Orange Moon (6:39)
Cleva (6:45)
Review: Two really delicate portions of jazz-frazzled drum & bass from a producer who has decided to remain anonymous. "Orange Moon" sounds like a contemporary take on a 4Hero jam with added muscle, the vicious arrangement wrapped tightly with Martina Topley-Bird-style dulcet vocals. Accompanying this, "Cleva" is a sprightlier affair with jazz fun firing off with every meandering key stroke. There's a fine line between liquid and mischief... This mysterious character treads it finer than most.

Liquid 94 (6:27)
Cut-Throat Hardcore (5:19)
Nautilus (5:44)
The Future (5:35)
Review: Eveson's old school homage Dead Man's Chest enjoys the vinyl outfit its sounds demand... "Liquid 94" is all about the trembling one note piano strokes over a breezy mid tempo breakbeat. "Cut Throat Hardcore" is exactly what the name suggests: icy pads, barbed wire breaks, mentasms and a haunted vocal sample that nags for eons. "Nautilus" is the darkest jam of the EP; all buried elements and warped textures wrap tightly around cymbal-splash heavy break with enough space for a very well known Lafayette horn sample. Finally we hit the arresting, super-spacious sounds of "The Future" where the vocal dominates over a broad-brushed drum swing and deep sea pads. Deadly.

Macca & Loz Contreras - "One Touch" (Technimatic remix) (5:15)
Silence Groove - "Only You" (5:59)
Review: The words 'Technimatic' and 'remix' should be enough to whet most junglists' whistles right here... Taking Macca and Loz's 2014 breezy, break-fuelled roller and stripping back into something a little more delicate and hypnotic, it's straight out of the remix rule book. Flip for a brand new original from Polish player Silence Groove. Conjuring up similar feels to Brookes Brothers "Tear You Down" but with heavier emphasis on the orchestral sample, it's coated in so much emotion you may have to provide post-drop counselling to the more sensitive members of your dancefloor.

Dawn Chorus (4:53)
Vanishing Point (5:19)
Windtalkers (5:15)
Intimacy (5:14)
Review: Sam Reed's first originals since his impeccable debut album Presence last year, "Dawn Chorus" notates his move back from London to New Zealand and re-engaging with his machines. Delicate, soulful and just the right amount of dark, each of these cuts are fine examples of timeless drum & bass. From the shimmering pianos of "Windtalkers" to the Hybrid Minds-style spacious simplicity of the title track, each of these four cuts remind us why Tokyo Prose is one of the most respected men in the deeper side of the scene.

Where We Go (feat Doctor) (4:24)
Ghostwriter (4:21)
Review: More premium D&B goodness from the decorated duo Calyx & TeeBee; "Where We Go" features the instantly charming vocals of Doctor (the name behind the vocals on Flux Pavilion's summer banger "International Anthem") and drops into a bassline so elastic it should come with safety goggles. Flip for the darker, uncompromised sounds of "Ghostwriter" where the duo throw two tonnes of broken glass into their bass mix for a firmer, arresting low end sensation... And a very cheeky old school breakdown. There's a reason these guys are so respected.

Review: Sugar-sweet sonics from London's burgeoning Fizzy crew: First up, My Joseph's psychedelic skipper "Closed Eyes", closely followed by dazzling sunny side soul from constantly reliable Eveson. Dig deeper for the Logistics-sounding hums and haze of Malakay & Velocity's "Midnight" and the sample-smashing jazz shock out "Other Lives" by Austrian duo Roy Green & Protone. Quench your thirst.

MCD - "Alright" (feat Ragga Twins & Myesha - Benny Page remix) (5:03)
Review: Four firing ragga jungle versions from French skank-shakers Psychodynamik. First up; Ed Solo adds some serious turbo juice to Freestylers & Stereotype's 2013 bubbler "The Coming Storm", Turnable Dubbers follow with a similarly satisfying twist on Protoje's "Who Knows", retaining the full vocal but adding a warm, rugged bass flow beneath. Deeper into the 12" we hit a dancehall-minded twist on Isaac Maya's "King Of Jungle" while Benny Page does what he does best on MCD's Ragga Twins-fronted "Alright". Jungle filth!

Looking In (feat Ed:It) (5:39)
Without Worry (4:34)
Lie Through Me (4:08)
Review: Welsh wunderkind Pennygiles steps up to Fusion's Tempo brand with three slabs of jungle concrete. "Looking In" has a hazy air that's reminiscent of Need For Mirrors' early output where the drums need to be peeled away layer by layer. "Without Worry" is a breezier jam with treacle subs and a faraway vocal that yearns for Hospital (chiefly Logistics) earlier output. "Lie Through Me" brings us to the climax. The softest, most emotional cut of the bunch, this one is all about the dreamy pads, velvet subs and lush brushed snares. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most effective. Yet another triumph for both Pennygiles and Tempo.

Native (4:12)
Once Again (4:37)
Review: The artists previously known as Xample & Lomax return with two whirlwind boneshakers: "Native" sparkles with occasional harp flurries, jazz-minded key sprinkles and a smoky male vocal. "Once Again" reminds us of the duo's harder, more underground roots with a screaming see-saw hook and a bassline so sharp you could cut through concrete with this 12". Both sides of the dance covered; Loadstar never disappoint!

Empires (8:17)
Distant Blues (7:36)
Review: Last spotted on Doc Scott's 31 two years ago with the evergreen "Digital" and "Clouds", Bournemouth's Overlook returns with two more contrasting grooves; "Empire" is all about the dominant hand drum rhythm that drills with hypnotic insistency while "Distant Blue" is straight out of the Metalheadz playbook - all concrete snares, tungsten kicks and a series of textures so rough they'd make Jubei blush. Start building your "Empire" today...

Review: Hungarian heavy-hitters Eatbrain aren't messing around this year... Following monster vibers from the likes of Billain, Machinecode and Hypoxia comes this crucial doublet from Italian stallion Dabs. "Grindwerk" is a hornet nest neuro puncher with interesting rhythm switches and well positioned calls to action from MC RymeTyme. Flip for a hook up with Czech monster A Crazy; "Hysteria" lives up to its name neatly with a grizzly bassline that scratches the watertight two-step within inches of its life. Grindy.

Encrypted (Stealth mix - CD)
Review: Four of the 15 slabs of underground drum & bass massiveness on Program's debut compilation Encrypted, delivered on lush green vinyl: "Slaughter House" is straight-up nasty. You can hear Audio's influence on every jagged aspect of this bassline-focussed ripper. Bladerunner follows and he's kicking it old school with breezy minor key chords, gutsy vocals and rolling amens like it's 1994... Before the bassline kicks us straight in 2038. ChrisSU's "URAR" is a much more contemporary affair, opening with deep dream synthesis before charging bullishly into the dance with a bassline so volatile it's been declared a global emergency. Finally Battery adds to his previous on Renegade Hardware and Spearhead with a brutish roller that grizzles with raw menace throughout.

Karma - "Saturation Point" (4:12)
Review: A brand new album series from Shogun, Point Of Origin was established purely to celebrate innovation at drum & bass's very forefront. The entire collection is stunning but here, for the vinyl release, they've picked four of the best; Ed:It's string seeping "Centre Suite" is an emotional roller that coasts with timeless sunny-side charm, Zero T (who makes his return to the label after many many years) lays down his trademark scuffed soul on "One For Me" while Dutch up-and-comer Posij lays down the perfect hissy-fit bassline over a razor-sharp turbo-charged two-step. Finally Karma closes the show with the high-energy jump-up hybrid 'Saturation Point'. Funky.

Riot (4:30)
New Breed (5:55)
Got Ya (5:39)
Unrest (5:22)
Review: Jungle don Digital saddles up with newcomer Response once again, this time on Klute's Commercial Suicide imprint. In the past the duo have shown us a much lighter, jazzier side with 'Slip Away', this is a much darker document. "Riot" is a steampunk bulldozer, all pistons and sheet metal utensils while "Unrest" softens the blow with rolling dub techno motifs and techniques. Elsewhere we find Digital going solo... "New Breed" rips the centrefold spread from the Metalheadz playbook with its icy moans, groans and deep sea kicks while "Got Ya" whisks us back 20 years for an objective lesson in proto jungle with rusty amens and atmospheres so thick you need a cutlass to slice through them. Disgusting.

Sparking up with a synth-skank twist before dropping into a firing 170 rip-up, this is guaranteed to slap all floors into submission. Flip for "D&B Selecta". Review: Ivy Lab get their mucky paws on two of the many highlights from Binga's ever-growing, impossible-to-categorise repertoire. "Greatest Distance" gets murked with trippy glitches and twitches before dropping into a salubrious two-step roll-out. Meanwhile on the flip last year's bash-anthem with Redders gets a deep space subversion with bulbous bass shots and sounds so stretched and twisted they could give the sturdiest minds some serious nightmares.

Review: Bristol-based basssmith Binga comes correct with his debut long one: a tightly-stitched suite of beats, flavours, cultures and vocalists, it's an immense listen whether you come at this from a jungle perspective, a beats point of view or a straight-up D&B angle: from iced-out instrumental rollers such as "Dark Day" and the chubby-bass ridden "I Tol U" to twisted future dancehall like the title track "Wasted Days" and trippy turbo grime "Badman Skin". Complete with an all-star cast of mic caressers - TT The Artist, Rider Shafique, Warrior Queen and Binga's long-term compadre Redders - this is a heavyweight document that really showcases both Binga's capabilities and the creative potential of future genre smelting. Now complete with big bold vocals from Ayar Marah, it remains one of the staple bangers of 2015. Flip for the equally dramatic monster "Is It Love". Galvanised with a yearning vocal from Laconic, if drum & bass was a movie and there was a chips-are-down moment with an emotional montage where it bites back the tears and comes back fighting this would be the song to soundtrack it. Review: Not just one of drum & bass's most iconic female vocalists, but also one of the most respected... Riya's work behind the scenes goes back around 15 years. As a result she's got serious reference points, a genuine understanding of proper drum & bass and a really impressive debut album that features some of the best names in D&B. Ranging from the sci-fi soars and twinkling synths of "Misunderstanding" to the out-and-out gutter slaps of "Piece Of Me" via the soul jazz jungle lushness of "Don't You Know" and the already massive lighter-raiser "As Soon As". Released at a time when a lot of female features are popping up in D&B for all the wrong reasons, Riya is the real deal... And so is this album.
