their latest release. The label have been blessed with the chance to go through the archives of cultish 80s NYC punk funk act Dog Eat Dog and gather up this selection of previously unreleased material. Alongside the likes of Liquid Liquid and ESG, Dog Eat Dog were part of the progenitive early 80s movement that paved the way for a whole host of contemporary artists and labels such as LCD Soundsystem and Gomma. Arriving in a lovely Keith Haring designed sleeve and backed with sleeve notes from the iconic Sal P , this release has eight tracks that span studio and live performances and is a must for anyone with anything more than a cursory interest in the 80s punk funk scene.
Señorlobo (Lovemonk), The Barking Dogs, Steve Lee, Seahorse & Castle, Christopher Tubbs, Mudd (Claremont 56), Gumshoe, Mudd (Claremont 56)
