There's no band more timeless than Blondie, nor any band more likely to nonsense the idea that pop music is the preserve of the young - Debbie Harry is 71 years old, yet 'Pollinator' is as fleet of foot as anything the band have made, not to mention their finest album since their late-'90s comeback with 'No Exit'. Recruiting the production skills of John Congleton, not to mention a galaxy of stars in the writing department (Charlie XCX, Sia, Johnny Marr, Dev Hynes, Nick Valensi) may have helped them on their way, but 'Pollinator' would be nothing without our Deb's imperious charisma, nor a pop suss that has lost none of its sharpness with the passing of the ages.
