Jericho Records Top 10 May 2009

Jericho Records was created in 1998 by techno DJ and producer Jel Ford. He had long been inspired by the work of artists such as Dave Angel and labels like Red Planet and Underground Resistance and all things Detroit and at the time techno was mainly driven by a heavier loop based sound and the label was born from a desire to put Detroit influenced material with a UK twist into the market. The Jericho musical philosophy was never supposed to be firmly fixed as such but essentially just had to be funky and the artists such as Adam Beyer, Funk D Void, Dave Angel, Umek, Steve Rachmad and many others who recorded for the label captured that philosophy perfectly. The label continues in that vein now and hopefully will do so long into the future.
