Review: Beaters were a legendary group from South Africa that initially released this album in the late 1960s on CBS. They mixed up their own vision of funk, soul and R&B across plenty of compelling and coherent instrumentals. The band eventually morphed into the equally legendary South African outfit Harari. This is the first-ever reissue for this psychedelic soul classic and a first-ever reissue album for the young but already vital Selected Works label. The long player comes with all of the original artwork and plenty of standout tunes.
