Review: Peder Mannerfelt's Produktion label comes correct once more, ushering in the debut vinyl release from Russian artist Machine Woman, the six track For Sweden 12". The production alias of Leningrad-born and Berlin-based Anastasia Vtorova, Machine Woman aligns with Mannerfelt after first making her name on some 2014 tapes - check her Pink Silk effort for Tesla Tapes if you want to delve backwards into her sound. For Sweden is described as "waltzing the line between techno and the avant-garde' which seems like a fairly accurate summation with the tracks swinging between gravelly rhythmic cuts the more adventurous DJs will play in the club and glitchy experimentalism that will appeal to fans of the Pan Sonic school of sound. A most impressive record from Ms Vtorova!

Review: For his third album, Swedish producer Peder Mannerfelt retreats to his own self-titled label. Not much else has changed though and Controlling Body is shot through with the same assured, experimental edge. "Building of the Mountain" kicks off the album with rave stabs breaking in slow motion and Glasser's high-pitched wail, while "Her Move" features an unnamed chanter speeding up and slowing down against robust break beats. There are also moments of real musical beauty - check the warm, enveloping chords of "BZ Reaction" and the ghostly, Biosphere-style radar whirrs of "Coast 2 Coast" - but this would not be a Mannerfelt work if it did not test the boundaries, as it does on the mannequin stuttering 'c-c-c-c-create' on the slowed down tribalism of "Limits to Growth" or the droning textures of "Abysmal".

Review: All things considered, it's been a pretty big year for Peder Mannerfelt. First he releases on Glasgow's Numbers imprint, and then Will Bankhead and Joy Orbison's Hinge Finger label - what could he possibly come up with next!? Well, the dude is back on his own, self-titled record imprint with an unsurprisingly loose set of dance tracks, starting with the near-beatless ambient waves of "Joan @ The Rave", and followed by the beat-heavy techno punch "Public Images". "Request Line" kicks the B-side off with a wonky bit of leftfield dance experimentation, spear-headed by an aptly bizarre set of bass tones, allowing "Blog Kept A Growing" to ties this wonderful EP off yet more frivolity, manifested by a stop-start power electronic rhythm. Much needed - go grab it.

Review:  The Pender Mannerfelt Produktion label has quickly become an utterly reliable source of industrial and leftfield wares, catching our attention with every new release on their catalogue. Dromfakulteten collective member Sissel Wincent is introduced to us here with her debut EP, and its tribalistic shades of electronica are absolutely spot-on in terms of what we seek at the moment. We love abstract, experimental music with movement and direction, and that is exactly what tunes like "As If", "Investigation" and "Monstera" are built-around, albeit noisy and, at times, totally broken down. "Chrome" is the tune that gets nearest to any form of techno or dance music thanks to some raucous kick drums, while "Stream Of Consciousness" breaks it all back down into a muddy, swamped pool of aqueous sonics.
