Beyond Borders: Berlin CD

Amazingly, Dave Seaman delivered his first mix CD some 22 years ago, the long-forgotten DJ Culture on his now defunct label, Stress Records. Beyond Borders: Berlin is his first mix release since 2013, though, and happily sees the Mixmag founder and progressive house legend in fine form. Impeccably mixed, as you'd expect given his pedigree, the set sees Seaman move from the dreamy, almost downtempo loveliness of Nicolas Masseyoff's remix of Jaap Ligthart's "I Know Change", to the contemporary progressive house shuffle of Framework, via the kind of tactile, loved-up fare that expertly blurs boundaries between tech-house, deep-house, and texture-heavy European techno.
