Dutch electro enigma Cliff Lothar has picked an interesting selection of labels to reside in ever since his debut on Viewlexx back in 2013. Instead of going for the big shot imprints, which no doubt have come calling, the producer has decided to be associated to lesser known but perhaps better respected stables like Riverette, Turbo or Midlight Records. After the launch of his own Clifftraxx, he's been called up by Jared Wilson's sublime 7777 label, and what better way to open an EP than with the ferocious hooks of "Bass Destruction"? The tune is a solid electro killer, charged-up by a murky, deafening bassline, which make way for Jared Wilson and Todd's more straight-laced techno reinterpretation. "Electro Technology" heads into some classic Detroit territories thanks to that inimitable Drexciyan swing, an art form based around the elements of water and fluidity, which leaves "Rector" to launch an all-out arial attack on us with its nasty, hazardous folds of acid-ridden distortion. Gnarly.
